Hello all,
Quick question. How long did it take for NVC to receive your petition (K-1)from the California Service Center? My petition was approved on Dec. 13th but I spoke with a rep. from NVC this evening and they said they don't have it and it could take up to 90 days before they receive it. I read somewhere that the CSC ships their petitions out when they have a bunch of them. Congrats to all at the VSC because according to their timelines, their petitions get in and out quite frequently.
Thanks

Bridget,
Last I knew, the CSC is still doing bulk shipments for these petitions. This means they wait for a crate to fill up, then ship the crate, instead of sending out daily or weekly shipments.
This has averaged 4-7 weeks as of late, but I'd suspect the "average" time is starting to shorten now, but I still wouldn't count on it being a speedy step of the process. As you can see in my timeline, it took a little while.
You can call the NVC to check on it, but I don't recommend doing so any more than once a week.
Hopefully it won't be long. Good luck!

I'm in the same boat you are. I was approved on the same day and when I called the NVC today(1/9/08) they said they still have not received my petition yet. They told me the same thing that it could take up to 90 days. Please dont take 90 days...... Good luck to all of us.

Hello,
I see we are in the same boat. I filed July 12,2007 and received NOA2 notice December 14, 2007. I recently found out our case was received by the NVC on January 4, 2008. I just read the guides for what will happen next so I have begun gathering information my husband will need to complete his paperwork/forms. I just realized the differences between K3 and IR1/CR1. I plan to attend the interview when it happens. God willing and spare our lives.
Hope all go well real soon.

Oh my gosh! I can't believe they bulk ship!!! That is ludicrous! Why aren't petitions processed in the order they were received and out the door in the order in which they were approved. Seems so un fair for that person whose waiting at the start of the crate fill up to get sent out with someone who just squeezed in 2 days after their approval. You'd think after doubling the app fee they can put some of that money to shipping weekly or something.
I know you all don't have real answers to my rant, but sometimes I sit and think about the inefficency at USCIS and my head goes stark raving mad!!

I talked to the NVC last night and they have now verified that they have received my petition, it was approved and assigned a case number. MNL-xxxxxxxxxx........ I'm glad that I'm one small step closer to seeing my sweetie again.
Good luck to all!
