well so far my day of chilling out is a day of stress. I weighed myself this morning and I've lost weight, usually this is cause for celebration but I have problems with low blood pressure and sometimes if I get stressed I lose weight so my blood pressure drops so I start passing out everytime I stand up. My usual average blood pressure sits around 90/60. I've learnt to cope with it over the years, I can usual feel when it's dropping and I'm at risk of passing out and when it does happen (which can be anywhere) I just pick myself up, have a bottle of lucozade (going to have to hunt out the US alternative) and get on with things. My work were really good as they kept a bottle in the fridge for me just incase. However airlines wont let you fly if you start passing out. Unfortuanatly the more I stress the more it drops and currently the more it drops the more I stress. Also if I lose too much more my wedding dress will need altered again. Since we started this process back in late june I have gone from a 12/14 to a 8/10. I'm now stressed that I'll be so stressed in the airport I'll zoink out and they wont let me fly! grrrrrr I just want this to be over.

Hehehe - back to saying "YOU'LL BE FINE!!!" - hun you'll be fine - I know what you mean about wanting it all over though - I am the same although right now I want to get my packet 3 off and get the interview/medical done and out of the way asap just so I don't have to worry about them anymore - I am still worried about including the wedding planner contract in the initial I-129f although I am sure it will be fine... but we have to worry about something - right?

Morning happy.gif

I'm feeling a bit down in the dumps at the moment and have resorted to comfort in the form of chocolate biscuits *sighs*

Give some of your extra weight to debz - she needs to eat some pies and I think the rest of us could do with losing a few lbs - problem solved wink.gif We'll eat on behalf of debz - yay!! biggrin.gif
Alex & Rachel
That would be ideal - those of us who comfort-eat when we're stressed sharing any weight gain with those who lose their appetite when they're stressed!

I'm in the former group and my housemate is the latter - she's always grumbling about having to make herself eat to keep her weight up and I'm always grumbling about trying to satiate my appetite so I can keep my weight down!

Debz, I know how your feeling. It's suddenly hit home this last few days that it is going to be a long time before I see anyone here again, some longer than others. I still have so much to do and sort out. I have to really think about packing my cases, I just hope customs dont open them as they will never get everything back in them. laughing.gif
The worst part is leaving my 19 year old son behind crying.gif he's really struggling with me going and it's breaking my heart. He lives with his dad and doesnt really come to see me that often but I think it's just the thought that I won't be here IF he does need me.
I tend to stop eating when I'm stressed and have a low blood pressure too. I can sympathise with you there Debz, my normal blood pressure is around 90/50. I have learnt to live with it and do tend to grab sugary stuff when I feel dizzy, it does help some.

Damn I wish I lost weight when I stressed out! I would love to get down to an 8/10...still stuck at 12/10. It seems like my boobs will never shrink :-(

Well I'm all for starting a diet-morale-up-keeping thing going - I so need to lose weight - my skirt that I used to be able to pull down actually FITS me now which is really bad - it was my fatty skirt which officially makes me a fatty... I am prolly a 14-16 at the moment and I was a 10-12 a couple years ago after going on a diet where I actually ate healthily instead of loads of cr@p. If I could hover around a 12-14 I would be happy...

well I'm 5'10 and currently sitting at 9st 6lbs. I am actually eating quite alot just not putting weight on.

It's my leaving party today in Glasgow so any people on here than can get to Glasgow it's all happening in the Solid Rock near Central Station from 3pm onwards.

Had good time in Newcastle the last 2 days with my aunt and she used to be a nurse before she left the NHS to follow her dreams as a garden designer. She's had me stuffing my face with sugar and poteins, not feeling a dizzy in general now but still having bouts. Probably going to feel ALOT more dizzy later today. LOL!

Hmm, I need to lose weight... I have put on a bit since Christmas.. Time for those salad leaves to come back out again, lol

You'll find a way to make things work out, try not to stress too much! Hopefully you can pay things to a scheduled budget so it will make it easier to deal with.

And morning / afternoon everyone!

night out was great. Had a couple of floods of tears but it was a great night.

Well I fly out very early Wed morning and I have a lot to do so probably wont be around very much over the next few days. I've been warned not to let the up coming forcast storms worry me too much as they are supposed to have blown over by tuesday. Monday is supposed to be the worst.

