It seems that, finally, NSC is getting its act together and is processing I-751 again.
Info added for mew5280(CAPG), they got approved verbally at their interview, and for firebrand whose wife got approved - congratulations to both! lizmissy also added, she got approved, but her daughter not yet - Good Luck!

For March 15, 2008 processing dates, Nebraska remains at that infamous July 05, 2006 I-751 date, where California jumped to September 17, 2007! Was told by Senator Feingold's office that all I-751's were shipped to California, but case status still says our application is in Nebraska. I called my senator's office yesterday, and nobody was home.
My daughter's Venezuelan passport is expired with threats to take away my wife's passport, we tried to renew our daughter's passport last year, what for, she isn't living in Venezuela, how do you answer that? Course, things can be done in Venezuela by depositing large sums of cash in a Miami bank account, they love US dollars. I did read about that I-551 stamp have to bring in a current valid foreign passport, isn't that asking a bit too much from people that have already lived here legally for four years now?
We did talk to an army recruiter, daughter can get instant USA citizen by joining plus all those college benefits and she won't be sent to Iraq, so he says, but two of her tiny little girlfriend joined last summer with the same promise and are going to Iraq. With the new increase in violence, 4,000 of our troops have been killed and 30,000 wounded, love that wounded when a troop comes back with arms, legs, or half their heads blown off. An in-law, another tiny little girl was in Colorado for flight training in the ANG, pulled out, sent to Texas for six weeks of MP training, and off to Iraq, she can't even open a jar of pickles and going to lug an M-16 around?
As a regular in the armed services, we never had much respect for the weekend warriors, they never had the extensive training we had, most were family men trying to make a couple of extra bucks, and okay for helping flood victims, call them cheap labor if you want, but sending these guys to a foreign war? Was unheard of back then, and now, little girls?
My wife and daughter feel like refugees without a country, I talked to Congressman Obey, yesterday, he has been around for awhile and he promised to see what he can do. I am getting a bit upset.

First off, I did Recruiting and Retention Command support for a few years. You would be bonkers to trust a recruiter, let alone trust one with your kids life. Also, I was one of those "weekend warriors" for 14 years and served in Iraq. I held my own and them some while assigned to the 1st Infantry Division. My battle wounds are no less then yours...if you have them.
The day you sign on the dotted line, you have effectively written a blank check to the U.S. Gov't that has a price up to and including your life. The kid that had his foot crushed in basic training is every bit the honored veteran as the grizzled 20-year-letter guy with multiple combat tours.
Anyhow, if "all Nebraska I-751's were shipped to California" what was the effective date? My wife and I have passed our 12 month mark already (March 3rd, 2007), so does that mean OUR file is now in California? And how the hell can we tell? My wifes letter of extension expires this coming May, and if we don't have a 10-year green card by then, I will appeal to my senator.
My heart goes out to you on the passport issue. Thats an angle I had never considered. Both my wife and I updated our passports soon after arriving in America, so we are set for the moment. I cant imagine what it would be like having a dependent (victim?) to have to take into account.
Finally, lets all give the 35 odd million illegal Mexicans a hearty THANKS for jumping the fence, clogging the USCIS in their bit for "amnesty", and shoving aside us law abiding citizens/taxpayers. Don't ever change, guys!

First, Venezuelans living abroad need the passport for travelling, e.g. to Europe - you already knew that I assume and so does the Venezuelan consulate, but they still want to be paid like their brethren in the consulate of Iran and other "liberated" nations. The memo attached to this thread (and to the fixed thread on top of the thread list) mentions a second possibility, to get the I-551 on a I-94 form, with you supplying the passport photos (two photos?). I got such a form when I got first approved for my conditional Green Card, because my passport wasn't valid much longer anymore. I used it for employment in the US and for travel to Canada.

I checked again my on daughter's passport, unfortunately she is also a victim of the I-751, it actually isn't expired, and does have a USA visa in it that is good until October 27, 2013 so perhaps that is good enough for the USCIS. The reason why it is expired, after they got here, Chavez changed the passbook cover obsoleting all previous passports, so her passport will not be good for travel. She doesn't have any plans for traveling anyway in the immediate future, and hopefully by that time, her N-400 application will be approved and she can get a USA passport.
I assume that I-94 form is at the USCIS field office and didn't know about bringing two passport photos with us, thanks for that tip, would hate to make another 400 mile one day trip.
Am accused of taking things too literally at times, I mean if you are driving and see a sign that says, stop, you stop, right? That doesn't mean to slow down to a roll, it means stop. Like the I-751, takes 90 days to process, did take that literally as well, know a lot more about the USCIS today than I did over a year ago. And don't particularly like what I am learning.

My husband and I went to the Denver field office this morning for the InfoPass appointment. The people there were polite but offered no helpful information. The officer simply pulled my case file from the computer, told me the same crap that they received "6 million, ah, no, 3 million, applications" after the fees jump last year. Therefore, I should just go home and wait patiently there. He gave me an stamp for a 12 month extension. My senator's office hasn't gotten back to me yet. I don't know what else I can do at this point. Congrats to all the lucky ones who got their cases approval!
I have updated my information in the table below.

Yes ,I checked the USCIS website also and I could not believe it ...still the same date July 5,2006. This is just plain ridiculous but let me say this ...these processing dates are not accurate at all .

