OMG... it's ONLY been 16 days since we mailed out petition. Seems like months already!

But in that short time, the London consulate time has risen from 53 days to 84 days. wacko.gif <--me after reading that

Annoying, but it doesn't really matter what their wait is until we get our NOA2.
Let's just hope London has got their act back together before then!
kommie
Hi all,

We also mailed out our K1 petition this January. So good luck to everyone!!!
Alex & Rachel
Welcome! Good luck to all! biggrin.gif

Susie, SMASHROX - so sorry to hear your cheques have not been cashed yet. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

That's crazy how much the London consulate times have risen blink.gif

Hi, Martin Luther King day.
Cheers, and don't worry all, the NOA1 from VSC seems to get mailed a day or two after receipt at the VSC.

Oh ok. I didn't know there was Martin Luther King holiday. That's one of the many things we will learn when we eventually live in the States.

Hello Everyone ... January filer here! :-)

I have a question... I got my NOA1 last week and logged into the USCIS website. I signed up for the e-mail updates... Do they e-mail you when they touch it or do you just have to check the "last updated" date on the web? I got my NOA1 in the mail on Thursday but the "last updated" date is Friday but I didnt get an e-mail. Have I been touched? (that sounds so funny!) :-)

Thanks for the help!

Cat - It sounds like what you have described might be, in fact, a "touch". i don't think you get an email for "touches". Hopefully some of the more experienced VJers out there can confirm. I am glad to see it took you nearly 13 days to receive NOA1. I am still patiently waiting for mine (10 days and counting....) and my money order still has not been cashed. I was starting to wonder if something got lost. I guess I will save the panicking if I don't receive it this week.

Who else out there is still waiting on NOA1?

I was getting anxious about the NOA1 ... and it took a while for my check to go through as my account is at a little credit union in Maine and it takes forever for checks to get cashed, got the NOA1 in the mail the day after check showed cleared in my account.. Also I think MLK Day slowed things for a minute too! I am sure you will get yours anyday!! :-) VT is supposed to be good!

Thanks!!!

Please count us in for January filers. There is just one tiny bitsy thing needed and our I-129F application is good to go later today. smile.gif

Once this month is up I'll draw up a list of us all so we can all keep an eye on touches and approvals!

My estimated approval date is now Alex's birthday...it'd be a good present but I'm still hoping that we may be finished before then.

As you probably already know, this is just a standard estimate based on other VJ members' timelines. Most of the time people are approved sooner than this projected date. But sometimes a few go beyong this date. There are petitioners from June and July still waiting. But not many. Good luck to you on a speedy approval! good.gif

OK at least have confirmation from our attorney that the package was received at VSC on 1/24, so at least I know it got there. Now it is just a matter of ensuring it doesn't get lost in the flurry of activity at the service center. I have a sneaking suspicion it likely did not go out on 1/18 like they originally told me....6 days to get from FL to VT? I can get letters to Ireland in that time.

Anyways, for various personal reasons I did hire an attorney to fill out the paperwork. We wanted to get things filed immediately and I did not have time to read through the guides here, since I have been bogged down with my job working crazy hours (as a tax accountant). If anything, at least I had piece of mind getting another set of eyes to look at my paperwork. Going forward I am confident I will have the time and the knowledge to do the AOS paperwork on my own.

Finally confirmed... We're on board! My honey fixed the little glitch and sent the application yes.gif

You are not alone innocent.gif .. been checking and rechecking usps.com for any update on our shipment. Who wouldn't be OC, our future happiness is contained on those papers: the I-129F file, NOA1, NOA2,etc.

good luck to us... God be with us all.

i just got the NOA1 I believe and it says recieved date 23 and notice date the 24th so even thoguh my check was cashed on the 29th my real date is the 24th right? i think im asking a stupid question but I wanna make sure tongue.gif

Susie - I think the date on the notice is what you use (at least that is what I would use). Now for good news...I called the 1800 to check the status of my money order this morning...

"Money order Rxxxxx was presented for payment on January 30, 2008." YAY! Come on NOA1...get here already!

Good luck to all! My SO and I are not extremely optimistic about getting our NOA2 quickly. We realized we made a mistake on the application and left some areas blank where they should have been "none". If we get an RFE, we'll update. What kind of evidence did you guys include?

We had passport stamps, itinerary for both of us. An I-94 card for him (he was here while we filed the app), some boarding passes (but those don't show the year, although the dates coincide with the passport stamps, and 4 or 5 photos...

These things are so nerve-wracking! Good luck!
SMASHROX
I took a quick tally of our thread and it looks like there are about 20 of us January filers. Good luck again!
dbears
I guess we're the last one to jump in for January... there's not even update on usps online tracking so, I would assume our application has not reach VSC yet:(... but I'm letting God take full control of everything.

