Has anyone recently paid the visa fee by card at the interview?
I didn't do it last time and I remember there was a problem with the card machine.
How did everyone pay? Do you think a cashier's check from my US bank would do?

I don't know if it was working or not on Tuesday because I didn't pay by card so I can't help you with that. But if you don't want to pay by card it's probably easiest to use cash - they accept US dollars or Sterling.

I seem to recall paying by cash last time. Maybe I'll do that.
How did you pay? Cash?

I paid by card without any problems back in October.

Nifty. Was it a proper credit card or a bank card? US bank or UK? I have a US bank card with a visa logo and wonder if that's going to be okay!
(You don't have to answer that if it's too nosy.)

Yes, I paid in Sterling and the exchange rate was £1 = $1.97.

I paid with a UK visa debit card. Wouldn't have thought you'd have any problems using a US equivalent.

When I had my interview on Firday 4th Jan, the card machine was not working. They said there was a problem across all embassies. So, they got me to fill out and sign a credit card form. My Card was billed on the Monday and my visa delivered on the wednesday.
Also, they only take Dollars. I had enough pounds in cash for the visa, but they could not accept it.
Ps., if you have time before your inteview, set up a Nationwide credit card as there is no fee charged for a foreign purchase i.e. the visa paid in Dollars. Other banks charge you 2.5% to exchange for you.

Really? This is the first time I've heard that in this forum. Maybe it was related to their system being down for credit cards? I only wonder because Gillian was able to pay in sterling on the 8th.

Yep, I definitely paid in sterling and there was a big sign on the window saying that they accept both currencies.
