The parents need to contact their congressman and senators. They can help find the petition.

petitioner is a US CITIZEN. what can you suggest for my friend as this case was an overdue application way back in 2006. thanks.

Did the parents called USCIS for updates since 2006? To find out if they submitted the proper forms and documents or if they need to submit more documents? How old is the daughter being petitioned? Is she married? It may take more time if the beneficiary is married and over 21.

I don't think the wait is at all unusual. My understanding it that it takes 5-6 years to sponsor a child who is over 21 - unmarried - as vsmtghdy mentioned, if they are married it is even longer.

Is the child over 21?

He should give USCIS a call, they will be best able to tell him what the current processing date is for his Daughter. Unfortunately that category takes a few years.

You can check out the current bulletin here: http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin...letin_3925.html

your friend would have to wait for several years more. they're still processing applications filed january 2003, you can check it out at this link: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/Processtim...eviceCenter=CSC
