The embassy received my fiance's packet 3 the 2nd of December and he went for and his medical in November but still we havent heard anything about when his interview will be! It seems like all sorts of people have dates really fast...anyone else in the same boat?

This all varies by country and embassy. It's normal for there to be a couple months between the embassy's receipt of the petition and the interview. In some countries, it can take much longer.
Please fill out your timeline and other information (ie - visa type, country, etc) so people can give you more accurate feedback.
