Hi everyone,
we've been stuck at the NVC for 36 days now. Initially things seemed really fast but have slowed down dramatically. The NOA 2 was approved June 6 and it reached the NVC on June 13. I've been following Jame's Shortcut and the extremely helpful step by step instructions by lotofpatientce. On the petitioner side things have been moving really fast, except I got issued an RFE on the AOS. The automated message reads:"There are documents missing on the AOS form and the NVC has mailed a checklist on July 8..". It hasn't arrived yet. On the beneficiary side, my wife e-mailed the DS-3032 and it took 17 days for an e-mail response. The automated message has not even mentioned anything about the beneficiary side of the process. We finally received the confirmation e-mail that the DS-3032 was accepted 2 days ago. The next step is the IV fee bill, but again there is no mention of issuance on the automated message. I visited the online site today to check if the IV fee bill was issued, and it just states "NOT PAID". I'm not sure if I should just go ahead and pay it or not. For the AOS fee it said "INVOICED" when I logged on to pay it. Any thoughts on this?????? I just want to get this over with. I was under the impression that the hard part was getting the NOA-1 and NOA-2 but it looks like this never ending bureaucracy extends everywhere. If anyone can help with my predicament, I would really appreciate it. Thanks and good luck to us all.

You cant pay the IV bill until it says invoiced. It wont let you. Please update your timeline. It is also helpful to people who want to help you if you post in your signature the steps you have taken.

Hi there everyone I had my interview last June 25 and consul required me to submit additional which I completed last July 8. The girl who accepted the additional doc said they will deliver the visa. I don't know when but I learned from the embassy's website that the visa processing is one week. So Hopefully I will get it soon and will fly to US by September.

To all of you January I-130 2008 filers goodluck and lets keep in touch...

I just came back from Kathmandu yesterday after spending 6 wonderful weeks with my husband. As happy as our reunion was, the day when I left was one of the most painful experiences of my life - I vowed to Govi that the next time I flew back to New York that he would be coming with me. Still no progress on our case but I hope for NOA2 soon, along with the rest of the VSC January filers.

Hi there welcome back and keep on praying soon it will come.... keep in touch!

hi marea! i thought maybe he'd recognize u at the embassy.. smile.gif anyway, last time i talked to my travel agent, northwest, china, and asiana had the lowest airfare. but between now and early september, it will be expensive since it's peak season. i booked our tickets late may as soon as we found out he was eligible for an interview. u should book ur ticket asap since it will be more expensive if u book it closer to ur travel date. plus, the fuel surcharge will for sure increase again.

Hi Cying my husband decided that we get the ticket by end of August or early September because the visa is not with me yet... So I don't think we could get a lower fare... I noticed you will be here by June 12 take care and have fun.. Keep in touch...

Thanks RickieAndEva. I finally figured out how to create a timeline, hehehe. Prior to the acceptance of the DS-3032 email, there was an NVC message stating it was missing, but no mention of it now. No mention of Invoice either though, therefore my question. When I went to the web site, I was able to click the IV Fee Bill check box at which point the pay the bill button went from shaded to available. I didn't click it, but I wonder if I can.....? Thanks again for any helpful suggestions.

Ok, a quick update. I received the IV Fee Bill in the mail today. I went back to the online site and it still said not paid under IV Fee bill. I clicked the box anyway and what do you know: it let me pay it. I probably could have done that without wasting 2 weeks. Hopefully the rest of this process will go by a little bit quicker.

I called the automated message service today and it stated: NVC has reviewed you packet of documents and found info missing. A checklist was mailed on July 24". At this point I was terribly frustrated thinking they still somehow lost more of the AOS packet I sent. So I called an operator in order to prepare for a second RFE and possible use the shortcut by Chris Parker. The operator said that they are sending me a checklist and a barcoded coversheet and a barcoded DS-230, but it has not been mailed yet?????????? I'm confused. I mailed the DS-230 packet 2 days ago and because of the weekend it's arriving to them today. On the phone she said they received the packet that I sent, but I can't see this happening since it was set to arrive at 3:00pm by USPS express mail today and it usually takes them 1 day to enter it into the system. USPS is not yet showing the packet as delivered on their site. So I'm guessing she was taking about the RFE packet I sent. ANyway, hopefully I'll know more in the next few days. Any of you guys have problems with this step of the process? Am I doing something wrong? Any suggestion is helpful.

