Happy belated Valentine's Day! I was in Italy with my husband and I just returned today to see that my check was cashed on 2/14. Based on others' responses, I hope to have received an NOA1 on Feb 11 or so. Haven't been home to check the mail yet.

Amazing to be so excited over the loss of $355!! Of course the back of the check, on the scan my bank sent, is unreadable, so I hope I have an actual NOA.

I'll read through the last weeks' posts; hopefully you are all having luck seeing your cases online...

By the way, I am still not sure if I am going K-3 or not - apparently I should decide this week! I'll update soon with the NOA1 date + whether I am switching to CR route or not ... What to do, what to do...

Lawrence, I see your cases were touched, what is touch mean? Online status change? Ours say "Case received and pending".
Do not know should send out I-129F or not.

How do I check my case online? everytime I go to the USCIS website and type in the case number from the NOA1 it's coming up as non existant ..... I've even signed up for an account .... there must be something I'm doing wrong

Congratulations on the NOA1's coming in ..... hopefully it won't be too long till NOA2 for us all ..... do we think under 6 months???? or less ??? looking at another forum for NOA1's to NOA2's it can be around the 6 month mark .... and I see that the one's coming out of Vermont on that forum are slower than California

HOnestly, i dont know what touch means, but, when i checked it online, the last update was Feb.20, i dont know know what theyre doing why they update our case. our service center is California...
ive seen lots of members that there case was being touched, but no other actions yet...

I think you'd be better off checking your bank account to see when they get the check.
You can't check status online without a number which will be on the back of the check or just wait for the notice to arrive.

No, I can't see mine either ...... I'm wishfully thinking, that they may be too busy adjudicating and approving to put us onto the system of course, that is totally wishful thinking.

However, I have been checking the timelines via the link at the top, and some Vermont people are getting their NOA2's in super quick time ..... I notice someone from Columbia got their's 20 odd days after NOA1 .... incredible (wish I was from Columbia now) ..... maybe the timelines for the actual service centres are changed by someone who has no idea as to what's going on .... and so just inputs any date they like the look of

i received NOA1 today, the date on the form is 20 february. i can see the status using the receipt number on the uscis web.

I am really worried - I sent my stuff in 1/15 and I'm the ONLY person on the list who hasn't had their check cleared or received an NOA ... What can I do? Anyone know about a phone number or something?

hi rajee , call the uscis # 1 800-375-5283. listen to the instructions then press the appropriate # on your phone.
you will be dialing 1...2...2...6...2...2...1 then you will be able to talk to a person, make sure to have all the information about you and your spouse ready.

I may be wrong I need to check. But you may also be the only one who sent 130 and 129 together. I wonder if this has something to do with it.

I also sent my I-130 and I-129F together and have already received my NOA1 for both forms. I think the problem is that Rajee sent his forms to the Chicago Lockbox rather than VSC. The Chicago Lockbox is only for STANDALONE I-130's. If you're sending the I-130 and I-129F together, I'm pretty certain they should be mailed directly to the appropriate service center. I suspect the Chicago Lockbox isn't sure what to do with Rajee's I-129F, and that's the reason for the delay.

Yeah, that makes sense. They may have set it aside or something.

I've called USCIS but they keep saying "give it more time and call us back in a couple days" ... This has been the response twice ... But they don't have any further answer because they don't see it in the system

I figured that if they didn't want my 129F there, they could've sent it back to me and entered the 130 ... I mean give me break ...

I sent both my I-129f and I-130 together to the chicago lockbox and bot both my NOA1's. It's a painful wait I hope CSC gets faster soon.

I just checked and my case # is in the system now!!! I think it has not been touched since it only shows that it was received on 2/8/08(notice date) - what would the message read if it were 'touched'?

What I am having a hard time understanding is how people have sent stuff to VSC and that has somehow worked smoothly for them when the instructions were to send I-130's to Chicago ... Which is what I did and got screwed over by ...

I'm thinking of sending them a certified mail letter tomorrow (suggested by someone on VJ) asking about my case tomorrow!

do you know when the chicago lockbox received your petition? if its more than 4 weekes now, they should explain to you what's going on when you call the 800 number..don't give up my friend, we all hope the best for you, and will keep you updated if there is anything to help you with your case.

Hello Zayd, thanks for the update... and congratz too with the NOA1.

Indeed, the said approvals from december filers are great... and hopefully, the filers from months before decmber will get their approvals too... theyve waited long enough.....

Still no NOA1!!!!!!!

We too are now on the system at Vermont ... dated 24th February like a lot of people .... gosh, they must have been working round the clock yesterday (Sunday) ..... makes me think of Santa's little Elves
NOA1 date showing as when it was received.

So, as there is wind of approvals from December filers .... do any of us have an incling as to when we'll get approval??

My instincts are telling me that we January filers may go through quickly ..... and won't be waiting a year to get on a plane

Brian&Mel .... do read the post about the lady who's in shock ..... I think it's on the CR1/IR1 forum .... she was waiting for her NOA1 and while wating, her approval notice just arrived in the post ..... that tells me you shouldn't worry .... if they've cashed your check, they've got your money ..... and more importantly, they've got your file ... something will be happening.
