For any one reading this.... If your Filipina is tiny, and moving to a cold part of the USA, have her stock up on jeans and other things that might be helpful before coming to the USA. We had to shop in the "Girls" department at JCPenny's and Kohl's today to find sweat pants and lounge pants for Ann to wear around the apartment. Yikes, a girls 14 fits her. Small in the USA does not equal Small Filipina.
Luckily we'd bought a couple more pairs of jeans before we left.

I've already mentioned this to wife. She's not tiny, but the asian body is proportioned differently so I suggested that she shoould get a few pairs of jeans and some slacks before we leave so that the pants fit better.

My wife brought ample clothes from the Philippines so we havent shopped for clothes yet since she got here. With Florida weather during the winter shes contented with sweatshirts and ordinary pants when it gets real cold. Somehow, she has high tolerance with the cold weather because even if its winter time she still wears shorts and sleeveless shirts around the house and when we go out.

I concur with you all. I have problems looking for clothes here as well. I even have problems shopping for scrub uniforms for work, since their XS is still big for me. XS-Petite Winter coats are still big and long for me. My shirts are size 10 1/2-12 in Girl's Department. I brought clothes from the Philippines but no winter clothes (sweaters and jackets)... It's too freezing cold for me here. And I'm a size 4 shoes in children's...
For all you ladies still in Pinas, if possible, buy your clothes there...

We've had trouble finding Jena clothing too. I ended up buying small size cudle duds brand long underwear but they're too big. They make XS in certain styles but we can't find any, even online. Personally I think its a myth that the make them in XS...LOL. Junior sizes fit her pretty well or the large girls sizes for most clothes. For sweat pants for around the house, the best deals we've found are boys large sizes, she really likes them and they're very cheap at Walmart.

hi there, you can tell your wife to go to Paseo center at paseo de roxas in makati, that building have restaurants above but on the ground floor, they a have a tiangge/bazaar like stalls that sells pea coats and some other stuff. Also tell her to watch out for the Karl Edwards bazaar, it is usually held at The Fort, there's an exhibitor there that sells winter coats all of them are really nice and they are all branded like Jones NY, London Fog etc. but they dont have down jackets. If you want something similar to a down jacket, then just tell her to go to Mall of Asia and get herself a NOrth Face or Columbian winter jacket

Careful with getting toiletries unless you plan on shipping them over. Airline regulations limit the size of liquids and gels to 3 oz. and they must be in a clear 1 qt. bag. I don't think you'll have any trouble finding what you need of these in the U.S. One trip into a Walgreen's and you'll be amazed at the variety available here.

There is Mango shop in Robinson malls... they have a wide variety of winter clothes there...
Once you are here in the states, there's a shop called DEB, they sell petite clothes,
or you can search for clothes in the teen's section... they fit just fine for us filipinas!

Marlene can't find shoes to fit here. Her shoe size is 4 1/2. She bought about 15 pairs of shoes on our last trip to visit her family. She also stocked up on jeans and shirts.

Went to one of the largest malls for the first time in Vegas yesterday, and it became obvious that the clothes won't fit without having them tailored. Even in the Philippines Jing had to have her pants taken up by a few inches !!

i went to the mall yesterday to find some clothes again and still no luck lol. they have to special order it and deliver it to my home coz they dont sell petite double zero pants. and gosh its so freakin expensive

$75 makes me even more frustrated but we have no choice coz thats the only brand that will have my size. should have gone to SM and shop while we were there last nov

I'm 4'11, and I'm Junior Size 8 or 10 lol! We're going snow skiing and finding ski clothes for me was the hardest part. My ski bib was bought at the kids section and my Columbia and North Face jackets are both XS. My propylene underwear is XS, got it from the military store huh!
Jeans I'm size O or 2 but the problem is the length I always have to do alot of alteration which is expensive. Also, my car seat is pushed forward to the max lol with a pillow to boot! How cool is that?
Yey, pinays!

I found a store that sells women's clothing especially for little Asians like us Pinays. It's name is Talbots (they're a little pricey) and CATO (way too cheap, even cheaper than clothes in the Philippines. I buy shoes at kids' section too... size 2 or 3. I'm not that petite

but I am considerably small for women's clothing here in US. I should have brought more pair of jeans with me when I came here because until now, I still haven't found the perfect jeans. I gotta wash and wear my 2 favorite blue jeans.

It is better to shop more clothes/shoes in the Philippines because most filipinas are really tiny..like me. I had to buy my running shoes at kids department because their ladies department dont have the smallest size that I want.

Well I don't mind with shoe size coz I'm a 9 haha "the big foot" and to think I'm only 5'2. Try the store ann Taylor/LOFT I met a filipina who work there and they have a bunch of petite sizes. Price wise? Nah a bit pricy for me though.

I guess I'm lucky coz I'm tall and I love the clothes in the US - size 2 or 4 fits me perfectly.

While here in PI, I have difficulty buying clothes especially at department stores (always too short for me) and shoes coz of my narrow feet.

When I went to the Philippines, I bought clothes for my mom, who is Filipina. She is a petite, and when I brought back size small clothes for her, nothing fit, they were too small. So, I will save them for my fiance when she is her.
