Hello guys and girls, I found this site some time ago but never had time to search or post any thing. Finally I read some of the stuff last night and site seems very help full.
Currently I am in the dilema of AP for K1 visa. I've heard different things from differnt people as far as the feed back and time line goes for AP. I am sure many of you already have experience with this. What I need to know is how long it will take until my AP is completed and who handles it? Does it go F.B.I or home land security? I am a little confused, AP is basically for security clearnence right?
I had my k1 visa interview on the 9th, october of 2007 in Islamabad embassy and it went very well. At the end of the interview the embassy officer handed me a blue sheet that mentioned that your case has been temporarily refused for further administrative processing. It also says they can not give me a definite date when the processing will be completed but the minimum time is approximately six weeks and no maximum time limit. What I would like to know is what is the average time for this AP. Does that happen to every body who is from Pakistan specially with my name (Mohammad)
Does any body here experienced this situation. If you have any information regarding this or any tips towards the right direction will be highly obliged.
Kind regards,
Mohammad

Hey there Mohammad,
Sorry to hear about your situation, but yeah, it's typical. As of late (within the last 12months from what I've noticed) virtually EVERYONE is on AP now. Also from what I've noticed, it's taking about 6 months. You may shift through postings and notice the time line on people's signatures...that's what I've done. It's been mentioned that it does not happen through the embassy, but I haven't found out where yet. Again, most of the information is based on what I've read through the feeds.
All I can recommend is emailing them to inquire. You must remember your name and d.o.b. as well as the petitioner and the the case number.
Hope that helps.
All the best

Hey Wendeth,
Thanks for the quick response. I am already falling in love with this forum

So basically no body knows where does AP takes place. That is weird! but as far as the time frame for AP rolls, it sounds like approximately 6 months from your response.
Ok so I am not the only one with AP, I don't know if I should be fortunate or unfortunate because more people in queue the longer it will take. My fiance in the U.S mailed some letters to the senators yesterday, hopefully that will help out the case?
Btw I like your screen name (Gori) thats awesome

Well lets keep each other updated.

I've been through the same thing except that I went to Abu Dhabi. This monday it will be 8 weeks and still nothing! I haven't heard 6 months what I've heard for cases referred to Abu Dhabi it's usually 2 months and in weird cases 3!
Hope we all get outta this confusing mess soon!

So what your saying is, Abu Dhabi is quicker. Man I should've went Abu Dhabi instead of Islamabad. I don't even know if that is possible but thats another story. I wish and hope that we all get our AP resolved soon.

I don't think it matters which embassy you go to, it wouldn't make the process any faster (the AP that is) since I'm pretty sure the AP is all processed in Washington.

Hello Mohammad,
As Wendeth said it is taking a minimum in most cases for males of 6 months. I have been on this forum over two years and my husband went thru Islamabad. AP is security checks and it is done at the local level and in Washington DC as well. Do not be surprised if you have a field investigator checking out your story, your background, and family. They can/will come to your home, your neighbors, your job, your school, etc to verify all information. All you can do is wait out the processing and try and take your journey one day at a time. Stay positive and hopefully your AP will be finalized soon.
I filed CR-1 with my husband and his AP was a little over 5 months and he had a field investigation as well.

Wow they have field investigators and what do they ask for when they visit the places that you've just mentioned? Would they ask for info regarding my fiance or to verify if I live, work etc at all these places. Does the investigator go to both of our locations or only the beneficiaries places?
And thanks for the motivation

Field investigations are to verify your travels within our outside of Pakistan, to verify thru neighbors if your beloved has come to your country and do they know about them, if your family knows of the relationship and approves? If you are married and hiding this from the USC to verify that you are eligible to marry the USC. Lots of things are and can be checked out since I have been on these forums I know of more than one Pakistani male that was already married to Pakistani and married or engaged/married to USC at the same time and the visa was denied for fraud. If they find oiut this in Pakistan they will contact the USC in the states and inform them as well. The USC does not have field investiagions. Also, a new check called Material Support has to be ruled out that the family is not giving funds to a terrorist front. Hope this answers your question.

The waiting time for AP is different for everybody and depends on how common your name is. The visa officer told me that I was being put on AP because my name was very common. My AP was cleared within a month but sometimes it can take shorter or longer, there is no way to predict. It also depends on the embassy on how efficient they are in sending the case to washington and how fast they contact you after you are cleared. Islamabad embassy seems to be a little slow compared to other embassies. Just pray to Allah and hope u recieve your visa soon!! Insha Allah!

Come on man, Pakistan is a beautiful country with great people my friend. I love this country and I am very proud to be a Paki. I think you might be living in some screwd northern area of Pakistan where some terrorists have shifted from different countries. I admit things in those places have been going through some unrest but inshallah every thing will be fine, all we can do is pray and hope for a better tommorrow for Pak and the entire world.
No offense pal, but you do have a very negative views about Pakistan. Remember don't follow too much media, it plays with your head dude. My fiance lived here for more than a year and she loved Pakistan. We went to many places, parties etc and every body loved her. My entire family knows about her and she has met them as well and they love her. I have freinds from a lot of different countries in Islo town and every body loves it out here. Remember you are the face of Pakistan so always have positive things to say about your country. Peace bro

Hey MM
The place where I live, neighbors barely know each other, lol. My family is totally fine with whom ever I get married to so I am good. Obviously my parents will give me money once I go to the U.S but not for terrorist activities, lol

So basically all the fraudelnt guys get the fist which is excellent. Doesn't seem like very transparent procedure for unfradulent lovers but what ever they make the rules and we have to follow them. I have been waiting for a long time and really hope that me and my lovey will get together soon. Every day becomes harder and harder but we are hanging in there and God is testing our patience which we won't fail.
Btw this forum! I am aaaa lovin it

gives me more hope by the day

The only reason the british flag is there is because my case went through here. That doesn't say anything about my patriotism and if I wasn't patriotic I wouldn't have commented on your words. The security checks are not only for Pakistanis its for a lot of other nationalities as well. If you see the the Philipino or Russian forums you will see plenty of people on AP there.
