Hey VJ!!

I hope all is well for you all, and that the Holidays have been joyful and relaxing for you all....

I just wanted to inform my friends that I contacted my State Congressman and his office got back to me via telephone to see what I needed from them regarding the immigration process....

I told them that at the time they called me, I had just been approved for the k1 visa!!! which is great, but I then asked if they could do something to (1) ask the US EMBASSY IN GHANA WHEN MY FIANCE'S INTERVIEW DATE IS; AND (2) TRY TO ASK THEM TO MAKE IT EARLY AS POSSIBLE!!

So the office of my Congressman for the State of Massachusetts (Congressman Tierney) emailed the US Consolute in Accra, Ghana, and asked them simply to inform them of my fiance's interview date.

I will keep you all posted as to the results (if Any) of my Congressman assisting me in this process!!!

I am hoping for the best!!!!!

Great! I had the same response from my senator when I was having difficulty with the Ghana embassy.

I probably won't be going back to Africa again before Lucky arrives here in the States.... simply because I dont think I could get that much time off my job. I just got a job!!! Yay!! I start Monday, 1/7!!!! But since I am new, I don't think they'll give me 2 wks vacation... not sure .... just glad I should be seeing my boo here in the States in a few short months!! yay!!

Just wanted to let you all know, I called my Congressman's assistant today to check if ghana has returned her email yet... she had sent them an email dec.20th asking for them to kindly give her Lucky's interview date....
They told her they received his file electronically dec.17 and once they receive the hard copy, they will contact Lucky asking him to come to the embassy to pick up the packet "in a few weeks"....

My congressman's office said she will give ghana 30 days to act and if Lucky has not heard from them by 1/28, she will take further action on my behalf!! Yay!!!

I hope you all can contact your local congressman's office as well. They can really benefit you and serve as a mediator between us embassy in the foreign country and you!!!
