To answer what the B-1/B2 is .. it is the business tourist visa. Jan works doing export of textiles.. sells saris and other materials. He is setting up a store with his big client in Canada... whoo hoo.. nice.. so getting him here even this close is fantastic.. we can meet in Canada and get married.. and he can spend his time here in USA visiting me.. and family.

It is too complicated a situation to explain here.. but.. we have been going tru alot of family and cultural trials and tribulations... all worth the wait.. especially when you know what you have is real...

it have been 3 years 312 days 20 hours.. since I said YES.... .. Have you watched Deevdas.? Remember the line?
Jigi
hi,

Ohh yea... i remember Devdas....... how can I .. i didnt watch the mvoie because SRK dies in the end.... i just am tired of living alone .... God Please help me.... i am lonely....cant even cry...

My standby: Alu Gobi, Dal and rice - takes some cutting but can be made ahead of time and heated up last minute. Not Indian but I promised my guy the first meal I would make for him when he gets here would be my spinach lasagna with white sauce. Vegi chili and cornbread is nice this time of year and might be a good introduction to 'real American' food but spicy enough for someone who likes Indian food.

Now I'm hungry - time for lunch! laughing.gif

Indian guys get the greatest joy and contentment from plain ole rice, roti, daal and sambar. yes.gif The veggies are mostly simple with few spices and they are easy, though different in different areas. If ever we don't have veggies or sambar, my South Indian guy is happy having just rice, pickles and buttermilk/yogurt. good.gif

Find out what spices are used in the area your guy comes from, and practice a few easy combinations. Ready-made powders sold at any Indian stores are heavily used by us (sambar, rasam, masala, pulao/biryani, tamarind rice, etc.) Ask him what his favorite meals are. (Things like pulao and yellow rice are easy and often favorites.) Hopefully he will know a bit of cooking so he can teach you! heart.gif

North and South preparations have distinctive differences, the spices my hubby likes best are coriander powder, cumin, turmeric and tamarind. Plus fry in a little oil a few mustard seeds, curry leaf and urad daal and add it to the mix - poof! South Indian veggie curry ready! laughing.gif

Here's a quick mixture of spices for Gujarati food - Cumin powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, and a pinch of Asafoetida. Fry anything with oil and mustard seeds. Works with almost any basic gujarati vegetable dish :-)
