USCIS can still do nothing for us...looks like we will have to wait till the middle of July or something. Thatīs when they should publish new processing times on their website. Only then they can do something but Iīm not even sure what tongue.gif

we didn't hear anything from our AOS yet. its driving me crazy to see other people getting their GC and NOTHING here. *sigh* the processing times of the local office here in tucson say that they are currenty working on AOS from AUGUST 2007. guess it will take a while longer......

Congrats on the successful journey!!! Welcome to the US!! Big hugs! luv.gif

Reading your posts takes me back to our process a few years ago. I moved here from Africa, found the prospect of all the paperwork daunting, but like all of you, waded through it and finally became a citizen two years ago. I wish I had access to a forum like this at the time - would have been a great inspiration and help!

To those of you still going through the immigration motions, hang in there. I know how frustrating it can be, but getting through and being with that special person in your life, is really worthwhile. Makes your relationship part of a very unique club! star_smile.gif

Congrats to those of you that have made it here. The adjustments are difficult and plenty at first, but once you adapt and/or assimilate, the experience is enriching and rewarding.

Scott and Marta
You girls luv.gif

And sorry to hear about the lost pic STP rose.gif
BabyBlueSusie
aww marta, way cute!! you must be sooo excited biggrin.gif

on another note, i would like to announce that i am officially the top albanian poster, as reported by my portal...i just recently overtook the girl who was on top for as long as i have been here...i didnt do it intentionally, but woot woot, go me kicking.gif

also, we are having a major adjustment period here in indiana...he basically hates it here...he absolutely cannot handle being without a job, and he hates being in the house all day...there is nobody here for him to talk to except for me, and he is just feeling really down lately...i try not to take it personally, but its hard because i try and try and i still cant make him happy, it is out of my hands...it could be worse though, i think back to when we were apart for so long, and things seem glorious again tongue.gif we took a trip to chicago on sunday, which was pretty fun...we went to this thing called 'taste of chicago' festival, which basically allowed you to go around to all different booths and taste food from a bazillion chicago restuarants...we will definitely be taking another trip there because its so close (1.5 hour drive)...we will also go to the beach on friday, and we have been doing some hiking and nature walk stuff to get him out of the house...im having fun, its just a bit boring here...i wish he could be more optimistic, but i know its hard for him

well, enough rambling...i hope everyone is doing wonderfully!!!
Scott and Marta
W00t protest6wz.gif That absolutely gives you the title "The Absolute Cheater" tongue.gif You promised youīd behave and now you are the top poster there! ohmy.gif Iīm going to faint tongue.gif

You said Adriano was taking English lessons there now right? So hopefully heīll find some new friends there soon to talk to smile.gif Thatīs always good good.gif And is his English improving much or just slowly? You just have to get used to a slower pace of life I guess smile.gif But it sounds like you are still having fun so thatīs good smile.gif kicking.gif
StillThePrettiest
yay for top-posting Susie! laughing.gif kicking.gif
I think there should be trophies for that sort of thing, or at LEAST a medal wink.gif

glad you guys had fun in Chicago, but I'm sorry the adjustment is so difficult sad.gif
is there ANYTHING Adriano can work at, round the house? what about starting a garden? it can be a good project and if he grows veges you could save yourselves some money too wink.gif
otherwise, what about meetup.com? you never know who's meeting near you and you could get to know some cool people that way... Dave and I are going to try it out soon smile.gif

Marta, can we see the ultrasound picture? pretty please? *big eyes*

haha i am soooo not a cheater, i won fair and square!! laughing.gif

i tried to get him to go to this english class, but he told me that he doesn't want to...sooo annoying, because i wanted him to go so he can learn english, but mainly, like you said, i thought he might be able to make a friend or two, maybe even someone who could help him out with a job...hes too stubborn though, so we have been working on english between the two of us...since he has been in indiana, he has been improving much faster than when we were in ny...so thats a good thing smile.gif

a medal would do just fine biggrin.gif

the garden sounds like a nice idea, i dont know if its manly enough for him though...ill ask him and see what he says...he might go for the veggie idea, because he lived on a farm until he was about 6 years old, and as a result, he absolutely lovessss fresh veggies...we are going to go to the farmer's market on saturday which i am sure he will love...meetup has a possible group thatll work for us, but its in chicago and only meets once a month...better than nothing though...our city has groups, but nothing related to us...its basically all church related things or political...anyway, i will let everyone know how things progress...wish us luck!

Hi guys. It's been a long time since I posted in here. Brian got his visa on April 30th. When he'd returned from his interview in London, his mum took a turn for the worse and passed away on May 19th. We've sort of been dealing with all the fallout from that. Tomorrow we will buy him a ticket to come here, most likely September-ish so he can bring the cat. We'll get married asap and have a formal party later. I'm very very tired.

Glad to see everyone's doing well. luv.gif

Ok so not all of us have made it yet... In fact we are waiting on the first of our July veterans to cross the pond on Thursday (17th if I am correct!). But this is where it's at!!

Obviously we have all moved at different speeds throughout the process, with different service centres processing cases, RFEs, delayed processing times, difference in embassy efficiency... We are such a huge group and get on so well though that it would be a pity to lose touch as we join our respective AOS threads etc...

