it was actually easier for me to lose weight after getting pregnant. even more so after the second. not sure why. i think the mental part of it was after the second i knew i wasnt going to have anymore so there isnt that thing in my head saying "its ok if you arent at your goal weight because you are only going to gain with pregnancy anyway". i really kicked it in after my son who is now one and worked out and tried to eat healthy. my biggest vices are wine, margaritas, and then bad food choices after those. otherwise i pretty much eat 99% healthy.
Thanks! I know my biggest problem is laziness and bad food choices. i know I can overeat on healthy things and be fine-- lettuce doesn't add much to your caloric intake

I could lose so easily before I got pregnant. It was after pregnancy that I couldn't lose anymore. i can overeat on anything that doesn't run away from me. the only thing is that chips and cake are wayyyyyyy more fun to overeat on that lettuce. . . . . .

I'm so prouda us gals!
I was surfing around youtube the other night and came accross a womana who was my age, 5'3", and 300lbs. She had the gastric bypass surgery done and lost over 100lbs in 6 months. I have considered doing this but as of right now this diet is working well, i'm not starving, and my body is tightening up as I lose. If I end up falling completely off and not able to get completely back on the bandwagon, I'll talk to the doc about GBP

I would have said the same thing a few months ago! Anything is possible! *cue Flashdance music again*
One thing I've noticed is that I've pretty much stopped paying attention to my diet, just eating when I'm hungry and still having sweets etc. when I feel like it. And I'm continuing to lose weight. I'm thinking that eventually I'll just reach a stable weight as my body gets used to the exercise? Otherwise I'm not quite sure what to do once I reach my goal (not far now!

If you continued to lose beyond your goal (or I should say beyond what is healthy as I am not sure how thin your goal is on you) then you just have to up your caloric intake is all. You'll be like all pie all the time! lol! Ammar is having to do that. The cake is for him-- he just has to not only eat regularly but just plain get extra calories because he is losing too much. Of course cake, etc shouldn't ever replace good food

But you'll no longer have to be concerned about cheese or anything.
I just got done. i decided to go on to week 2 of couch to 5k.
I hope you saved some before pics so you cna look at them next to your after pics!

Well at my goal weight, I'll be a size 8, so nothing overly skinny, for sure, but perfect for my height and body type IMO.
Yes, I guess I'd rather up the calories than decrease the exercise. So pies, here I come!

Yeah, IMO it may be better to continue the good exercise than not.. and then jsut descrease calories if you decrease exercise. That just because, though, it's harder for me to get into an exercise routine than to cut back eating.

You shouldn't give it up altogether, Jackie. No reason you can't just work towards a brisk 5k walk. Alternate slow and fast walking instead of walking and running. In fact, I've read that if you're not jogging at a 10'-mile pace or faster, then you might as well be walking anyway.

i was always wondering-- aren't you doing this on your lunch break at your work? I may be remembering totally wrong. i was just curious as to if they have full-facilities-- as it would seem kinda yuck to go back to work all sweaty lol. Otherwise I figured you were going to another gym on break.
What is everyone eating at this point? I know some were going more vegetarian, some were cutting portions, etc.
I am so close to being able to get some really good harvest out of my garden-- once that starts, I plan on more or less munching out of there. Right nwo i'm still doing my normal veggie eating, although on some things that he insists I eat with him (like cake) I am trying to just eat a small piece and really cut back on helpings of other things.

How far are you from being the way you want to look when you go to israel? Nothing like a trip or possibility of meeting relatives that makes you want to lose weight. Honestly? I know that I am fine right now. Not to be conceited but I am not overweight at all and pretty toned. So I dont want to go overboard. I just have these really VAIN things I want before I go. I want the shoulder muscle to be capped, I want the lines down my stomach on each side, I want a very defined six pack and I want my butt a little bit perkier. I guess I should lay off the cheeses and I need to do more cardio. I want to increase my endurance so I can do alot of running in the negev heat in august lol.
I will say I am off meat until I go. I dont crave it. The cheese would be good to lay off of too but honestly I only eat really high quality cheeses once or twice a week and milk in my cappucinos and that is it dairy wise. Otherwise I eat lots of protein, soy, veggies, fruits and occasionally the only other thing I splurge in is frozen yogurt. Also maybe once or twice a week and not when I eat the cheese. I do love a good steak but I dont crave it now and I am not going to have it until I am in israel.
I dont knwo what to say about siblings - are you happy or dreading? Israel doesnt have any restrictions for tourist visas so I have had tons of siblings over throughout the years and its tough. But its the women in his family (who dont really come here except MIL) that do all of the talking about fatter/thinner like we have discussed before... See thats why I want all of the things I mentioned above before I go, for once I just feel like being in your face like SEE nothing to criticize so STEP OFF! I know it all sounds so superficial and horrible~!

Oh yeah! that all sounds like awesome goals. I actualyl have little mini-body goals like that.. and often outfit-related goals. I have also come to terms with certain things-- like no matter how much i wish i had a flatter behind, I will always have a J-Lo bootie.
I am happy for his siblings if they get to come and supr-happy for Ammar.. i just don't want there to be anything to bring back as far as the fatter/thinner front. hope that makes sense. i know they will talk

And LOl about "step off"! I totally get it!
