I wanted to undergo vaccinations. Consulate website (New Delhi) links the vaccination requirements to the stage.gov URL
(http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1331.html) where the following list is given

-- mumps
-- measles
-- rubella
-- polio
-- tetanus and diphtheria toxoids
-- pertussis
-- influenzae type b (Hib)
-- hepatitis B
-- varicella
-- pneumococcal and
-- influenza.

I have the following questions on this:
1) Some of them have already been done when I was a kid, but I don't have any medical records. What to do now?
2) For the rest, should I get vaccinations only from the approved panel listed in the website or can be done through any local facility?
3) I stay at Hyderabad/Andhra Pradesh. Please let me know the list of the hospitals/facility through which I can get the above vaccinations done!
Thanks
Dunhill

While you are doing the medical examinations, they will determine the vacinnes required by you and will administer the same for a fee, nothing to worry if you do not have the records.

Hope it helps!

Thanks Dunhill for the response. So this means that the only route for me is to go to the approved Panel Physician and get the check done. But I read from the forums that vaccinations is not a must for K1 and the chances are that the Doctor may skip it altogether since it is not mandatory. But I want to go ahead and do it since they will be required for later AOS etc. That's where I am stuck. I am planning to get the vaccinations done at Hyderabad but don't know which hospitals/facilities are ok to get it done at so that it is also recognized by the approved Panel physician.

Better to talk to a panel physician first!

Yes. you would need the medical report indicating you have taken those vaccines for AOS.
You can goto any reputable doctor/clinic and get all the shots and then get a letter from them stating when and the dosage you got...

Hope this helps.

My husband was in Hyderabad too. The panal physician said that no vaccinations were required for K1 visa so he would not give them. mad.gif But we wanted them done in India because they are much less expensive.

You can get the shots from any doctor who will provide the proof - usually there is a sticker on the meds and they stick it on the bill or on a statement saying what shots you had. Usually you only require 3 vaccinations: MMR (Mumps, Measles, Rubella given in one single shot), Tetanus and Varicella. A second dose of MMR and Varicella is required, several weeks after the first dose.

About having some of them done as a kid, I'm not sure what to advise. I know my husband was not sure which ones he had, so he just got the required ones. Maybe if you are certain and have a statement from your parents, the doc will mark the vaccination as complete.
