I hope they understand that Encyclopedias (Britannica, Oxford, Wikipedia, or whatever) are all considered secondary sources for research.

What Wikipedia is great for though, is that a lot of the more scholarly articles have great references listed at the bottom of the page that can be used as primary sources. It's a nice shortcut when you've put that paper off until the night before it's due. I mean...so I'm told.
