Does everyone in PS remember last night? laughing.gif
Poiteen
Mornin' from the fabulous PS!! I'm sure everyone remembers last night. We had a really lovely time, but thank god the drinks weren't as lethal as Lola's (that might be my fault). And we had Aly's amazing coconut rolls (what were they called?) to soak up the mojito and sangria. I think dev was right - food is needed for the next LA meetup!

AND Palm Springs welcomed us with some rain and a cool evening, it was really fabulous night!

I'm going to visit the Salem Witch Trials in a couple weeks. biggrin.gif

So excited, it's all so interesting and it can be used for research.

i think my ex-wife traces her roots to there.

I saw a bumper sticker once that said "My ex wife's car is a broom"

I *really want that bumper sticker for my mum's partner!!!

laughing.gif You're alive!!! Am I the only one with the headache?! unsure.gif We've cleared up most of the stuff here and have Maven's blender and lighter laughing.gif The first load is in the dishwasher and the living room is much cooler than last night even though it is pushing 100f again smile.gif

I am on my nth beer since waking up as a hair of the dog remedy smile.gif Jeremy is so kind to me luv.gif
elmcitymaven
Hola -- back in Burbank now. Last night was fantastic -- I am such a good girl, I ate quite a bit of pork and them nummy coconut rolls, and switched to ginger ales about halfway through (though I did have a beer just before I left). The sangria and mojitos were fairly low alcohol, which helped. Yay for no hangover! kicking.gif

It was very funny though -- tee hee, nothing like a bit of gossip with the girlies... whistling.gif
Laura+Tom
Sounds like you all had a good time.
Gemmie
sad.gif Jealous!

Glad you all had a good time.
Jeraly
I had a major headache yesterday all day though! We had a bit of hair of the dog and slept a bit though so it was really nice that Jeremy got the day off of work as we could just chill biggrin.gif Am on the second/third round of dishwashering now biggrin.gif I think we have enough alcohol left over for Hallowe'en as well!! laughing.gif

On last count:

2x bottles white wine
1.5x bottles red wine
1x bottle of champagne
1x liter of vodka
0.5 liters of white rum
1x bottle of mojito mix...

That's not to mention all the soft drinks we still have!!! Rock on! Can't wait 'til Hallowe'en now biggrin.gif
charles!
g'day everyone!
tucson_chick
headache - yep smile.gif
i had the whole bottle of bubble all by myself smile.gif

I LOVE DAiSY!!!!

can't wait for halloween!!!
eric already planned out what we will dress up like smile.gif

Oh no!! I did notice it was empty but didn't realise you had it all yourself!! I think I would have been fine had Jeremy not poured me many strong JD & cokes wacko.gif laughing.gif

Daisy had a good time too I think biggrin.gif I wonder if she will let us dress her up for Hallowe'en?! laughing.gif She could look like this:

Hallowe'en Kitty

We might have another little kitty then as well - Jeremy has said that when we buy the Maven's car then we can get another cat (based on the fact we can afford to if we aren't spending so much on gas biggrin.gif )
Poiteen
Yes, the Maven is turning in to the Car Fairy Godmother laughing.gif
Jeraly
I just had an image of her waving a sparkly wand and all these little toy cars falling out and floating to the ground laughing.gif

I think I have an overactive imagination biggrin.gif

yeah, and the next time we will ignore the "closed" sign on the pool!

YAI!

Jeraly
laughing.gif Oooh Agnes - you rebel!! Hopefully it will all be sorted by then anyway and it will be cooler - maybe people can come over earlier or something to make the most of the daylight then we can sit outside to dry off with some nice drinks and maybe a barbeque...

Ginger - I don't suppose a trip to Palm Springs on 1st November would be in the question would it!? biggrin.gif innocent.gif You can bring the monopoly if you *really* want to laughing.gif

Aww - you forgot to include an oversized one of you and Bruce in "lurrrve" laughing.gif
ginger1981
I got owned in Monopoly. He build hotels on Vermont, Connecticut and Oriental. Who thought the ghetto spaces would kill me?

