At the bottom of your online case portfolio is says words similar to this, "you case may show an update, but it may not result in a different case status. This is likely due to standard USCIS INTERNAL processing.

At times, one can not go by the USCIS website. In May 2007, my husband had been approved (NOA2). To date, the USCIS still shows that the case is pending. On the other hand, the USCIS website had immediately updated information with regards to my hubby's EAD card.

I contacted a total of 4 politicians. This is because it had taken almost a year from the date that I filed to get an interview. K-3 petitions normally don't take as long as CR-1/IR-1's. If your case is within the estimated processing time, there is not much that you can do. Once the times lapses, then by all means involve your Congressman. Believe me, Congressman Isakson helped. Within a week of faxing a letter to his office, I had an interview. Suerte!

From the receipt to the approval of my petitions, I have only ever received one email from USCIS (not even an approval-email for them).

I have been thinking your question and I have to wonder if this is a tactic by USCIS to try to stop (or stall??) people who are outside of the processing time from phoning the customer service line to enquire about their petition(s).

After all, some people might be happy enough just knowing their petition was being "worked on" and would forego a call for the next week or so, to see if anything happens.

Another scenario, is that these emails could have been backed up in their system and could have been released later than they should have been. We know the email system is NOT working anywhere near as it should and, as I mentioned above, I have never received approval emails and I know others haven't either. I wonder if, at some point in the future, I might get a strange, out of place, approval from USCIS in my inbox.

I really feel sad that you're stuck where you are in the process, Gogo. I always hope when I see a post from you that you might have had a bit of good news. Both yourself and your spouse are still in my thoughts as I hope for approvals for you (and the others) that are still stuck in the same situation.

Susie,

Yep, it's getting closer to my interview now biggrin.gif I'm getting very nervous, even though it's still almost 3 weeks away. I just hope all goes well wacko.gif . I want to make my 20th February flight more than anything else right now and I keep thinking something has to go wrong at this point. Luckily Josh is there to keep reminding me not to be so negative, I need to steal some of his "live for today" attitude wink.gif
