We got an interview appointment today!!

The notice arrived in our mailbox today, Mar 27. It's dated March 24. The interview appointment is set for May 30. Other details are in our timeline below.

We're being processed through the San Francisco office. This is faster than we expected!

Bad news! Fingerprints were not good enough, need to re-do biometrics. I think I will stay away from the guy who took my fingerprints in Feb, he had to take them twice and did not stop taking about himself the entire time!

Hey hotairguy...just wanted to let you know I received my NOA1 yesterday for N-400. States 240 days. Weird considering we are both in Denver. Where do they pick these numbers from anyways....

Keep me informed if you receive your biometrics notice. I still haven't received one as yet and our service center number doesn't work on the USCIS site. Also without a service center number that works, I can't reach anyone through the 800 number.

Holy Shnikies!!! We just got our N-400 interview notice. We're in a true state of shock. My husband just had the biometrics done two weeks ago. His notice is to report on May 6 at 10:50 am. We cannot believe this.

We are both in the same boat.... still waiting for the Interview Letter to arrive....
Do you know how long we should wait until we could make the first call to ask for status update?

I'm going to wait a few weeks more, if I don't hear by then I will start calling. Don't want to sound too impatient, you know.

Well, I know we got it really quickly, but I can honestly say that it all depends on the District Office - our's is Jacksonville, which tends to be a small locale. Whereas, I can imagine that Chicago and Las Vegas are pretty busy with the amount of immigrants in those areas. Also, I don't feel too bad, because during the removal of conditions stage, we were part of the TSC Losers; where it took more than 10 months for processing of the I-751, and some other service centers received their cards in 2-4 months. I believe it all balances out in the end.

Second time lucky I hope, had my fingerprints retaken today, much easier and quicker than the first time, now the wait continues...

Here's my timeline so far:

Went to for fingerprint on march 5, i think it was on Tuesday.
Today got letter that my interview is june 6, 2008.
i am very happy at this point.
does any one know how i can get my oat the same day or if it is possible in dallas.
i can't await. i am so excited, i will be able to fill for my parents.

Hi Amaka, you are SO Fast at Dallas FP on March 5th and today you got IL already ... so from FP to IL is 7DAYS!!!

I hope so. My neighbor sent in their N-400 application last July and had just had their interview in March. Since I had to retake my fingerprints, I fear that I may have a long wait ahead of me. Anyway, I am still optimistic.

I've just found via another on-line link that someone else who had also filed with Detroit DO with the exact same FD, FP date as mine had received his IL on 4/10 and is scheduled to have his interview on 6/19!! I can't wait to see what my postman brings this week.

I called customer service today about my pending I-751. Got through to an IO and he told me my N-400 interview is scheduled for June 17!

I don't believe it until I get the letter. He gave me time and place too so I sure hope he was right.

I am absolutely sure that if the IO sayd that your interview date is on the way and moreover, the IO has SPECIFIED and TOLD you the date of your Interview, there is no way he/she was lying... it has been proven on some other applicants who also called and indeed the IO kept his/her promise. The Interview Letter arrives within couple days... enjoy the moment

Hello All,
I have been looking for other N400 applicants with a similar experience to try to gauge when we might expect our Oath Ceremony Date Notification.
My wife and I applied at the same time and were interviewed on the same day .

Interview March 27 , 2008 ( 880 Front Street)
Oath Date ( Letter ) ?????

I know its been only a month sice we passed our interview, and just wondering how long it might take to receive our Oath Notification Letter. We know other people in SD who have been given their Oath Dates on the same day as their interview. Anyone else interviewed in March 08 and still waiting ? It's been a long journey and we are so looking forward attending the ceremony together.

Hi RayG, Congrats for both you and your wife on passing the Interview !!!! That's the big hurdle you pass!! and now just waiting for your Oath...
Since your PD is last summer backlog 2007 I think you will get your Oath Letter QUICKLY. The USCIS will have up to 120 days (about 4months) after your Interview Date March 27th, 2008 to send you the letter. I havenot even gone to interview yet so I cannot give you my personal waiting time for oath since it hasnot happened yet to me. IMHO you probably might want to wait until July27 and if by that time you still don't get any you might want to schedule INFOPASS and see the Immigration Officer at your local San Diego District Office.
Let's wait for other applicants from San Diego DO who also have passed the Interviewed and received Oath Letter to gauge the timeline they have completed the waiting between ID (interview Date) and Oath Letter.

I'm in San Diego too. I haven't had my interview yet, so I can't answer your question. I was wondering if they ever gave you the option to skip the big ceremony and take the oath at the Chula Vista office instead? It's supposed to be possible to take the oath there just a week or two after the interview. They started doing that sometime last year. I will have my interview at 880 Front Street too and I will ask them about that option.

At our interviews we were not given any choice or indication that there might be an "expedited" oath date if taken at Chula Vista. We were told that we should wait for our letters and that the next ceremony scheduled was on the 22nd of this month ( April ). April 22nd came and went hence the concern that we had not yet received our letters. I wonder if I could just "walk in" to the Front Street office and enquire without the infopass? I tried the National call center which does not have our case number available ( it used to show it, but since our interview I cannot get online status anymore ). Will keep you posted, thanks for the good wishes !

I got the interview letter today!!

The interview date is for June 17. That makes it almost exactly 5 months from filing to interview. My I-751 is still pending. It will be interesting to see if we get a second letter requesting my husband to be there.

Hey Everyone! Well, my husband had his interview today and passed. Thank the Lord it is done. His interviewer wasn't very nice, wouldn't shake my husband's hand at the end:wow: ...but I'm not too worried about that. What matters is that he passed. He said the interviewer spoke so fast, didn't ask for any papers that we submitted, nothing. He was in and out within...6 minutes!!! He didn't ask to see me, just asked my husband if everything was ok with our marriage - it is. And then it was over. We just now have to wait for the oath letter, which we believe will be the 4th of July Celebration here in town.