I'd love to show up in November, alas later that month I go back home to see mi famiglia for thanksgiving. Hopefully in the future I'll make it out to Cali to harrass y'all wink.gif

charles!
g'morning everyone.
Jeraly
Aww - see I don't know the US monopoly board... I know the UK one off by heart though laughing.gif

Am thinking of holding a party for New Year's Eve as well so maybe Cali will be graced with your presence then?! biggrin.gif
rkl57
Glad to hear you ladies had fun at your party. I was busy chillaxing beside a pool in San Diego. We meant to go to Mexico for the day but we forgot our passports like a couple of dolts. So we toured the USS Midway instead.
Jeraly
Haha - Oh we should all go on a VJ trip to Mexico (when certain of us get our AP) - that would be sooo cool biggrin.gif

On another note, I have found the ALC-stalking-Maven posts and laughing.gif Ohhh it has kept me entertained for a good hour biggrin.gif

$1.78 - a record! kicking.gif

yeah it is good news! Especially since we want to go back October of 09'...I hope it keeps going down.

Btw...has anyone done or is interested in doing the Great North Run next year?
Jeraly
Kewlies... Now how tempting is it to move my savings back over again..?! whistling.gif We got like $1.96 bringing my money across biggrin.gif
elmcitymaven
Yeah, glad to see it going down too, as it looks like I have to go over there for a meeting in mid-November. Waaaaah, 11 hour flights make me go mental!

Bruce has asked if I will bring back a suitcase of used Jag parts for him. I will, if he keeps his nose clean. Again, clearly I am the car fairy.

Jeraly
Maven - if you put those together you have waaaay too much time on your hands biggrin.gif

Still waiting to see a lovely gigantic one of you and Bruce together mid-snog while wearing your best wedding dress (as opposed to your other skanky one?! laughing.gif ) with the soft focus lense and smoke-effect edging... Mmmm classy laughing.gif
elmcitymaven
Do not tempt me.

Off to have a coffee with Poiteen!

I think you should leverage at least one more boozy night out with the girls for offering to do that!

Ginger - I have friends who have done the Great North Run. Apparently it's a tough course!

Yeah I looked at a course profile and there is one huge hill and a few other smaller ones. Of course living in flat Chicago won't make training for hills easy. The Metro has stops at the beginning and end of the course so it would work out perfect for Nicky and his family to hop on and meet me at the end.

charles!
good morning everyone. it seems like we have more tropical storms out there coming our way.

I didn't even bother with 90210. I wonder if the Peach Pitt will still be around?

Hmmm...I got wrangled into volunteering to help out at an opening gala/benefit for the new American Girl store up here (it is opening in one of the malls I work with). Apparently they are closing down the store at 12:30 to get ready for this big party...apparently my job is going to be dealing with angry parents whose kids are throwing a fit because the store is closed. I have to find a way to sate them...and if they ###### enough I give out a free gift.

I better get into the party for free for doing that job dangit!
*julez*
I didn't watch the new 90210 either. Sounds like maybe I didn't miss much.
Jeraly
For years I never realised why it had those funny numbers at the end of it... since I got a bit older and realised other countries existed innocent.gif I figured it out - right about when I figured out what zip codes were ( I swear as a kid I had some idea they had something to do with the zipper on jeans... whistling.gif )

Maybe you thought they were like Levi's jeans...I remember during that time in the 90's the 501's were hot (paired with Jason Priestly Ray-Bans of course!)

I couldn't agree with you more! It sucked out loud. It was like they were trying to take bits of Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, and other teenage dramas and cram them all into this new 90210. It was disastrous and very disappointing.

I'm so over this election. I just haven't felt like either side has done a great job here. Either way, the neocons still seem far more frightening to me. I wasn't even that scared until there were chants of "drill baby drill" or whatever that was they were chanting. Seriously, is that really going to solve our fuel issue? It's still going to run out eventually morons!
