Just a couple quick questions for those who have gone through the two days medical in Manila. Basically, how long did each days of testing take? First and second day..? Also are you allow to bring electronic into SLEC like digicams and cellphone and can you bring bulky items like a bagpacks with your cloths in the even that you checked out of your hotel room?

What abt the next day's testing, how long did that 2nd day take? I always thought you went back for more testing and not just to receive your results.. What abt the hotel you stayed that night? How much money did it cost you per night? Thank you for your replies...

immunization is given on the next day. it wont take long...VJ's adviced everyone not to go there Monday to avoid crowd.its much better if you go there after lunch.medical is really fast...the staffs work fast...on my case,i was waited 1 hour at the lobby b4 my name called to pay to the cashier, maybe the cashier came late to work,LOL!
i had no immunization coz i already had it last 2006 (its my 2nd time at St. Lukes).
theres a lot of hotels near the hospital...if you sleep only one night,it wont cost you P1000 if you look around and see w/c is cheaper.

I think the 2nd day depends if you need immunization.. If you don't need immunization, basically the 2nd day for you is just clearing and picking up the result..

Just a reminder, the second day of medical is not always fast. Meryll spent 5 hours at SLEC along with several other VJers last week. Hopefully, the second day will return to closer to two hours.

Blood test is not a fasting exam so it is ok to eat and you can also eat inside while waiting for your name to be called. Some bring their own foods inside. Some went out to eat but the problem is when your name is called and you're out, your papers will go way back on the their list/line.
They will usually tell you what time you have to go back on the 2nd day for the immunization/vaccine shots and to give you the Chest x-ray plates and immunization records. I was asked to come back at 1pm. The 2nd day is no longer on a first-come first-served basis but will depend whether your medical exam results and records on the first day has been completed.
Never go on Mondays as they are always busy and crowded and it is okay to go there after lunch time. Thursdays usually have a shorter line of applicants.
Good Luck to everyone!

Immunization is not a test.. It is something you need if your missing some shots on your record..
Maybe you mean clearance?

Question...
Is 3 weeks before the Interview too early for getting an early medical?
Are they going to send my wife home if she showed up for Early Medical?
What are the typical reasoning for the guard to let you in for Early Medical?
Please give some advice.. Or wife is going to kill if she ask me this and I don't know what to say to her..

Immunization/Vaccination, i don't know what the medical term is but you need to have the measles, mumps and rubellla vaccines after you get your xray and physical exam result. Even if you had the vaccine when you were a kid, the medical staff would still give you that vaccine unless you already had them like a year ago. Its a requirement before you can travel to the US.

I had it 5 weeks before the interview. They are not going to send your wife home if she shows her appointment letter to the guard. They will let her in and give her some forms to fill up so she must bring a black pen with her.

Roserick sorry if I had you confused with my post awhile back. Let me sum up what happened to my medical. I filled up the forms, paid the fee, medical staff took my blood pressure, tested my vision, doctor interviewed me and did the physical exam, blood and urine test and then xray. I was told to comeback the next day. Comes morning the next day, the guard will tell you on where to go next. I was told to get my xray result and then the staff at the xray section said that i can go to the immunization room. I had the vaccine on my right and left arm. The needle was painful on the right arm. They made me wait for the vaccination documentation worksheet at the ground floor where they took my passport and 2 pcs 2x2 pictures at the same time.
I hope this helps

You should be fine on the early medical. Becky got her's on the 3rd with no problems. She went on a Thursday and Friday afternoon, around 12:30. Do make sure the first day that there are no red flags flying. They can't do the urine tests if that's the case.

Sorry. The second day of SLEC is normally much faster than the first day. As someone recently posted, some VJers can get through SLEC in as short as two hours on the second day.
Roserick, I did not ask what happened. Even here in the States a patient can wait two to three hours to see a physician for 5 minutes. After awhile you do not care what the reason for the delay is, only that you can get out of the place.
Djturbo, what I meant is that even though the second day of medical is suppose to be short, it can end up being a long day.
Hope the medical goes well for your asawas.
