Yeah I know but it is so close now - I am just not looking forward to the goodbyes and until I go I think I am going to just be nervous about everything - being in work is great cause it is taking my mind off of things, but I am soooo tense right now I can feel the muscles in my body bunching up into knots >< Hopefully when Jeremy gets here on Wednesday he can help calm me down or at least give me hugs.

Two weeks' time and I will be in the air...

I know how I felt with the flying. I had a homesick day yesterday but on the whole things are good. AOS paperwork nearly complete, just waiting on joint sponsor getting forms to me. Should be ready to mail in about a week. I'm feelong weirdly zen about everything just now.

I've come out of my 'honeymoon' state now, we've been married nearly a month now. We are soooo happy. So here's the update:
Peter got here through JFK on 04/14, he got the temporary work permit stamp. He went to work a week before we married for a temp agency doing manual labor. It's awful work (hot in Texas), but he gets paid daily and they take him to the worksites ( we have only one car and he has no license). I went to the DPS office to change my name on my license and was told for him to get his driver's license, he needs his EAD or green card. Sigh. That was a blow....he has his SSN and we put him on my checking account. Bit by bit we are getting there. It's been good having his small paycheck, but the work is beneath him by far. I have to remind him that he doesnt have to have a car for this job, and being temporary, he won't be 'losing a job' when his temporary permit expires. Plus, he's building good work references (he's such a good guy-everyone loves him!).
Now we are finalizing the AOS papers and everything else to mail off in the next week. I'm on vacation for the summer and enjoying cooking for Peter and taking care of him. We know the next few months will be rather lean financially so our expectations are realistic. I think that is the key to not getting discouraged....keep the expectations real!

Well...all for now. I hope everyone is doing well and are happy. We are truly thankful to be together, and despite the financial difficulties..we're truly blissful!

Nothing so far I think it´s about time to give USCIS a call

I know it might still be early to be freaking out about it. I will have to fly in about 2 months from now. That should give USCIS plenty of time for them to send me my AP. But I guess it being over 90 days now is making me suspicious and nervous that something is wrong or that something got lost and that there won´t be enough time to get a replacement or something. Also I promised myself not to get any plane tickets before I receive the AP so I´m still waiting and I´d love to already get the tickets.

I'd definitely give them a call, you are over the 90 day mark now. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Marta - at least you didn't already book the tickets so you can change your plans a little I am sure it is nothing to worry about - just USCIS being lame as usual

This time tomorrow Jeremy will be here! I can't wait! I have been planning a surprise Bachelor Party for him via my brother because he never had one before Means I have to surrender him for this Saturday evening but I figure if it makes him happy...

So we called the customer service and once again they proved themselves It´s still just a misinformation line. First guy couldn´t even find the AP number in the system so he transfered us somewhere else and the next person spoke bad English. She found the AP in the system, but couldn´t really understand our questions so we figured we´d try tomorrow someone else cuz arguing with a goat gives you no information and it makes the goat angry. Only info that came out of her was that they are now working on aplications from February. Yeah right.

Is there something about the 90 day mark I don´t know?

You must bring proof of identity and any notices that you have received from USCIS in connection with your application for employment authorization.

Just a quick pop in. Scott is here. We have been insanely busy. I'm not exactly sure why I chose to move him down, get married, and file for his green card all in the same week! So we are running around taking care of tons of details, but it's good.

Marta, I really hope you hear something on your AOS stuff. I believe you'll be fine to travel in 2 months, but it must be stressful when the average on VJ is around 60 days and you are quite over that. I hope that doesn't happen to us, as Scott is supposed to be best man in a wedding in early October. I really hope you hear something soon.

Rachel I posted a reply in that post about the work authorized stamp. We got one at port Huron without asking. Kinda interesting. Jeremy is going to try to get work at a temp agency to start off so that he can stop working when it expires & start back up when EAD comes.

you might have guessed from my immature comment, but we wont be having any kids for a good while

we are here in indiana now and adriano officially hates it...he is the king of premature judgments though, so i know he will come around to it soon enough....anytime he arrives somewhere new, he instantly claims that he hates it and wants to go home, kind of like a little kid i guess...he starts english classes again on monday, so hopefully that helps him with the adjusting a bit...im not super thrilled either, but i am excited to get back to my studies and what not...the apartment is absolutely beautiful, everything is newly renovated and its spacious, and cheap!! we dont have enough things to fill it just yet though something else exciting is that we bought a car with some of our wedding gift monies

so that's that...im missing ny a bit, but trying not to think about it too much...oh the culture, oh the excitement of the big city!!!

Ohhh Susie!! I am so behind things here that I have no idea who is doing what and when and whatnot! Things have been a little crazy here - had my last day of work yesterday and have to call shipping companies today as well as pack up the rest of my things >< I'm getting there but it is a slow process.

Feeling a little more chilled about things but still nervous - it peaks and troughs but having Jeremy here really helps - it's like even though I am moving away from almost everything I know, at least I have him by my side so it isn't so bad

I think I am going to need a grand overview when I move of what has been going on with everyone!!!

Thank you all for your congratulations! We are married. Wow, it's weird to say that. Scott and I both are kind of just laughing about it because it's kind of odd and really cool and I don't think it's sunk in for either of us, but it's pretty awesome. I will post pictures as soon as I get them sorted.

We had a nice dinner with all of our parents and it went so much better than we were expecting. Our parents were meeting for the first time and everyone's divorced and some are remarried so Scott and I were super stressed about it. It went better than we thought it possibly could, so I am so happy about that. We're still spending time with some of them today, so I'm keeping this short.

I feel very happy.

I would if I had one! We still have to shop for one. It's going to be a very casual, just us and our parents kinda thing so it's no biggie. We'll be having a bigger reception in Canada later towards fall.
