We're still waitng (and waiting and waiting and waiting) for our NOA2 but we're looking at the future and I was wondering..

for those of you planning your move, and those of you who have moved..

What'd you do with all your stuff?

sell it on ebay? ship it? give it away? All of the above?

Just wondering if anybody had any tips.

All of the above, really. We shipped a lot of it as excess baggage with Virgin Atlantic (cheaper than shipping companies but not good for anything that's particularly bulky), sold anything electronic either to eBay or to the local junk shop, stored a bunch of things at his mum's until we could get back with more suitcases, and gave the rest away.

I've heard good reviews about a company called "Excess Baggage" and intend to investigate more fully when I am due to move!

I'm going to have a car boot sale with things I don't need, I am going to box everything else up and have it shipped. Cram as much into two suitcases as I can as well as my OH's suitcases because we'll be flying back together smile.gif I've also gradually been sending things back with him when he's come over smile.gif

Shipped the stuff I couldn't part with via excessbaggage, gave away the rest to friends.

Cash convertors for electrics, charity shop for the old clothes, bin for the general rubbish that accumulates in life, an Excess Baggage for things that I really want. And some stuff gets left in the flat

Most of my big items have been already claimed by friends smile.gif My friends niece is buying a home later in the year and as most of what I have is 2 years old and under I think she will grab whats left, shes already wanting to come and have a look.
All my books, cd's, ornaments, ect will be coming with me, oh and the dog too tongue.gif
Anything else thats left will be going to charity shops or in the bin.
All I have to work out now is what I need immediately (things to put in my cases to bring with me) when I move there, as shipping can take a couple of months.
