Hey Everyone! Well, my husband had his interview today and passed. Thank the Lord it is done. His interviewer wasn't very nice, wouldn't shake my husband's hand at the end:wow: ...but I'm not too worried about that. What matters is that he passed. He said the interviewer spoke so fast, didn't ask for any papers that we submitted, nothing. He was in and out within...6 minutes!!! ohmy.gif huh.gif ohmy.gif He didn't ask to see me, just asked my husband if everything was ok with our marriage - it is. And then it was over. We just now have to wait for the oath letter, which we believe will be the 4th of July Celebration here in town.

Good luck to everyone. good.gif

4th of July !!! GREAT!!
Congratulations, this time the message is for you wink.gif

Thanks for the well wishes y'all...we're just grateful it's almost over. wink.gif

1/05/08 - N-400 sent to NSC
1/10/08 - NSC cashes check
1/16/08 - Received NOA1 for N-400. Notice (NOA1) states we should expect to be notified within 450 days. Glad that fee increase gave us the results the USCIS promised!

5/8/08 - FINALLY received biometrics notice for 5/20/08. The USCIS website still does not acknowledge our service center number though and I cannot track any touches or updates. We have also found out that we cannot use the 800 number because it asks for our service center number and since it isn't registered, it hangs up on us.

I am happy for you at least you got the process going... it's strange IMHO that your FP is almost 4months after your PD. Other I see is really fast usually only 2-4 weeks ... o well it is USCIS... enjoy the moment

You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:

* Case Status Retrieval Failed
* This Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the National Customer Service Center.\

The receipt begins with WSC*00......., is the star part of it? Does anyone else have this issue?

Yes, the star is part of it. Sometimes though for whatever reason, it will not pull up a case. Crazy. wacko.gif

Hi jilanik,
Thank you for the correction above on your DO name. I don't get your PM btw.

Anyway, for those error message it is most likely a good thing. Most of the people who got error message in another forum (immigration portal) shares that the disappearance when pulling their application# on USCIS means their status is already being processed and moved to individual/ designated DO -- meaning waiting or putting in queue for Interview Date.
However, some oddballs such as myself, my case application # NEVER appear , not even once since day one, in USCIS website. The good thing is I received IL last month (for Interview Date at the end of next month). I think they just never put in my application # at all in the website.

So it should be a great sign for you smile.gif

Hi, I'm not a january filer, I filed in february but have been following this thread mostly because of jilanik, I'm also in Vegas so I figured when jilanik gets the interview letter it will be around a month for mine. It's weird that you can't get your case status in the site, for some time I couln't either, but about a week after I got the biometrics done I could check it. are you putting the whole thing in? WSC*00XXXXXXX including letters, stars and 0's?

That is correct. I couldn't check it from day one. I called up the 1-800 # and the CSR told me that it's probably a computer glitch as she could see my status. : (

Good luck to you. And if anyone else has any other ideas/suggestions, thank you in advance.

Update: Lucy passed her civics test this morning!

Nothing out of the ordinary to report. The examiner went over the N-400, asked the "have you ever...." questions, and asked ten civics questions from the standard list. She did ask all ten questions, instead of stopping at 6 or 7 like I've heard for others people. Lucy answered all ten questions correctly.

The whole process took about ten minutes.

One note: the San Francisco office (at 630 Sansome) doesn't allow any cell phones, cameras, or pocket knives inside the building, and there's no place to store them outside. I had to run back to the car. Fortunately, we had plenty of time. I don't know if all offices are similar, but I'd suggest leaving any such things at home or in the car.

Now it's just time to wait for the oath notice.

Congratulations Bertrand !!! That's a breeze for you ... hopefully you got your Oath Letter within days... I am just hoping Chicago DO moves fast... what concerns me is that some Chicago filers in this forum and also in the other forum such as: bolaian12, famy122, chicagonorth and shahhar5 said that they haven't received OL even though they have passed their Interviews a month ago (end April-early May).... yet other filers got it in 10-12 days such as roo724 and pal70.

Anyway enjoy your Moment my friend !!

5/20/08 - Biometrics completed at Denver. In and out in 15 minutes.
6/6/08 - Received interview letter today for Friday, July 11, 2008 @ 10:30am in Denver.

good for yoy. even with the problems with the biometrics you beat us. congrats.

Seems like we got stuck with the slowest office in the land. They were so fast with removal of conditions that I had high hopes for this step. Every morning I check out VJ and Immigrationportal hoping somebody got home late from work the night before and had some good news in the mail. So far, nada. Keep smilin'

Yeah I can't check online either. During the I-129F or AOS (I don't remember which) I was able to check online for awhile and then it quit giving updates. Just said "On such and such a date we sent, blah, blah, blah" It kept saying that for months after we were past that step. Maybe it still does. During removal of conditions phase it was always up to date. A Customer Service rep told me that they don't put the N-400s online, but some folks seem to be able to get info. Oh well. Try and keep sane.

Today I had my interview. It was a breeze really. My husband was with me because of the I-751 not being approved yet. We never got a letter that he had to be there, but we thought better safe than sorry. My husband was never called in, he was in the waiting area the whole time. The officer went through my A-file and asked if we were happily married. I said yes and I told him that my husband is right outside if you want to meet him, but he said that wasn't necessary. Then he continued to ask the have you ever-questions. I wrote one sentence, and then he asked me 10 questions from the list. He did ask all 10. He never asked to see any of the documents I brought. He congratulated me to passing the test and being recommended for approval. He said to wait outside a few minutes to get the result receipt. When I got it I asked how long before the oath and he said it will be in mid July, they do it once per month in San Diego.

Hang in there all of you who are waiting and good luck! kicking.gif

Thank you for your encouragement nscvet.... we are really trained to be the most patient creatures by dealing with USCIS-INS uncertainties for years... I guess it prove how determined we are loving this country. God Bless America.

GoodLuck to you too in waiting for your IL... I got carried away looking at your and other LA DO filers timeline (especially those who are still waiting for ILs even though the PD were in 2007) ... unsure.gif
