*sneakin in to see whats going on here*

hi everybody, just made it over here. Of course I already got my beanbag set up whistling.gif
@englishmuffin CONGRATULATIONS u made it. Cant wait to read about more arrivals...
@Jeraly the certificate thing really is a lovely idea
Jeraly
Wow - you have a really funky chair!! biggrin.gif I love the whole beanbag/comfy chair/July Filer cult we kinda have set up here!! laughing.gif

Welcome to the group!!!
Seattle2Cebu
will you give details of the interview please after it happens? my fiance has her interview on march 03
Jeraly
Ok - I've prettied up the AOS spreadsheet - we just need to get some names in it now!! Woohoo!! biggrin.gif
KGSodie
I couldn't find a decent photo of the right shade of green, so I cheated and colorized a different colored bag. Since the chair is virtual, I didn't see any problems with this. I'm wondering, however, if this will cause any problems during the interview. Any helpful tips will be greatly appreciated!

Jeraly
Haha - what a great idea!! I wonder if I can apply a pattern filter or something to make it sparkle?!? Hmmm.... I might have to have a play later laughing.gif

Oh you *are* a troublemaker, aren't you? devil.gif
Jeraly
Ahh - thanks for reminding me!!
weedebz
i like the sparkly bean bag...mine seems so boring now!
Jeraly
Hehe - yeah well I had to spyware my puter right up to get it laughing.gif Am in process of removing said spyware now biggrin.gif

Of course I would like to edit it a bit but not sure of a programme that will edit animated gifs without losing the animation... anyone know of any?
KGSodie
I use paint shop pro for all of my graphics needs. Not positive if it supports animated gifs, but I'd be surprised if it didn't.
Jeraly
Hrmmm - is it freeware or only if you're naughty? whistling.gif Just wondering if there is something I can download smile.gif
KGSodie
I paid for my version....

You could check openoffice.org though, they might have something.

Jeraly
kewlies - will see what I can figure out smile.gif Sparkly avvie looks lame with stupid web advertisingy logo thing sad.gif
Jeraly
Grr - stupid arguments cray5ol.gif
Ahmed N Cheryl
WOW Jeraly I am jealous I want my chair and Ottaman to sparkle too tongue.gif I managed to change my avatar but I am not sure I can manage sparkle. no0pb.gif How's the vows coming?? Got any new versions to share? Take Care.

Cheryl
tucson_chick
finally managed to find a beanbag of my taste smile.gif
but it doesn't sparke. sad.gif

Jeraly
Aww - I love the new beanbags!!!! Cheryl - I love the fact you have an ottaman as well biggrin.gif Soo cool wink.gif

Blame the sparkles on KGSodie - he inspired me laughing.gif Am going to have to have a go at editing it soon though biggrin.gif

As for vows - no new versions yet - spent this weekend filling in packet 3 forms - joy(!) Part of me can't wait to get to the US and start on the AOS - all the forms and evidence will give me something to do while Jeremy is at work laughing.gif
weedebz
I can wait for AOS. I can't wait for everything to be over and to never have to deal with USCIS again.

As you have said Aly. I'm bad now, I'm gonna be a wreck come AOS if I even get that far, still got to get through a week today.
Jeraly
Oh dear... tbh I think with AOS I am going to be fine - it all seems pretty straightforward - lots of forms and evidence and things but at least we will be filling it out while not working laughing.gif I'm looking forward to getting a nice file to file all my visa stuff in so it is all nice and shiny biggrin.gif How sad am I?! I already have two display books - one for my visa stuff and one for my wedding stuff biggrin.gif
KGSodie
I think I agree with you, Jeraly. At least with AOS Natasha and I will be together, so how hard can it be? Of course, there will be the stress over getting the approval for permanent residency, but being together seems like half the battle is already won. Just my 2 coppers.
GeordieLover
I just am glad it's Peter's turn to do some of the paperwork now. I'm tired of it. Although, now that it's his turn, I feel like I'm not in control of it, and feel somewhat amiss. I feel like I may be nagging him about it...perhaps that makes me a control freak. Better check myself on that before he gets here.

I like Jeraly's sparkles too.....but that advert thingie does sort of distract one from it doesn't it? hm.
Jeraly
Yeah - going to try and gimp it tonight biggrin.gif Will see how I get on - it just makes it look tacky and yucky so I am going to have a play laughing.gif

As for AOS - I can't wait - I wasn't so incensed with the forms inpacket 3 - they kinda annoyed me - I just want to start a new process that I can take control of and just nag Jeremy over the things I need that I can't do laughing.gif

Jeraly
Haha! See?! We can keep up to date with our progress together *and* develop our knowledge of soft furnishings!! laughing.gif What more could you want?!

