For those of you who went through the London DCF or IR-1/CR-1 process, how was it when they reviewed your I-864 information? Did they go over with you there, and how closely did they scrutinize it?

The reason I ask is that I have a mix of transcripts and returns with attached W-2's - my dad lost his 2004 W-2 so I had to get a faxed transcript from the IRS; I have transcripts for 2004 and 2005 and a just-filed return and forms for 2006. So the information looks pretty eclectic! I'm worried that it will cause us problems; then again, I worry about just about everything lately...

When we did ours they could hardly have looked at it at all. They most certainly didn't take enough time to have given more than glance at the supporting documents, more like just check the figures provided on the form complied with the requirements.

At the very most they spent 5 minutes, if that, looking at all the paperwork we submitted on the day of the interview and never asked us any questions at all.

That's quite a relief. I remember it was like that with the I-134, but since the I-864 is a bit more in-depth I was getting worried.

It does seem at London most, not all obviously but the vast majority, come away saying what an anti climax the interview was and how straight forward it was. I think our experience is typical and from reports people have posted on here since we had ours it is still very much the same.

When I did mine, they just made sure they had each year. The guy was very nice he even sorted them all out for me in order, cos I had no clue at that time what they were

Ok, here;s what I have to submit with the I-864. Someone tell me if this is okay or if i need more!

ME (main sponsor):
Tax transcripts faxed freshly from the IRS for 2004, 2005.
Completed tax return with W-2 information (also faxed from IRS) for 2006.

-I was a student for most of these years and the year that I wasn't all of my income is foreign earned and doesn't count - i didn't make above the 125% at all.


DAD (joint sponsor)
-Freshly faxed transcript for tax year 2004 with plenty o' income.
-Complete tax returns for 2005 and 2006 with W-2's attached.


what else do i need? is this going to be enough? I also have my offer letter from my current job stating my salary (over the 125%), my payslips for the last six weeks (job held in US so income will continue) and my bank statement (only one because it's a new account). I don't have any of the above for Dad but if it will help, I can get it....

That looks fine to me, Gwen. They glanced at our I-864s, and just made sure we had the tax returns for 2006 attached for myself (main sponsor) and my mom (joint; she also had W2s attached, but I obviously had none to attach). My mom submitted an employer letter but I don't recall them looking too closely at it. My mom had attached it mostly because she had changed employers during 2006, and took a 50% pay cut to follow her dreams, so she felt she had to explain things.

We didn't submit any bank account details or payslips. Total time spent by CO looking at I-864s: 45 seconds!

I know you've heard it before, but relax! You have it all under control, and then some.

Looks like you're all set really. If it is possible though, I would feel better having a letter from the joint sponsor's employer especially as we're now into 2008 and you currently have nothing to prove that your dad's income situation has been the same for the past year. It's the current situation that is the most important.

That's fairly easy to get; I think I'll do it and have the extra piece of mind.
