For those who are close on income levels, here's a link to the page and note at the top that they expect to post 2008 levels during the 2nd half of Jan.
So by the time many have their interview, the levels will change a little. I don't think it will be a lot based on a COLA adustment I received, but even 2-3% can be enough if you're close.

Hi,

What does it mean by 125% poverty line?
aappllee
that means that your petitioner/sponsor income should be 25% more than the federal poverty income level shown above.

so for example, if your fiance/fiancee has no other dependents and since he/she is sponsoring you then that would make 2 members of the household and if you live in New York, poverty income level is 14,000. then you multiply 14,000 by 125% that would equal to 17,500. in this case, for your visa to be approved, your sponsor should make at least 17,500 a year. :-)

Well if you check the the current 2007 Poverty Guidelines I864P..

All the way in the bottom it does says..

QUOTE
These poverty guidelines remain in effect for use with Form I-864, Affidavit of Support, from April 1, 2007 until new poverty guidelines go into effect in the spring of 2008.

So meaning these are set by the US govt. But will take effect on USCIS on Spring.. That's my understanding..

hmmmnnn.. Wonder what's their guidelines on W2?

Here is the link to the current 125% of poverty guidelines:
