Jakey-Matey
Hey all.

Today I have sent off the following to the US Embassy to resume the K1 process:

DS-156 (2x) (and not signed, did I do both of those right?)
DS-156K
DS-157
DS-230 Part I (page 1 and 2 are filled out, page 3 and 4 are blank, did I do that right?) (This was the only form that I did sign, did I do that right?)

And the Checklist back saying we are ready for our interview.

I assume I did not need to send anything else out for this part of the stage?

Thanks for any replies/advice/help smile.gif

Oh and P.S.

Anyone that has had an approved K1 visa from the US Embassy in London in the past 3 months, what was the time scale between mailing back out your packet and getting your interview date?

Thanks

Good luck to you. Looks like your well prepared.

Thank you, I believe we are fully prepared.

We have the following ready to show in terms of support for the interview:

- 2 notarized I-134s (one being a Co-Sponsor form)
- Receipts of things like: meals, gifts bought for eachother, things for our scrapbook like Cameras etc
- Bank statements
- Payslips
- Police clearance record
- Birth certificate
- Copies of every form we have sent to the USCIS, Embassy etc, and copies of our petition
- NOA1, NOA2, NVC approval letter
- Vaccination records
- Phone bills (text and phone calls)
- Emails
- Chat logs
- Affidavit of support to marry from my parents
- Letter of intent to marry (from my fiancee, July 3rd and a new one, January 16th)
- Letter of intent to support (from the petitioners mom + step dad, explaining how they will fully support me and house me)
- Passport stamps
- Flight documents (January 1st 2007, April 24th 2007 for me flying to America to be with petitioner) (November 24th for petitioner flying to England to be with me)
- Tickets of places visited
- Tax transcripts (W2s)

And a couple of other things which I can't remember off the top of my head, but is very safe in my heavy safe.

And what we believe to be our strongest support of a strong relationship, our gigantic 50+ page scrapbook, with over 100 pictures of eachother, in America and England, since we first met up until now and more is added daily.

I would say in my point of view, we are as prepared as we can be.

Would like to know if anything else can be added just in case or if anything else is NEEDED.

Thanks

I think you're well well prepared. You're almost done, congratulations! You must be getting so excited kicking.gif

You're screwing up the curve for the rest of us though! tongue.gif My fiance has to go through the London embassy too, when we get that far, and we have SIX (very bad too) pictures of us together. Not good xD And certainly not...meal receipts, god xD

Jealousy sad.gif

Good luck!

They didn't even look at any of our ongoing relationship evidence, so I wouldn't worry!

I must say looking at huge lists like this just makes me realise how much footwork there is still to do - think I have become complacent in the 6 months it took to process the I-129f!!!

Can anyone here remember the Embassy asking to see pictures/phone logs/chat logs at interview recently? Just wondering...

I wasn't asked for any proof of an ongoing relationship, I took a whole load of evidence to the interview and ended up carting it round London for the day.
Looking back at the packet 3 it doesn't ask for proof of an ongoing relationship yet we all take it, don't know why huh.gif Its certainly not on the checklist. Better safe than sorry I suppose.

That's what I thought too -- I had photocopies of wedding cards, our wedding invitation, photos of us and our families together. Not a lot, but I brought it anyway. Packet 3 is silent, as you say... But I think we just get so neurotic!

We have developed over 10 rolls of film and have put half of it into our scrapbook, the rest we have as regular photos, so yes, we have photos too smile.gif

And just so everyone knows, we are taking so much because if for whatever reason they do want proof of a strong relationship, we will give them everything we have to show that, and we mean EVERYTHING.

In our point of view, the more prepared you are, the better.

I meant your passport photos. The 2"x2" ones, American size. I got mine from Max Spielmans, 6 for £5. The chinese lady asked me about them, I was getting worried that they wouldnt be acceptable, she did however accept them, no problem.

Are they the 2"x2" ones requested, though? The standard UK photobooth ones are not the same size. Although there is a photobooth in the Embassy that produces the correct size, people have reported it being out of service.

Well, the ones I got at the photobooth are passport photos, and those worked last time for the DS-156 when I applied for the B2 visa.

Hey Jakey Matey,
Sounds perfect, I sent the same in on the 17th of January. Doesn't it feel good to get it off & away. I was happy to see it go =)
I used recorded delivery to be thorough & now I wish I had used UPS because when I try tracking it online on www.royal mail, it doesn't recognise my ref. number.
SO annoying because it is the correct 13 digit number, it's driving me nuts... I am going to try calling the embassy tomorrow to check they received it.
How did you send yours? I did my forms just the same as you did...
Also, may I ask, when did you request your police certificate? Did you go into a police station in person? As I was in NY for pup's (my fiance) b'day & Christmas, I sent mine in the mail. As I couldn't do registered mail from the states, I now can't check to see whether they've received it or not =( It's making me really worried....
Just trying to figure out how long it took to come, seeing as we're on the same time scale. I haven't sent in my four pages requesting the interview yet. Want to get the MPS receipt & will send then. Only thing is I wish to travel at the end of Feb & so need it asap...
ARRRGGGHHH
On a brighter note though. I had my medical today & all went well. Sorry, it's not on the timeline everyone, my fiance's in charge of that & he can't see the gap for it...
It was a fast & pain free process, well, minus the needles I guess... If anyone has any questions feel free to ask. I was done in less than an hour. Only needed one vaccination so that was good & fingers crossed the Embassy will have the results by Friday =) Yippeee... Bring on the interview... I'm on a roll now...
If anyone has any tips on how to speed up the process for getting a date please share as I'm going around the bend here on my own, missing my puppy
Good Luck everyone...

They are very specific about the US passport photos, the standard UK passport photos are a totally different size. We went to snappy snaps to get them TOTAL RIP OFF!!! But they are what they asked for...wish I had done this though...you can make your own for £3.00.
