I'm 26. I think it's time for me to learn how to make Jello molds.

Here's one. Poke it! It trembles.

And another!! A Universe Beyond Gay

You can almost taste them, can't you? Don't forget to decorate them with little knick knacks. It makes them special. smile.gif

Jaybus that is almost as disturbing as the Clay Aiken pins. However, my favorite jello mold of all time was Aunt Beth's from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation...the mold that had the Meow Mix in it? laughing.gif

Fantastic! Makes me think of these two:

The Other Other White Meat

and

Knudsen Products

For some reason that Kundsen cookbook reminds me of the church cookbooks compiled by the ladies at the local methodist church. I think something like 80% of the recipes involved Knudsen products.

Very good point!!! laughing.gif

I'm almost jealous wink.gif But the house is slowly coming together now - we have glasses made of glass now instead of plastic!!! And I finally found some wine glasses I liked!

Awful night last night - Jeremy was meant to get home early so we could go out and get things for the party ( he STILL hasn't invited anyone ranting33va.gif ) SO we dash around the store in like 45 minutes (a record for me!) and head to Home Depot to pick up a plant (as you do). I kindly point out (for the third time in as many days) that his tire is getting flat and needs air. He tells me it is fine (again).

We go to Home Depot.

By the time we come out of Home Depot, I inform him that his tire is now beyond flat, it looks a lot like the flats you see in cartoons, where the rubber is all saggy. He looks again and concedes. But we have no pump (we took it out of the van apparently when we were clearing it out to sell, before we realised he had lost the title mad.gif ) and he cleverly left his cellphone at home (as he informs me when I suggest calling AAA).

We go back into Home Depot.

Luckily the lady who served us on the checkout got someone to help us and they were able to pump the tire but you could hear the air hissing out of it. Jeremy then tells me that he drove over something on the freeway on the way home wacko.gif Exactly why he didn't sort it out earlier is beyond me - maybe something to do with the fact that he was an hour and a half late home from work whistling.gif

We get to Arco and he picks up some weird sealant spray that supposedly fixes flats and we rolled into the house at about 10pm... Great(!) 45 minutes later he is asleep as he wants to be in work at the crack of dawn...

Don't men realise that when us women nag, it is for a very good reason?! And that reason is because we know we are right?!?!?!?!?! laughing.gif Maybe one day he will listen... unsure.gif

AWww sorry to hear you had a crap evening. I can totally relate. When I want to get something done I just get so impatient and need it to be done NOW! C never wants to go out and do errands, so before I could drive in Miami it used to drive me crazy. (I'm so bad, I sometimes buy things in the shop just so I can have it, rather than wait a few days and get things much cheaper online)

But I will say, and it's probably not what you want to hear, but maybe you should give Jeremy a break. It sounds like he's doing a LOT of hours at work, and doing the best he can, and probably was just trying to put off dealing with the tire (though it sounds like it needed dealing with). And please don't go to any trouble on our account. I currently have 4 pieces of furniture in my whole apartment. A mattress, 2 patio chairs and a desk from Big Lots. While Maven is ahead of me in the furniture dept, she's still putting the house together too. Trust me, we're easy to please! And we can bring you stuff if you need it too.

Yeah - I do try to not give him *too* much of a hard time, but I know with him he is quite happy to go blow a load of money on something we don't need, yet we have something dire wrong with the van and he doesn't want to spend any money on it! I can understand because we want to sell it asap, but until we get the new title (which still hasn't shown up because he forgot to include payment with the form mad.gif)

Also I know the last tire he had on there had holes in it before it got changed ohmy.gif and even then he complained, told me it had been like it for ages and was "fine" laughing.gif I never thought I would miss MOTs...

Bring stuff I need?!?!?! rofl.gif Curtains?! Patio furniture, a dining table (eating in the baking hot living room or on the bed is getting *really* old) laughing.gif

I think at this point I will just be happy if the place is clean - we picked up another $10 folding table for some food space but we are going to have to utilise the kitchen counters as well and with the current numbers (Jeremy is still yet to invite anyone whistling.gif ) we have plenty of seating laughing.gif We also have beer and some red wine - need to buy some vodka and soda for mixers and I think we have some key limes in the fridge - I keep buying them cause they are cute then we never use them laughing.gif

Cleaned the windows today biggrin.gif Thing is, there is some kind of crusted on stuff that looks awful that I can't get off - looks like thinned down paint... might need to take a scalpel to it... maybe for Halloween laughing.gif

This isn't the first time I've read one of your rants and thought 'Jeremy IS Bill!" laughing.gif

Seriously, we fight more about this than most things. If something needs to be done (like errands, booking things, contacting someone, applying to a job etc), I'm the one that tells him the "plan" and when he doesn't do it after I've given him plenty of time to get it done, I'll get irritated calmly ask if he's gotten it done yet. He proceeds to tell me that he hasn't gotten a chance yet and that not everything runs on MY schedule. I'll ask *why* he hasn't done it yet, he'll ask why I'm nagging him and there it kicks off. unsure.gif

Perhaps for my psych dissertation, I should be looking at the male brain in more detail in relation to procrastination.