Oh sorry to hear that but I got different path so can't help you on this looduck... I hope and pray it will fix soon...

I can't find much info about the Nairobi embassy... have any of you been dealing with them at all? (we had planned to go the K3 route, but when the I-130 got approved, it administratively closed our I-129F, so my husband will have to travel 20 hours to Nairobi, rather than a short walk to the Kigali embassy. Argh!)

Also, any guess on when they'll schedule his interview, assuming they see all that they need with the DS-230? He's scheduled to start school on September 2, and it's looking less and less likely that he'll be here. sigh.

I seriously wish I had found this site nine months ago. When we started the process, the government official that we contacted swore up and down that it would take 2 months, tops rofl.gif I'd say their estimate was a little off tongue.gif

You can find all of the info you need on the Nairobi embassy by clicking this link and selecting the country. http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/reciproc...ocity_3272.html. Good luck.

Does anyone know if Nairobi grants the visa then and there, or if my husband will have to wait a week or two?

Also, Nairobi is "appointment post". Does NVC set his interview date, or Nairobi? (I've heard horror stories about Nairobi losing applications for months at a time, and I miss my husband!)

Thanks smile.gif

hi there..

I posted months ago that me and my husband wanted to quit with this process and with the marriage.,
we slowed down a lil bit, lived by the day,
we stopped thinking and worrying about the USCIS stuffs ..
He visited me and my son here in the philippines for a couple of weeks around August., it was difficult for him to make that visit coz its the peak season of his business but we needed to see each other, rekindle the love, keep the flame burning... smile.gif make up for the months that we werent together...
then during his stay here, we got an email from CRIS that we got the approval. Aug. 21

it was a good gift for our 3rd year anniversary (aug. 25)..

Now, we're back on USCIS thingy, but this time, we learned to not really stress and worry about it....
one thing is for sure... we'll be together soooon smile.gif

I am so glad for all the january filers who are really doing perfectly great on their process..,
God bless ..

Hello Everyone,

Its been days since the last time i was here.

ME and my Husband are cancelling the petition. No approval yet anywayz,.

We've been to a Hell-of-a-ride relationship. its Been 3 years since we first talk. Been married for a 1 year and 2 months. And sadly, we came up to a decision of just getting a divorce. Its not working out anymore. Its been 6 months since the last time we saw each other for real. And we slowly felt that its seems like the relationship is all about "internet" and webcam and voice.

Both of us cant stand the separation. He cant come back here in the Philippines, coz he needs to think of his business, He cant afford to lose his business. And i respect him for that. He only had me for 3 years, but he has his business for more than 30 years...

I thank YOu very much for all the guides here. I enjoyed being in this forum!. it helped us alot and made it easier for us.

GOodluck to everyone and hoping for Fast approvals for the rest of you guys....

GOd Bless.

Jeramie

We know how you feel, everyone here can't stand the separation but we need to understand that this visa issue it will happen just once in a life time, then God willing we will spend the rest of our life with our loved ones.
try to keep your self busy, and please rethink your decision. we hope to hear from you again with good news smile.gif
good luck

Happy to hear that! I am glad things are working out. This is a very tough time for many of us, being separated and lonely. But it will worth the wait when we received the stamp in our passport!!!

On another note, our case was completed at NVC. Now I am waiting to go back to Malaysia for my medical check up and interview!

Yes, I second that!! I actually just checked in to this thread to see if there were any updates and I'm really glad to hear that you are back on track.

As we all know here, it is crazy hard to be married and away from your spouse for such extended periods of time. I cracked after a few months and quit my job to live with my hubby while we waited ... my heart goes out to all those separated for so ridiculously long.

Best of luck to you - the good news is that compared to USCIS, NVC is *speedy* now that all the payments can be done online. Onward!

Hi this is Jeramie.
the post written from september 2 is not true

We're not getting back together. The approval did happen. Got it August 21. but we are going thru with the divorce.

I am not sure why my soon-to-be exhusband would write a posting like that.

Good luck to all.

Hi Jeramie, sorry to hear that you are going with the divorce, maybe if both of you postpone that idea till you live together here in the USA, that way you will have a clear view, and you may change your mind.
