helpsmilie.gif The good news is we recieved our letter from the NVC with our case number on the 26th of Dec. and the package is on it's way to Ankara. The bad news is our lawyer is not returning our calls quick enough and his office made a few mistakes on our final forms and Semih corrected them for the 4th time and they are still not fixed. Then when he complained about the services this is the response we recieved.... "If you feel unhappy with the services let us know at this point we cannot refund any of your monies because all the forms were prepared and sent to you. All our work was completed.
Let us know- we would need to remove ourselves from the case and contact the Embassy"

Imagine that????? WTF! we are so mad b/c it feels like they are bailing out on us. We don't know how to finish this process on our own. Please help we are almost at the end and need to know what to do from here. wacko.gif

1st question... my cosponsor doesnt have her W-2's but has her copies of her taxes is the W-2's necessary?
2nd question...Is there a way to track when Ankara recieves the paperwork? helpsmilie.gif

Thanks!

From reading about this process, we decided to "DIY" we have not used a lawyer since the begining, K-1 approved, visa issued, green-card issued.

Lawyers are useful for complex cases which require waivers ect.. But from what I read often on VJ and other immigrations boards, for the most part they tend to just interfere with the process in simple cases, they cannot speed it up.

If at this point you feel you have been "fixing" all the mistakes, that shows that you have a grasp on the paperwork. Fire them and do it yourself. Cut your losses now that you owe nothing. You are already giving yourself a headache and you have a laywer. Are they not supposed to make this easier?? wacko.gif Just my opinion. blush.gif

Sorry to hear about the lawyer bailing on you. Since it seems like you have been doing your fair share of legwork you can definitely do the rest yourself good.gif Just read the guides and ask questions. We are here to help smile.gif

Tax Info: I think it is either the tax transcript or tax return and W2 which is needed. You can get free copies of tax transcripts from the IRS fairly quickly (I got mine in 10 days or so).

Good luck!!
