We received our NOA2 approval on December 13, 2007. I received a letter from NVC stating the our petition has been forward to Lagos onn December 19, 2007. My question is how long will it take for the embassy to contact my fiance' about his packets 3 & 4. Also, can he take the approved I797 and letter from NVC to pickup those packets?

I would advise you to tell your fiance to go to the embassy and pick up the packets. He will need a copy of the NOA2 letter and the DHL tracking sheet showing that the embassy received the package from the NVC.

If he goes to pick them up, it will be much quicker. I've heard that if you wait for it to be sent, it can be more than a month and sometimes it never arrives in the mail.

Quenn Jenn is right you shouldn't wait for the packets 3 and 4 to be mailed there is no telling how long that could take. Your SO should take a copy of the NOA2 and a copy of the NVC letter of approval to the embassy and pick up his packets and he will get an interview date as well. Good Luck!

I received an email from the embassy today, stating the following:

The information regarding this petition has been uploaded to our system. At this time however, an interview date has yet to be scheduled. Once a date is scheduled, the information packets will be mailed to his Lagos address.