Well just got my Amex statement - £330 by April 2nd - it's ok - I would prefer less but it wasn't like I wasn't expecting it. Am hoping to pay that off in full next week or the week after once I get some wages through so my bank isn't too dire!!! Want to get everything paid off by the end of the month, esp if I don't have a job from then onwards sad.gif Am thinking I will have to fill my life with car boot sales and hope my last remaining uni books sell on Amazon.

Hey chick - glad you had a great time - miss you around here so you better find enough time to get on when you move!! I am so excited/nervous for you - I bet it doesn't seem quite real does it? I can imagine just going about my day-to-day trying to get everything packed and organised and running around like a headless chicken, then every now and then stopping with the realisation of "cr@p, I'm leaving the country to live in X days", feeling my stomach lurch with nerves and excitement then needed to run to the bathroom!!!

Grrr, got pretty wet on my way to work this morning.

But on the bright side, I got packet 3 on Saturday. Yay kicking.gif
Now that the I-130 has been approved, it's beginning to sink in that I'm actually going. Up to now, it's kinda seemed just like messing around with paperwork!!!! Well, I pretty much have everything apart from a few jabs for the medical, but I don't want to send it back for a while, cos we don't want to move till July or August. How long do you guys think it's safe to hang on to it? A month should be ok, right?

xxxx Stay inside and safe, all you people on the coast!!

Welcome back! I was wondering where you were!

The Bahamas - how lovely for you! I am so envious!!! We enjoyed getting over a foot of snow dumped on us this weekend! My back still aches from the shoveling!

ok to say I'm jealous is a massive understatement.

Really dull and wet in west scotland but nothing too horrendous. As long as GLA, DUB, ORD and OMA airports are operations as normal on wednesday I'll be happy, well as happy as possible given my fear of flying!!!! Anyways...back to packing.

Debz - are you really off in 2 days??? Wow... seems like just yesterday you started out here on VJ!

Sorry to stoke up any jealousy... Does it make it feel better if I tell you this was my first holiday since my month-long visit to America to get married, which was Christmas 2006? Even that wasn't strictly a holiday as I was dealing with all sorts of family drama and we were pretty constantly with at least one member of both our families at all times except when we were in bed or in the bathroom!

The whole moving to America/green card thing last year pretty much cancelled out all my holiday for 2007.

Yay! I don't want anyone thinking I'm either 1) bragging about going away or 2) feel I'm put upon. Julez -- you would have LOVED it there! Met a nice couple from Buffalo in the airport going home -- they were so sad to be returning to their heavy coats too.

We're going to try and arrange it so as many people can come as poss as far as I know - we're kinda waiting until everyone is together and settled a bit before plans are made though - check out our beanbag room biggrin.gif I am sure the schemes will ripen there laughing.gif

Of course not, but in the end it will come down to finances and babysitters! As you may recall I am encumbered with 3 kids, which tends to make traveling a bit more challenging. Good thing about having my kids before age 30 is that once I'm 50 I will be pretty much free to do whatever, where ever! laughing.gif

Hey guys, I'm going to be LA when I finally make the move. It's cool so many UK VJers are in the area. I was hoping to be there by July, but my work is project based, and we are behind schedule, so it's looking more like August now. Gotta keep telling myself, it' s good for my savings.

Still, we could try to do an LA UK meet up - I wouldn't want to crowd the July filers meet up as an imposter wink.gif

Aww - bring 'em along - we love kids... besides - I am sure they would appreciate the drinking and gambling in Vegas laughing.gif

Yay for lots of UK peeps near LA biggrin.gif!!
Poiteen
I have no idea where we'll live, we've never been there before! whistling.gif I think I'd like Santa Monica because I get the impression it might be possible to get around by walking, but it might be to expensive. I want to work in film, so, we will want to stay near Hollywood and the studios etc. blush.gif

Of course I forgot your OH is not here yet!

Santa Monica is nice, though rents are a bit pricier than other parts of town. It is walkable, plus the beach and the pier are nearby. Loads of brits/irish too. I live in Venice which is nearby and I love it - a lot cooler temps than even a few miles inland, which is a bonus. But I'd probably have a bigger place for the $$$ if I was in Hollywood.

SM is a decent commute if you work at Sony or Fox, but highly crapulent if you get a job at Universal,Warner or Disney!

For sure! Poiteen - the commute to the Valley is HORRIBLE from SM/Venice. Do you have a studio you are interested in? I told hubby the other day, the #1 worst thing about LA is traffic. If I had a long commute I'd move away.

I recommend Culver City/Palms. It's kinda close to the beach (4 miles) & far less traffic than Hollywood. Walkable too.