Instead of clogging up the K-1 forum (as by the time this gets really underway we won't be K-1ers anymore!!) I thought that a move to a cosy place where we can vent, share our experiences and support each other through the next steps of our journey was in order smile.gif

So pull up a bean bag and let rip! Let us know how you're settling in, how AOS is treating you and anything else - you know what we're like!! We don't shut up!! biggrin.gif

Ok - I'll stop ranting about this now wink.gif

*pulls up a squashy, soft yellow orange bean bag - the colour of sunshine biggrin.gif *

Ok, I just found this thread, im here now lol
StillThePrettiest
ohhhhhh, Marta, how lovely smile.gif

and I think we're ALL fragile like that, Poiteen... it's amazing how robust we can be, when you stop to think about it wink.gif
and babies are more bendable than anyone; they can do all sorts of things and not hurt themselves biggrin.gif

OH MARTA!! They are sooo gorgeous! I never know what to say when people show scans and you can't make out what it is but it has a tiny little head and everything - does it feel weird to have something growing inside you like that?!!?!?

Ahhh - ok I need to write a really comprehensive POE review (cause I am too picky to settle for anything less) but I have 100 e-mails to check!!! Ahhhh!!! It was so peaceful without the net but I did miss you guys luv.gif
Scott and Marta
Thank you everybody biggrin.gif Nah tongue.gif It doesnīt feel weird, it feels great biggrin.gif If you come here Iīll show you the dvd, you will love it biggrin.gif

You have a nice new ticker btw biggrin.gif
Scott and Marta
Well the quality of the pics isnīt too good cuz itīs a small resolution scan, but yeah sometimes on ultrasounds you can barely see a thing...that depends how far along the lady is. Sometimes they go to have it done too early so the baby is too tiny. But our baby is already 8cm and we could see so much stuff it was doing biggrin.gif

I told you, I am impervious to your cake throwing ways!!!! Stop trying to mess with my LIFE. tongue.gif
rae_and_scott
I don't know what's going on with everybody but I can say that with Scott here and no work at the moment I've been in front of my computer way less. wink.gif

So Aly, when you get back online and feel like messing with the spreadsheet, I have some updates. biggrin.gif I think our lawyer sent our AOS package on June 25th -- I have asked her a few times and she hasn't answered me on the exact date. At any rate, she said it should have been delivered on June 30th. I haven't heard anything since then so I'm assuming this all happened smoothly. Our check hasn't been cashed yet and no NOA1s as far as I know yet.

As an aside, do you guys think that makes us June or July AOS filers?
*julez*
Given my vast knowledge of the AOS process, I'd say you are June filers!

But if you ask around here in the genereal forums, you may be subject to harsh reminders, that in the eyes of the USCIS, there is NO SUCH THING as monthly filers. laughing.gif

Now go back to doing whatever it is that you do with Scott as his chief entertainer! tongue.gif
rae_and_scott
laughing.gif

Yeah and as far as the SSN offices are concerned there's no such thing as Customer Service there either. I never did call VSC last year but after reading about everyone's hassles with them and just now listening to Scott's phone call with SSN to try to find out any updated info, I think they have the same people working for them.

So I just updated my timeline. I put June 25th for our filing date even though I'm not sure that's what it was... I feel annoyed with that. But that's what date you all put for filing too, right -- the date you mailed the package? I'm so anal that I'm thinking maybe I should change it to the 26th b/c our lawyer said she would send it the night of the 25th but she was in Europe then so really to me that's the 26th... Maybe I need to get a life. laughing.gif

Definitely. I hear they sell them for 10 bucks down at the South Street Sea Port. laughing.gif

What kills me about this whole lawyer business is that you guys actually paid her for all of this uncertainty!

She is so messing with your LIVES.
rae_and_scott
laughing.gif

Actually, luckily, we have not. We've only paid 25% of her fee thus far. I'm kinda expecting a big bill soon though... unsure.gif

*skips off to go buy that life, which sounds like a great deal!*
*julez*
Yeah, they have really great knock off available! Everyone will believe that you really are Cameron Diaz! Enjoy! laughing.gif

The lawyer will never forget to bill you for the balance! You coulda paid me $100 to do the paperwork for you, and I would have fed exed it for you and signed you up for email notification for its delivery status!
rae_and_scott
Well now that's a tempting offer... wink.gif
Poiteen
Well I'll be a July arriver laughing.gif does that count? And since i'm CR-1 then technically that's when I both apply for and am approved for my AOS. So I'm a July filer and approval too biggrin.gif

wooo, I want that kinda speedy timing! wink.gif

Actually all I really care about is getting AP quickly. Well, and EAD would be nice too.

Wait it looks like you are an August arriver... how's that working?
Scott and Marta
She arrives to USA in July but to LA in August smile.gif

Ok letīs talk about speedy AP approvals biggrin.gif I am waiting for the next Monday or Tuesday or so. Thatīs when new processing dates should appear on the USCIS webpage and that one will definately give me right to shout at them biggrin.gif

Hey itīs so embarassing. I couldnīt find this thread. As soon as someone started some July 08 K1 thread, our thread doesnīt appear in my search anymore so I had to find it all the way through Alyīs profile page tongue.gif

Hahah - Jeremy is rebuilding my puter as we speak - I've been using his (overly cluttered, disorganised, messy) laptop since I got here so no access to my bookmarks (yeah yeah I know I could still find the spreadsheet tongue.gif ) but when I have my baby back then I will get on it!!

Am all happy at the moment - have had a couple of really good non-homesick days (and Jeremy had yesterday and today off luv.gif ) so am feeling rather good. And we checked out the pool today - I can't believe how warm the water is!! biggrin.gif

I have started wondering ...shall we place bets on my AP, EAD approval? Do you think itīs gonna take longer than the K1 last year? laughing.gif Cuz you know...itīs so complicated to approve THAT tongue.gif