When I was younger I really thought that I didn't fit in to the stereotypical 'girlie' pattern. You know all those girls that go to the loo in pairs, and love shopping and all that stuff. laughing.gif - Totally - I mean, don't get me wrong - I do all the things I need to get done that I can get done and granted, I have a lot more time on my hands than Jeremy right now. But even when I was in the UK and working full time - if there was something that needed doing, I would do it asap so it was out of the way and I wouldn't have to worry about it!! Jeremy likes to think everything through, how he is going to do it, when he is going to do it, where he is going to do it, why he is going to do it... you get the idea... and then he will think of *every* alternative way of doing it to make sure he gets the best one. So after a month he *might* be ready to make a phone call about the $160 verizon bill we got (after not getting any service from them). Of course... pigs might fly...

Jeraly
I am SO p*ssed off right now it isn't even funny.

I called Jeremy an hour and a half ago, about 4.30pm to find out where he was because he was going to be home by 3pm today as he has worked so much overtime this week that the company literally can't afford to pay him anymore. It would make up for him not being back early and allow us to sort out all the billion and one things that we have to get ready for our party tomorrow, but weren't able to after the fiasco last night.

He tells me that he will be back real soon and that he is finishing work early tomorrow instead but he just needs to speak to one of his employees first. I figure on the talk and the drive home taking an hour as he works 16 miles away. Thinking it would be a nice surprise/change to cook dinner for once (normally I don't bother as I never know when he will be back) I put some chicken in the oven on a low temperature so it is nice and tender and can cook for an hour or so.

I've just turned the oven off. I called his cellphone and there was no answer. So I called his work. I think I got the employee he was speaking to on the phone and so after asking for Jeremy three times he figures out what I am saying (!) and says he will check. He then tells me that he thinks he is "still fixing his van" because it "got a flat"

So this dubious spray stuff I was skeptical at best of got him absolutely nowhere... aside from work where he now appears to be stranded. I called his cell a few more times and no answer. Eventually I leave a sh!tty message about his dinner being in the trash and thanks for calling to let me know what was going on.

I've moved the laptop and some gatorade into the bathroom and locked myself in as I can't actually lock him out of the house (he has keys) and I am soooo mad. He just tried to call and I ignored it - I figured if he was able to completely ignore my calls and let me worry then he can just see how it feels right back.

I am so freaking mad cray5ol.gif
Gemmie
Aww I'm sorry.. I'm not surprised you're so angry! I would be exactly the same!

Bill is always doing things like that and it seems like every time it happens, he agrees to try and stop putting things off, though the next time something happens again and I call him on it, he just gets annoyed at me because "well I didn't put *this* off until later..." Like that matters when you've accomplished one thing out of the five.

*sigh*

He even tells me that the reason he avoids telling me whenever he thinks/does things is because he knows he'll get a lecture about doing it now now now, and negative vibes. So what happens? It doesn't get done, it just stays in his head until I ask him about it... and THEN he gets a lecture.

Did Jeremy even acknowledge that he should take this as a reason to start doing things sooner?
Gemmie

Have you been able to get out to the World Market store in Omaha yet?

And add Nicky and we have a set of quadruplets. The f'ing Bank of America has been a thorn in our side...after being a customer for 3 months they still have not sent him his debit card. The first two were apparently lost in the mail, and after going into a branch to complain they said that they would have it sent to the branch and they would call him. That has been approx. 3 weeks. I've gave him reminders a few times as week but he just doesn't get on it. Same with the paypal issue he's been having...they refused to x-fer his money from his UK bank account to his US bank account but they still charged him all the fees (basically, what happened was they took the money out of the UK account but refused to deposit it in the US account...but they didn't want to redeposit in the UK bank account...he had the fanangle with them just to get it redeposited). Now they want him to pony up additional money for putting the money back into the UK account. I will give him credit for fighting with them as much as he has...but dammit they should not have charged you for NOT PROVIDING A SERVICE.

I find myself wish I could just take care of it but these problems are completely out of my hands. I understand that it is frustrating for him dealing with a new system...but nevertheless you have to deal with it.

Anyways, my Saturday is looking like this:

GO HUSKERS!!!

I do have to admit this year has gone fast. I'm quite sad that summer is about over...after all up here the weather was awful until the first couple weeks of June. It just feels like I got cheated out of a full summer of laying at the beach doing f' all.

That being said I do look forward to my American football good.gif
Jeraly
Ok - calmed down a bit now but have also hurt my hand... that added to the fact that I appear to be getting the same kind of bug I had last time (where I was in bed for three days, aching, coughing and sleeping and feeling guilty as hell for it) combined with the fact that I have had my so-called "monthly" for three weeks on the trot, I am feeling pretty crappy.

The good news is that I had a massive rant at Jeremy and he is not particularly enamoured working every hour under the sun either - especially when his fellow manager gets evenings and weekends off and leaves when she feels like it ranting33va.gif Oooh don't let me in a room alone with her... mad.gif

I *really* need this party tonight... really really really...

As for summer being almost over... well... it just doesn't feel like it here - although it is cloudy today. Which prolly means it is humid - yuck sad.gif It doesn't start really cooling off until the end of September though so smile.gif And I am dreading Christmas - it's going to be my first one away from home ever sad.gif