You have a very funky chair - I think this could really catch on wink.gif

*confession*

now we're all - y'know, old hands biggrin.gif -

does anyone else want to go into threads that total n00bs post in the first section and tell them all manner of rubbish with a straight face? y'know, the threads that ask about stuff you can find for yourself with two minutes' searching... I want to spin all manner of yarns and then watch the fallout laughing.gif

I think I might be just a tiny bit evil... devil.gif

Jeraly
Hahaha - yeah I feel pretty bad about it too whistling.gif

That one about what the difference is between service centres?! I just wanted to say "one of them processes petitions, the other one doesn't". But if they are with CSC I don't want to break their hearts!!! Am sure someone has already said it anyway - I am avoiding that post like the plague!! laughing.gif
Jeraly
I couldn't resist and what do I find?!!? ohmy.gif

QUOTE(StillThePrettiest @ Jan 30 2008, 09:18 PM) *
it's the subject of much study, and in fact there has been a call for papers on the issue

submissions so far have included speculation on whether it has to do with:

- whether there's an R in the month

- the phase of the moon / state of the tides / possibly both

- something about birds flying south for winter

- an 83 year old woman called Edna, who lives in Florida; if she wins at bingo there are approvals that day

- a magic dog (one of the more out-there theories)

- a 'lucky dip' type arrangement, where all the files are thrown into a central pool, and then USCIS employees use one of those crane things like you see at funfairs to grab one out

if you have any thoughts on the matter, the deadline for submissions is April 1 smile.gif

I like "what does touch mean?"

I always want to say "hon...if you need to ask, you should really have that talk your mom and dad have been putting off..." laughing.gif devil.gif

Jeraly
HAHAHAHAHA!!

Ok - this seems to be as good a place as any to share our change of plans!! We've decided that instead of having the Vegas wedding we are goign to go back to Sedona, AZ as it will feel more like an extension of our non-legal wedding - like we got married in Feb but signed the paperwork in August smile.gif

BUT!

Jeremy still really wants a Vegas trip at some point so we can all get together - it was originally for July-ers but I am sure we can extend the invitation to moxie as he is kind of an honorary July-er laughing.gif

We can plan the meet here biggrin.gif
English Muffin
Speaking of Vegas, Scott and I booked our trip yesterday. We're going to Vegas 24-29 February with the wedding on the 26th. Not decided which chapel we'll be using yet, I'll be doing that today. smile.gif

Gillian
Jeraly
Ooooh - we want pics as soon as you have them!! Well... I want pics anyway!! laughing.gif
L & P
Well Gillian, I was in Vegas over xmas, New Year and we will be getting married at the Little Chapel of the West. smile.gif Hopefully on 08.08.08

laurence rose.gif
Jeraly
Oooh - that's a nice date!! laughing.gif I'm hoping for either 11th August or 18th August for our legal wedding - both Mondays - seems to be a running theme!! Also 11th August will be exactly six months after our non-legal ceremony and the same day my cousin got married last year!!

Woot! That should move me up on the list...right? smile.gif

Dangit Aly, it's too bad Nadya isn't out here already. We'd have just talked you into coming up to Monterey (or us driving down to L.A.) so we could do the witness thing.

That's ok, we'll be content to see pics!

what are you gonna wear?????
i'm completly obsessed with
a) AOS
cool.gif packing (can't decide wheter to take my blue stapler with me or the red one)
c) what to wear for the civil ceremony. there is still the veil-idea in my head... but veil with jeans....
Jeraly
Hahah - oh I am so envious of you guys!! I can't wait to go through all that - although I am sure I will be tearing my hair out with AOS soon - Ooooh - Julez is going to have Griff with her soon biggrin.gif I will have to make her a certificate biggrin.gif

Moxie - if you fancied a trip down to Sedona in August... it is really beautiful - google Red Rock Crossing, AZ and you will see!! You could always come down the 101/1/5 then across to us on the 10 and we could road trip together biggrin.gif

Sedona's beautiful from what I hear. Lucky you! I'd love to go, but must decline. Saving money and vacation time for when my sweety arrives. Besides, I know I'd just get stuck driving while you two smooched in the back seat for hours on end... laughing.gif
Jeraly
Of course - that would be the only reason we invite you laughing.gif

As for vacation time - well - we are fully intending (if we can afford it!) to road trip up past Monterey on our way to Portland so we will pop in anyway wink.gif Gah - see how much I love you!? laughing.gif

does anybody have a ballpark figure how much a veil at davids bridal might cost?
i can't get the jeans-and-veil-idea out of my stupid little brain.

Oh Gillian - that is just genius!! Was it made for Vegas!? It is great!!!

Jeraly

Not doing the Vegas thing now but tongue.gif We'll all still have to meet there anyway in the summer sometime when we are all veterans wink.gif
weedebz

My dress fits me again now thanks to a really nice seamstress, can't lose or put on ANY weight now! Got it's chemical free cover to wrap it up in when I travel over then hang it up in once I get there.
