How do you check on NVC to see when your petition gets there. It gets a new number right? From what I've been seeing it only takes a few days to a couple weeks to get there? How long is it at NVC and what do they do with it?

The phone number for NVC is 603-334-0700. Best time to call is early morning or late at night. Give your case at least a week before you call. I gave it exactly a week and got lucky. smile.gif They'll ask for your case number, just give them your USCIS receipt number and they'll let you know if it's there or not. If they do have it, make sure you get the NVC case number. More info at http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3177.html .

Mox, are you going there for the interview? Things are really happening fast for you now. I just noticed recently you are approved and April interview, that would be awesome! Are you all ready?
It's amazing how fast the approvals seem to be coming now. I hope that doesn't clog up the embassies for interview. That would be just my luck lol.

I'm not going to Moscow for the interview. I'd love to go, but Moscow is a really expensive city and we decided it's money better spent if I stay here. Am I all ready? Hell NO! LOL! I feel like I'm at the top of the first hill on a roller coaster, staring down at the rest of the track. Reality is starting to really hit, and I know once I have the interview date in hand I'm going to be under more stress than waiting for NOA2 ever caused. smile.gif But it's also a great feeling to finally be out of the quagmire that is CSC, and really starting to move.

That's a good way of describing it. We felt like this exactly. And now we're only 3 weeks away from her returning to Virginia and I have sooo much to do in preparation. I dont know where to start. laughing.gif I have a couple days off from work over the weekend, so I'll use this time to begin.

I'm officially legitimate to join this thread finally. Got approved last night and I'm still in shock. It's sinking in and it's just an incredible feeling after all this time and the worry is over (for the most party anyway). I have lots of other stuff going on too (moving, kids graduating, my clinic merged with a big conglomerate and we're busy busy busy) so I want and need to join in here for your help if you guys don't mind. I have so many questions about the next steps and my first one is this...

I was making this scrapbook before the interview. Luckily enough I managed to finish it. It was 5kg heavy (10 pounds). I left the other document printing for the last 3 days before the interview. 3 days before the interview my printer stopped communicating with my computer and I spent whole night trying to fix it. It was just awesome. The other documents were another 5kg (another 10 pounds).
At the interview they only wanted to see the few papers they asked for in Packet 3, nothing else.
Noone ever wanted to see my scrapbook tongue.gif

no one wanted to see the masses of photos, emails and conversations I took either. Just the forms and my bank statement for self sponsoring. It was the biggest anti-climax after all the months of stress!

Awww, we are delayed so can't join yet but I am watchin for when we can. We would like a silver bean bag please wink.gif

We are being held up due to the UK police certificate. There was a bit of a misunderstanding on our part so we delayed our Statement of Reddiness for 3 weeks. But we are moving along now. Hopefully the cert will be in 2 weeks. Interview in a month. Then YAY back together again! I am going nutz without the lad with me. But we can see that light now at the end of the tunnel and have become absolutely giddy. Teehee

I had a wee suprise today. Although I don't actually finish work until Tuesday one of the big clients of the law firm I work for found out I was leaving and sent me a huge bunch of flowers today. When I say huge, I mean huge, these things were like 2ft across. It's all red, white and blue flowers with a big scottish thistle in the middle and the card said "hope your move goes well and you enjoy your new life in America, just never forget your roots and the people here that care about you!" How nice was that? I was in tears when they came in and that started the other receptionist off too! I'm going to be terrible on tuesday when I finish up.

Wow - I would have blubbed like a baby!! biggrin.gif

Beautiful Pictures ALY.......I guess you finished those vows.....LOL......I am so behind on reading the thread. Ahmed had his Interview on February 11th and we are in Limbo waiitng on the visa to be issued. They said 2 to 3 weeks but that deadline will be over on Monday. We just pray it is not as long as some we have seen here. My wedding plans are going good. I have bought Bridesmaid dresses.....flower girl and ringbearer clothes.......ring bearer pillows and flower girl basket......I also made my bridal boquet myself. However, none of it is doing any good without a husband to be. I am trying to have patience but I am not really known for patience. But in this instance I have no choice but to wait.

the visa-paperwork- BS wedding was february 12th. smile.gif smile.gif smile.gif

well, i actually don't even check the mailbox on a daily basis. i alway go and look if the others in the AOS-february-group got mail. and when they get mail, i somehow get mail, too smile.gif. so turns out, i'm not as excited. the thought of a job excites me much more.
and after the K1-paperwork the AOS seems to be pretty much straight forward.

it is troublesome to call the uscis-panel-physicians and to aks them how much they charge for the vaccination-paper, but that's about it.

how's "married life", mrs. redinger? smile.gif
Jeraly
Haha - well married life would be better if I were with my man but I am sure you can relate to that!! I find it really funny that we have both kinda done the same thing and have the same feelings about the "paperwork" wedding we are going to have!!!

