I don't know how you keep up with it!! I have always meant to ask how people surf VJ... I mean everyone must have a specific style right?

You absolutely have to hang out in the Canada Forum. It's a hoot. good.gif

(Sorry. Trying to catch up here. blush.gif )

For browsing, I am usually looking through the general k-1 forum first, then I flip to the july filers thread, then canada (tho they aren't very interesting, lol).

ohmy.gif

I have so much fun there! crying.gif

Lol, sorry!! I guess I get hung up on the whining about the US I can't take too much of it. I do like to go there for info though and everybody is very very nice (usually).

There's a really good speech given by Robin Williams in the movie "Good Wil Hunting" about the unique stuff that forms in a relationship. I'll summarize: "Sometimes my wife would fart in her sleep. Even woke the dog up once. Some people say these things are imperfections in a person, but I say they're the good stuff, the stuff only I know about."

I agree with this sentiment wholeheartedly, Jeraly!

Ok, I'll try:

"This visa process is taking far too long! The USCIS sucks the worst, followed by the NVC help line!"

Oh wait, you said wine.....

laughing.gif

Alex and I are maddeningly sickening with the cutesy stuff! Fortunately we usually manage to hide it from other people wink.gif

I haven't seen I Am Legend, but I hear it's mostly really good with a slightly disappointing ending.

Reading your signature....

I you sure you want to call the USCIS and have them correct the spelling? It'd probably be easier and faster to change your name to match their spelling.....
Jeraly
Hehe - I think that is it - in other relationships I always put my partner on a pedestal then was disappointed when they didn't meet my overly hgh expectations - now I accept Jeremy for who he is and understand that we both have our imperfections but as long as we love each other and are prepared to work through things together then that is what makes a relationship working fighting for smile.gif

LMAO@KGSodie laughing.gif

Oh - and can anyone figure out how to freeze panes in a spreadsheet?! You would think highlighting the cells then selecting "freeze pane" would work... but sadly no... tongue.gif

A little story for you all...

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a
well. The animal cried piteously for hours as
the farmer tried to figure out what to do.

Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the
well needed to be covered up anyway;

it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbors to come over and
help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began
to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the
donkey realized what was happening and cried
horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he
quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally
looked down the well. He was astonished at what
he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his
back, the donkey was doing something amazing.
He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel
dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it
off and take a step up.

Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey
stepped up over the edge of the well and
happily trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds
of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well
is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of
our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out
of the deepest wells just by not stopping,
never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

Free your heart from hatred - Forgive.

Free your mind from worries - Most never happen.

Live simply and appreciate what you have.

Give more.

Expect less

NOW ............

Enough of that crap . . The donkey later came back,

and bit the farmer who had tried to bury him.

The gash from the bite got infected and

the farmer eventually died in agony from septic shock.

MORAL FROM TODAY'S LESSON:

When you do something wrong, and try to cover
your a$$, it always comes back to bite you.

Jeraly
laughing.gif That's a great story wink.gif I am going to post it on facebook biggrin.gif

That was terrible - but I laughed anyway. tongue.gif

And here you go, Jeraly:

He can barely open his eyes! D'aw.

Okay, that seems a bit mean. Here's a slightly better webcam shot from the other day:

Let's hope he doesn't read this thread... whistling.gif

You guys are a hoot! Wine sounds great - I'm still at work but I can pretend.

My Phil is 18 years older than me.
Jeraly
Awww - he has a pic of a kittie on his wall!! biggrin.gif lemme see if I can dig out a decent piccie of Jeremy...

KGSodie
I was going to try and relate a story too, but all the ones I know start with "There was once a boy from Nantucket...."
Jeraly
LMAO - ignore the slightly bouffant hair... he hasn't got used to asking for a decent haircut yet!! laughing.gif I figure we'll cross that bridge when I move - that and his wardrobe whistling.gif
a-jeanne
Phil and I will have to get a webcam. This morning he sent me a picture of daffodils in bloom in the UK. Sounds like the weather has been warmer than usual there. We are still below zero here in the tundra (Wisconsin).
Jeraly
Oh and for those interested, Anewkindoffeelin just got approved from VSC - after 182... *checks* yeah 182 days smile.gif
Alex & Rachel
A decent photo? For shame! Only grainy webcam shots allowed here!

The bouffant hair is awesome good.gif

a-jeanne - welcome!

I guess I'll know what he'll be going through, then. I've already given up my beloved year-round shorts and have taken to wearing jeans. Sure, it's a bit nippy in Nebraska recently, but I always loved my shorts. And there have been anonymous threats made against the bulk of my wardrobe.....

Er, 'short trousers' perhaps for you folks....
Jeraly
Nah - shorts are fine laughing.gif I wish Jeremy *would* wear shorts sometimes - he'll wear trousers in the middle of a 100+ summer... I don't know how he does it...
Alex & Rachel
It's alright - we call them shorts, too!

Alex doesn't have the first clue how to dress, but that's okay. I'm more worried about the state of his room. He doesn't understand why books have to be straight and why it's a bad thing to let dust collect.

Bruce refuses to wear shorts, says he doesn't have the legs for them. It was about eleventy gazillion degrees here in August and he was mooching around in jeans. Go figure.

Yay! I love being predictable!! biggrin.gif
Alex & Rachel
Freaky! Man, someone once introduced me to my double online. He said, 'hey. I have a new best friend. You must look at this picture!' and I looked at it and said 'When were you stalking me?!' It was uncanny.

Perhaps I should dig up a better photo to compare?

Jeraly - oooooh you meanie, you know full well we're all going to be curious now!

Okay, leaving work now. I'll find one of Bruce's head shots that look like him. But if I post, we must never speak of this or I'm in for the high jump!
Jeraly
Haha I know!! I am working hard on it though so I am hoping to unveil the big surprise maybe... soon laughing.gif Hope it won't take me long or it might have to wait!!

So this thread is moving too danged fast for me to catch up with during my couple minutes of break, so howdy everyone and I hope you're all...hey, did someone say wine? And zomg cheese...
KGSodie
I sorta got in the habit of wearing shorts back in my bicycling days. When I was in Russia last year, in February, I wore shorts and T-shirts around the house and Natasha's mother kept taking my hand to be certain I wasn't cold. She found it unfathomable that I could be warm when dressed like that, in winter.
Jeraly
esp in Russia I can imagine!!

YAY!! Moxie's here!! I'm working on a surprise!! biggrin.gif *looks proud of herself*
Alex & Rachel
In Russia?! Yes, you were brave!

My brother, too, wears shorts all the time - or he did (it's not quite suitable attire now he's a doctor) and he was never cold. Brr! I'm always terribly cold. I'm glad to be moving to California - even England is too cold for me a lot of the time, and we have a very temperate climate.
a-jeanne
That bean bag does look like a fortune cookie...Now I'm hungry.

If England is too cold, you definately would not like Wisconsin. I am very worried about Phil living here - he doesn't really know how cold it is here. He will be a Philsicle.
KGSodie
Heya Mox. I'd like to just state, for the record, Senator, that Mox is Good People. We've chatted for a few hours privately and he's a genuinely Nice Guy. Welcome to the fray, Mox, even if only temporarily.