As for evidence... ours was a bit overkill whistling.gif : passport stamps, boarding passes, airline tickets, hotel receipts, 30+ photos, couple of emails, chat logs, pages of our wedding website, pages of our photosharing site, receipt, delivery notification and photo of our personalized guest signature platter, my authenticated birth certificate, birth certificate of my kids, certificate of no marriage from our national statistics office, his divorce decrees, his birth certificate, and truck loads of prayers.

Some of it are not really required but we just put it in.
Alex & Rachel
Welcome!

We included:

- Stamps in passports
- Plane tickets and train tickets from 1 1/2 of the 3 trips (I hadn't kept anything from the first trip, and we completed the package while I was in the US and didn't have return tickets)
- 5-6 photos of us together
- Mobile phone bills (3 of them, to show a cross-section)
- About 6 e-mails (again, a cross-section)
- 4 letters

Fortunately I managed to get Alex to write 'none' in blank spaces on the forms before he sent it out, although I'm still terrified of getting a RFE for whatever reason!
IrieCat
Hi!

I had:

passport stamps
Plane ticket receipt
pictures of us in St Lucia, including my daughter and SO
Receipt from apartment
Receipt from daughter's school
HUGE phone bills
Phone card receipts
Oh and a copy of my St Lucia driver's license

I have a positive outlook on this but also am thinking I will get an RFE for something. I cut off International calling from my phone (bill was out of control!) so for future proof I have set him up with an e-mail account and we have written each other a few letters. I only use a calling card now so it is hard to say who I am calling only that I am using the card. We wrote each other letters 2 weeks ago and neither have received.. St Lucian mail is iffy! :-)

I guess if I dont have enough proof of relationship both my mom, aunt and his mother and friends will write affidavits. It will just set us back a week or so. In the long run the week or too will be nothing.

Good luck and speedy NOA2s to all!!

:-)

Have you tried using Skype? They kept the history of calls and SMS. Or have you tried using Gmail talk? Like Skype, they also archieved all the conversations.

By the way, just thought of sharing this with January filers!!!

As of January 4, 2008, USCIS had completed initial data entry and issued receipt notices for applications and petitions except for I-130s (Petition for Alien Relative) which are being receipted at the Chicago Lockbox facility, as noted below:

Chicago Lockbox (as of 1/30/08)
Form Number Date Received

I-130 12/18/2007

It's getting closer!!!

Sorry guys.. sometimes my obsession gets the best of me.. forgive me, I'm an engineer so I had to crunch some numbers..

Mind you this, this data is ONLY from visajourney database.....and ONLY for Vermont Service Center

On VJ, 70 applicants have applied for K1, of those 70, 25 have reported receiving their NOA2. The last shown date was someone who filed 10/23/07..

With this in mind, there were 38 November filers, 38 December filers, and 46 January filers...

Hopefully logic will hold and there were less applications in November and December and we can move on rather quickly!

I have Skype and use it daily for work etc... I telework. However. the only place Louis can use e-mail is at work. His home doesn't even have running water and electricity isn't reliable. :-) He wouldn't be able to use all the "extras" at work. I am lucky if I get a couple e-mails a week from him. We talk on the phone about 3 times a day though - I just need the "paper" for proof. I am sure it will all be fine though.

Oh and trying to teach him how to use e-mail over the phone - hahaha! That was funny! Poor guy! He can't wait to get here and take some computer classes - he knows you have to have that skill here in the US.

I had to laugh at this. Teaching Aidan how to do emails and instant messenger was funny. He never had a computer before he met me so that was a necessity after I moved back to the states. And trying to troubleshoot his internet connection can be maddening at times!

As far as evidence goes, we sent in A LOT, but I wasn't sure how much was enough, you know? We sent in:

Full copies of all passport pages
15 or so photos
Phone records from the date we met through December
2 Letters from my co-workers when I worked in Ireland
Copy of the engagement ring receipt and confirmation letter from reception venue
Copies of tickets for most trips back and forth
Receipts for cruise we took in December
Copies of cards sent to each other
Copies of engagement cards

I think there was probably some other stuff we added that I'm not thinking of....
SusieLuvsPaul
I didn't put in emails and stuff from skype should I have or just instead wait till interview? and when you print out the skype calls you just go into the history and take a screen shot or something? I put everything elkse like hotels when we were in uk together and boarding passes and pics just wondering about skype, and how many emails do you use?

I feel like a underachiever...

Tickets for him to Orlando
Passports stamps for those trips
5 pictures of us on the trips (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, my parents' house, at the airport)
admission tickets to attractions with his name and mine
2 cell phone bills (I am obsessive when it comes to bills...him not so much; when they're paid, they're gone...)
Skype transcripts

I hope it will be enough!!!

Don't forget Us!

I sent off the application on a friday to the CSC - which scared me since they seem to be so slow about everything. But they cashed the check right away and I was able to get my case number and set up on the USCIS website on the 30th. Amazing. Congrats to everyone on making it through the nerve wracking process of putting together such an important and life altering document - only to let it go into the hands of Uncle Sam.