Have updated AOS spreadsheet with the "technicality" biggrin.gif laughing.gif

AOS seems straightforward from what I have read - you pretty much send off the forms and you're away - just a waiting game smile.gif I think NOA1/2 during K-1 are that much more exciting because they are milestones to being together and not just some notification that some paperwork is in an office somewhere smile.gif Tbh I am looking forward to getting out there and putting my feet up for a bit!! Won't be going through JFK at least it is very unlikely so I will be a kept woman until about... Sept/Oct/Nov smile.gif My BS paperwork-visa-crap is going to be in August smile.gif

can't believe I head out in 10 days. I need some gadget that shrinks possesions and clothing down or a bottomless suitcase something like mary poppins' carpet bag!!!! Definatly not going to be able to take everything I wanted too.
Jeraly
Did you consider getting those storage things where you pack all your stuff in them then hook up the vacuum to it then it sucks out all the air?! It would save on space but might make it a bit heavier smile.gif

I am soooo excited for you!! I can't wait to hear all about it - make sure you post lots of photos everywhere so I can stare at them enviously tongue.gif
CBR
I'm so bad at keeping up with the posts here. I just checked out your pics Aly...Beautiful!! Congratulations biggrin.gif You both look so happy and make a cute couple.

I'm so happy that I can now read this thread without having the sad feelings attached (pre-noa2 blues gone!). It's going to be so exciting to hear more and more interview stories and POE stories and wedding stories dancin5hr.gif It's just amazing to finally be heading out of CSC finally. I really thought it would never happen, seriously NEVER.

We had discussed our wedding plans over the months, but now I have to move soon and am having a hard time finding a place to go. It's going to occupy my time at least and before I know it I'll be rushing off to Montreal to bring my honey home!

Right now I'm working on the I-134 stuff and still kinda confused on what I all need. Mostly the tax stuff has me confused. I want to get a transcript and just send that, but it takes 10 days. I want to get this pack out to my fiance this week if possible so I could just make copies of the 1040 and my w-2's right? Someone somewhere mentions also sending a 1099. What's that? Does everybody have one? I looked it up and there's like 20 different 1099's out there (with different letters attached). None of them sound like anything that pertains to me. Also, I was married a couple years ago so I have to send my ex's w-2 also?

For the letter from my employer, can my supervisor just write it on letterhead or does it need to come from the HR dept?

How much over poverty lvl is safe to not have to send asset info? I'm more than twice that amount and I included my 2 kids and fiance. Am I safe with just income?

I should probably be posting this elsewhere but I did and only some of my questions were answered. I know we have some excellent experts on this thread wink.gif

I'm not too sure as it is a US thing but I know that Jeremy called some IRS automated service for them to send his tax returns for the past three years - the originals he found say "Form W-2" on them if that helps at all..?!

For the letter from my employer, can my supervisor just write it on letterhead or does it need to come from the HR dept?

I don't know if it matters tbh - Jeremy got his from the HR department but I am sure if it contained the same info and was on headed paper then it might be ok - don't quote me on that though...

How much over poverty lvl is safe to not have to send asset info? I'm more than twice that amount and I included my 2 kids and fiance. Am I safe with just income?

If you're double the poverty level and accounting for your two kids in that then you don't need to worry about assets. You are only required to make 125% of the poverty level - if you were below that then they might need to consider assets but you should be fine smile.gif Also - I want your job tongue.gif laughing.gif

I should probably be posting this elsewhere but I did and only some of my questions were answered. I know we have some excellent experts on this thread wink.gif

I do the same - I am fed up of posting elsewhere and getting people being either a) totally unhelpful and sarcastic or cool.gif ignoring posts completely wink.gif

Sorry, like Aly I'm Briddish and don't have a clue about US tax thingies. I wouldn't have thought you'd need your ex's w-2's though. They are mostly interested in what your current income is and although 3 years worth is asked for I doubt it would matter if your earned nothing 3 years ago if the past 2 years you've been receiving a good income.
I'm just guessing on that though smile.gif

QUOTE

My (future smile.gif! )mother-in-law had a terrible time getting a letter from the HR dept. They would do it but wanted to send it direct to the consulate or a lawyer rather than me, so in the end, after taking advice, we got a supervisor to write all the info on a company letterhead and sign it.

Like Aly said - you're safe. J's mom earns more than twice the amount too so we didn't send asset info. It's really not required unless you're borderline.

