I am wondering what color wedding rings most people have gotten when one person is white. I have never been able to wear silver or white gold well. I was thinking about 2 colored rings. And well I know you guys are the experts on all things related to international love. So what type of rings does everyone have ? blush.gif

He has a two colored ring and I have gold band and a diamnond.

Some people prefer platinum but I like gold and the two tone looks really nice on him.

Platinum
Bassi and Zainab
Bassi has the rings and hasn't let me see them. I think they are silver. He had them hand made, so I think they must be silver.

I haven't bought his "real" ring yet. I gave him an engraved sterling silver ring when we met, so that he would have something to wear while we are apart. And the silver looks FANTASTIC on his beautiful dark skin. So I'm leaning toward getting him something in white gold. Maybe two-tone.

He gave me a gold ring with a diamond in it. But yesterday, one of the prongs broke and the diamond fell out. I was heart-broken and I spent nearly two hours tearing the office apart looking for it. My mom was wonderful to come back to the office to help me and she's the one who found the diamond. WHEW!!!!

Anywho, . . . I'm going to have to replace the band and setting (no more prongs for me). I've always preferred white gold or platinum. But I want it to be something that he likes, so we'll see.

I understand how good the platinum and white looks on dark skin but i look so bad in the color that even jewlery stores have put away pieces they have tried on me without me having to say anything. I think a 2 color may be the best. Kind of reflect the two of us darker and lighter together.

Could have the same design, just different colours...if you're leaning towards engraved designs of some kind. Some have both white and yellow gold incorporated.

When I look at my parents or people who've been married a long time, they all say it's just a ring. Mind you ....My dad lost his down the register for a while when my 7 yr old brother did' magic' with it. He tore apart the duct-work that night to get ikt back. My mom had nvr taken her's off in 40 yrs, until she had to have an operation and then it was cut-off because she couldn't get it off.

So it's not 'just a ring'....i also know people who were really young when they first got married, and years later they replaced their rings because the first ones were all they could afford, but not very fancy.

We have white gold. If we ever get enough money I'd like to replace them with platinum.

We have white gold bands, we will eventually replace them.
one love
Mine has Silver he loves silver and i have Gold because im allergic to silver.. Let me pint out.. When choices a ring. Its not color of your skin okay.. Its what you perfer to wear has noting to do with your skin.. unless allergic, I just do not like when color of skin comes in to play about an issue.. If you love someone it should not Right?? maybe you should of stated your wording diffrent, because when you said when one is white.. I took it wrong and some others may be affended by it as well. color of dress !! WoW its yours wedding you choice what u love..

Ours are two-tone, titanium and silver. I wear the darker side in and my husband wears the lighter side in. My husband would have preferred gold, but we didn't have the money at the time. Maybe later. Anyway, no one thinks they are wedding bands because we wear them on our right hands. My husband can't wear a ring on his left hand because his ring finger is all scarred and nothing will go over his knuckle.
