Hi,

I was hoping someone could advise me on my situation.

Our I-129F petition was finally approved at the end of Dec after 185 days, and now I am beginning to prepare for interview. I have looked at the forms I am requried to fill out and have notice a number ask for details if I have ever been refused entry to the US and I have. In May 2006 (after 2 years of long distance) I had left my job and wanted to visit my then boyfriend for the summer. At the airport I told the whole truth, that I was hoping to stay for 3 months as the VWP allows, that I was between jobs and that I had no evidence of a flat or mortgage. I was sent through to a second stage and refused entry based on the fact I have no evidence I would leave. This despite having a return ticket, evidence of health insurance for my 3 months and my pleas.

Two months after this event I was granted a B-2 tourist visa as I had come back, had a great job and a flat. A year later after having survived what was a traumatic experience, and my boyfriend joining me in London, we got enaged.

Can anyone tell me if my refused entry will present problems at the interview? I have been completely honest thus far with immigration, and have no intention to do otherwise but I am worried.

Thanks for your advice.

It should not affect you at interview at all. If they ask about it, be honest. But since you didn't violate any laws, didn't overstay, or otherwise do anything wrong, you're fine. Breathe easy. smile.gif

Thanks you for your reassurance!!

No impact at all, denial of entry on a visitor's visa will have no impact.

THIS is a FAQ.