Ha! It's not just me that experiences this then. Sometimes it takes a while before someone really helpful spots those questions.
CBR
Thanks you guys! Yea, the tax part is what's really confusing me. I'll probably just call for the transcripts tomorrow and wait for them. Maybe they won't take the full 10 days. I figured they'd need my ex's w-2 because he's on the taxes from 2006 and 2005. I have been working at my job for 11 years and my income is about the same since 2005 so that's not a problem. So glad I don't have to deal with assets bc frankly I have none lol. The divorce kinda took care of that.

Babblesgirl, I just noticed how fast your petition is zipping along!! I've been studying people's signatures & timelines now that i have the noa2 to see how long the next few steps take and it seems so fast! I"m so excited!!

a-jeanne
It's great to hear that things are moving right along for you CBR. I am so happy for you! I worked on the I-134 when Phil was here but I had a lot of it filled out last November. I understood that you only need the tax forms if you are self employed. Maybe I'm wrong and we may have problems at the Embassy, but I didn't include them. Because I was over the poverty level, and had the letter from my bank and employer I didn't think I needed them.

I have been calling the Embassy in hopes to get the interview date. Phil has already booked a ticket for another visit on March 13th. I am looking forward to seeing him again. We have been very fortunate to have spent so much time together during this process - which still SUCKS by the way. As long as you get away from the USCIS, it's much better. I checked on line and according to the USCIS site, our petition is still pending. blush.gif

Good Luck to everyone!

CBR
Hmm, I'm thinking you do need to send the past 3 years of tax returns & w-2's OR a tax transcript. You may want to look into that a little more. Has Phil sent packet 3 back yet?
Maybe you can get them to him quick?

@babbles - I'm not so sure on the tax thing either - Jeremy got tax returns from the IRS but handed me the W-2s as well - I am guessing they are like our P-60s? Who knows - he seems to understand it better than me though so!!

At least the pics look good though - pain is worth it!! Actually it wasn't too bad but I *do* need to lose weight before June again!!

Firstly, isn't this so exciting to see so many of our fellow July Filers getting approved and finally able to be together?!?!

Secondly, I know this has beendiscussed in other threads, but I didn't really seem to be able to really find answers in other threads. So, here goes:

My Aussie will be here in 2 weeks. What do you recommend as far as the order of what should be done when he gets here? We'd like for him to be able to work as soon as he can. Apparently they don't give a work permit at the POE any more, so what is the best route to getting my Aussie to work? Is anyone else on this list running into this issue now?

Thanks in advance!

Yep. As more and more July filers get closer to interview and moving, this thread gets fuller and fuller. Was a good idea, Jeraly. A transitional thread. I guess she'll have on for AOS as well. yes.gif

Well this can be used for it all wink.gif Thing is with AOS is we will all be filing at different times and will join the respective month threads in that forum for when we all file. This place is so we can all keep up to date with how we are getting on once we have made the big move - so we can hang out and chat and b*tch about AOS being so lame and cry on each others shoulders when we are feeling homesick and sad, swap notes on crazy things that are happening, share stories about how our OHs are being really lame right now wink.gif

BUT!!!

I want to know how Parul and StP got on!!! NO FAIR!!!!

You would get a 1099 if you were getting paid without having any deductions taken out for federal and state taxes. They also send them out for other things like gambling winnings and dividends. Not everybody gets them. It most likely is something that doesn't pertain to you so I wouldn't worry about it. We went through a different embassy then you so I am not too sure what Montreal likes to see. I know when we went they didn't even look anything we brought at all except the I-134. I did have a copy of my most recent 1040's along with the originals for them to see and only my w-2's. I hope this helps and good luck to you! Congrats on getting your NOA2! good.gif
CBR
Thanks Gareth's Girl. I wouldn't have a 1099 then. I think I"m all set with the i134 now. Just have to wait for the tax transcripts (don't want to ask my ex for his 2006 w-2.. don't think that's right). I hope that's good enough. Also have to wait for HR to send the employer letter to me but then I can send it all to Jeremy so he can flip packet 3 back when it comes.

He's going to get his police clearance thingy today and his immunization record.

If anybody feels ambitious here would you mind listing what things I should be sending him? I just want to make quadruple sure that I'm not forgetting anything. So far I have:

*I-134 notarized with supporting docs (tax transcripts x3 years, 4 payroll stubs, letter from employer...what else?)

*updated letter of intent to marry

Is that really it??? All the other DS forms & such are for him to fill out right? I saw another confusing thread that sounded like the USC was filling them out and sending them to the fiance. That didn't make sense to me. It's all about HIM from now on smile.gif
