Hi guys! I am relatively new to VJ, I have been reading posts for a while but I just started posting myself tonight. I have a question regarding how to get police records, if your fiance was not legal in the country they have lived since age 16. Has anybody else had to request records and how would I do that without jeopardizing being sent home before his interview date? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated, I am stressing big time wacko.gif ! THanks and nice to meet you all!

Yeah I had no problems at all. I got police certificates from Greece and Italy where my finance had resided without residence documents in both countries. The certificate seems pretty routine they just print a sheet that says if that person's name came up in the registry of criminal offenses. You can think of it as going to the court records office and not the immigration patrol's office. They don't care they just give you the info on if that person has a record or not. It doesn't even have to be the person named to go to the office to get it.
