ok I want one too!! :-) I think it shows they are working on it, so whether you get an RFE or not it means someone has it in there hands. Everytime someone goes through the paperwork they have to log it and that is where the "touch" comes from!!

We got our NOA1 on January 9th and received a touch on January 14th... I guess it's some person sticking our files in a box in the wayyyyyyyyyyy back....

Touches seem to be fairly common during the early part of the process. Not sure why, maybe they do it when they're moving the files from the mailroom to longer term storage, but that's only a guess. I got a touch about 2 weeks after my NOA1, and then nothing after that until I called.

Attorney just emailed me to say they received my NOA1. Yippeeee! I am having issues with the USCIS website to get the official notice date, but this makes me feel so much better to know at least we are a "number" in the system now.

i guess there are just 1 or 2 of us left for january filers that have not received NOA1, there is no sign also that they have cashed our cheque yet.

checking your signature timelines, it seems to me that CSC moves faster in cashing cheques than VSC and even faster in handing out NOA1s.

Oh, VSC cash our cheque now and send us our NOA1. I'm itching to create our account on uscis case status service online.

Give it at least a few weeks. You only submitted a few days ago, and they do tend to take a little time in getting them cashed. Then you can start to *really* wait.

And.... it's finally February! Which means we January filers are no longer the new kids on the block!!

Don't worry, I'm only guessing I had a touch on 1/30, although that might be the date on my NOA1 (since I haven't received my copy from the attorney yet). I am using the estimated date on the status page on USCIS website....which means there might be a little tweaking to my timeline when I get the notice in hand!

I have a problem with patience too....so this will surely be a grueling process for me!

Don't I know it...I keep checking my bank online to see if the check has been cashed (last count was 5 times today)...

You were only one day ahead of us in filing and we are also with the same service center: VSC! ... i guess you are already including us in your checking, i would assume, we wont get cashed unless they cashed in your check and we won't get NOA1 unless you have received your NOA1 also

Hope we do get that NOA1 soonest... and hope NOA2 won't be so far ahead also.

At least you'd be seeing your guy next month, with or without NOA1&2. Lucky you!.. Me, i won't be seeing my man till after my interview (he'll be coming here to pick us up--i refused to go to the US unless he comes here to get us) and i still don't know when that would be. I just miss him so bad! the shirt he left has lost his smell already. ... yes, im using the shirt he wore on our last day together as my pillow case so i could still smell him and pretend to be hugging him at night . (Don't ask how many months has passed without washing the shirt, it is still unwashed up to now )

Go to www.uscis.gov

At the bottom right corner of the page...there is a place that says "Check Case Status"

Put in EACXXXXXXXXXX ... and hit "Go"

But to check if you got "touched", you need to create an account and log in to the USCIS site.
https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/login.jsp

After you log in, your case portfolio will appear in a grey box. Your EAC number will be listed, along with a "last updated" date. If that date has changed since the last time you logged in, then you've been touched!

You can wait for the paper copy, or if you've been able to create an account on the USCIS website, then as soon as they'll send your NOA1, you can see it online.

OK January Filers - I'm excited by the relatively meaningless change in date on my estimated timeline. After flirting with August 5, 6. & 7, this morning I was happy to see that the estimated date has dropped to August 1. While I'm excited for any change in the right direction, I'm not sure exactly what this date signifies. Is it the date that I can expect the NOA2?, is it the date that the NVC releases to the embassy?, is it the date that the embassy interviews? " Adjudicated" can be interpreted by my simple mind in a number of different ways. Does anyone have the answer?

I think that's the time when USCIS will approve your I-129F petition (when you can expect the NOA2). But it would be better to have someone confirm this statement.

As far as I know, it's the estimated date derived from the averages of all the filers getting approved before us.. As people update their timelines daily, so does our estimated timelines change daily... So it is the estimated date you can expect to get your NOA2.. But it's just that, a estimate.. You could conceivable see your NOA2 sooner or later than the date your seeing "adjudicated as early as".

Yes, the case online status date is usually off by a few days. Your paper copy will have the correct received date.

Our check is not yet cashed ..... i hope its not because SO stapled it to a blank paper:(... he was so concern it might get lost so he stapled it and then put additional paper clip to really secure it:( it wont cause any problems if check have staple marks on it right?

Well, nothing yet... no NOA1, check not yet cashed, not even a sign of the return receipt from USPS... but im pretty sure we will have it in due time.

Btw, approvals for november filers are already rolling in.... lets pray that by the end of this month we would be seeing december filers get approved which means we are next in line

It took two weeks from sending my package to receipt of NOA1...hang in there!
