I am asking this question for future referencing. My fiancee is still in Mexico and we are still awaiting the NOA2. However, I anticipate she will have her visa in hand sometime in the month of March.......I currently attend a university that will be offering a trip to Valencia, Spain for 1 month, the end of May to the end of June. I will receive 6 credits of upper level Spanish and will hopefully drastically improve my mediocre Spanish abilities. I know that the schooling will not be very time consuming and that my fiancee and I will be getting married (in Michigan) around that time, so I figure that we could rent a place for a month, and treat it is a honeymoon, if possible. What are the rules with traveling out of the U.S.A. within a month or two of receiving the K1 visa? Thank you in advance.
She absolutely can't leave the country before you're married, or you've wasted the K-1. (Well she could leave, but she couldn't come back.)
She can only leave the country after you're married if she has obtained advance parole. It is possible to obtain an emergency advance parole, but this is usually only granted for things like family emergencies. However she obtains it, she'll need to have advance parole to leave the country and be allowed back in again.

I don't believe you can leave the country once entered on a K1 as it is only valid for ONE entry.
Once married you need to apply for Adjustment of Status and all of the associated bits and bobs with that - which includes the AP which allows travel whilst awaiting the greencard.
She will be unable to leave the country without this authorisation - if she does she won't be able to come back and you'll be stuck having to wade through more paperwork, plus losing the money you shelled out to apply for AOS.
Edit: and mox beat me to it, but at least I know my advice was right now! *laughing*

FAQ: 6.7)...Can my spouse leave the United States, and then re-enter, before receiving the Green Card (conditional permanent residency)?

Wait until they issue Advance Parole or you can start the visa process all over again. You can apply for it at the same time when you file for the Work Permit.
Good luck and all the very best for the rest of your journey!!!!!

Good Answers. If this was Yahoo Answers I would be in a real dilemma on who to pick for best answer.

I'd choose the one with the shortest user name.

Well, from the time she gets the visa she has 6 months to enter the country...you COULD wait on the wedding until after your school trip. That would solve a lot of your problems