Well I don't think that senators will do anything neither, according to these threads 2 senators said NSC don't process I-751 anyomre and they were all shipped to CALIFORNIA service center, but when you check online it is still NSC , I don't beleive that something is wrong if they did send them to CAL we should receive an email about it right??

I filed around Jan 10th '07 (not exactly sure when I sent it in), received on Jan 25th and biometrics on the 23rd of Feb. She took my information again and said she was pushing through a "non delivery of green card" as that was the only option available on her screen. She gave me a confirmation number and a date of April 27th. If I don't hear anything (presumably by mail) by that date then I can call again. My extension runs out on April 23rd and I have an Infopass set for April 2nd to get a stamp on my passport as I have to travel soon.

Well the thing is I am going to Texas for 4 months, and what worries me is that if I do a request or ask my attorney to do a request for me , they will make me have an interview , I don't have a problem with , Buti am going to be on JOb training in TX for 4 mts and I just don't want to tell my job like in the middle of it that I have to go back to Missouri , so that is why I am in between , what do you think is the best think , I applied in 06/12/07 received NOA 06/22/07 and Biometrics on 07/12/07 , MY 1 year extention expire on 08/25 /08

Hi,
I got my I-551 stamp in my passport today, it's good for another year. They did take my green card though but I was happy about that as the idiots got my DOB wrong when they issued it in the first place. It's a nightmare travelling when your passport doesn't agree with your card but I wasn't going to pay those guys $70 dollars to correct their mistake and wait another year for a replacement. The guys in Seattle have no idea whether my case is going to be transferred, lost, or is sitting on some shelf gathering dust in the Nebraska office. The guy did advise me not to apply for citizenship yet as they are so backed up. I don't know if I want to pay nearly $700 dollars anyway to the USCIS to jump through more hoops and get more peeved and just wait on my green card to turn up.

I called my senators office again today, after a two week-two day waiting period, was informed that our I-751 package was sent from Nebraska to California and received there as of March 14, 2008, and they haven't had time to look at it. Was told to check back in another two weeks, so I marked my calendar.
I received no notification from the USCIS that our package was transferred and our case status still shows we are in Nebraska. It just sounds like our package sat in Nebraska for a year and gathered some dust. But they did open it and cashed the check.

You see that is the problem, When Texas center send their files to Vermont, all vermont people applications received an emial about it,
and now they are saying they send ours to California but we did not received anything about it, I don't think it is true, I think they are just blaffing us USCIS and senators also

I did contact my attorney, he said he can't do anything but suggested I contacted my senator, that I did and the above is the response I have received. Now have to wait another two weeks.

My congressman sent me this reply today from his contact at NSC. It confirms the transfer to CSC:
"There is a process in place where the I-751's are being sent to CSC. It appears from service records that the A file is already at the CSC office (He refers to my case and the reason my A-file is already at CSC is probably because I filed the N400 there in January). I will inquiry with one of the adjudicators that still works a few I-751's and see if it can be sent soon. I'm sure NSC is doing everything they can to get these I-751's out to CSC."
I called USCIS but they couldn't tell me anything new. The guy didn't know anything about the transfer, I never got to talk to an IO. He did file a new service request, my second for this case. He wrote down in the request that my congressman is involved. Hopefully that can put some pressure on it.

Tom was off today so I had him call and he spoke to two different people. Neither was very helpful and refused to give him a service request (they were friendly though). They said he has to make an infopass appointment first. They did not mention his app. being sent to California, so I don't think it has. I know they did look into their computer (I think) since they asked Tom for a lot of info and he was on hold for awhile.
He made an inforpass appointment for the second week of April. We will see then.

Yep,I do agree 100% .Why bother paying another $700 ,filling N-400 when they can't deliver the service that you paid for already ????
THIS IS NOT THE FIX FOR I-751

Ha, that's not what Emilio said, processing N-400's faster than they are coming in the door. Just a problem the way our system has become, elect a new president and about 10,000 buddies that helped him get there are given key agency jobs. Have to deal with the guy they put in in charge of the FAA electronics that doesn't know the difference between a light bulb and a resistor. EPA can't even write their own certification tests, have to rely on 3rd parties, and if you want to pass, you don't put in the correct answer, but the answer they want. FCC broke a long standing regulation where foreign corporations can own our communications industry, are we being brainwashed? Bankruptcy laws do not apply to the IRS, the list goes on and on, so why should the USCIS be any different?
One thing they all have in common, is that they can shut you down, so you have to be nice and work with them to survive. Since my wife is from Venezuela, read some about the history of that country, was actually a very nice place to live before Chavez took over, claims to be helping the poor, but stealing from those that have worked hard to get where they are. Also took over all the private communications and utility companies and put his own buddies in charge that also don't know what they are doing causing additional hardships for his people.
I have no choice but to proceed with the N-400 and if you don't get in line will never have hope that your turn will eventually come.
I can't believe they made you surrender your green card, even expired, the USCIS states that is your only proof of being a permanent resident, even though you cannot travel or get employment with it. What's going on here now with the illegals, and they can be stopped by the cops with a failed parking lamp, no drivers license, go to jail where the USCIS is contacted. They are stripped of everything they own except for the shirt on their backs and transferred just as far as the US-Mexican border and dropped off without a cent in their pockets. They have even done this to the breadwinner of the family, not deporting his kids as they were born here and considered as US citizens and leaving his wife alone to care for them with no means of support. This is a reality we all should be aware of.

Yesterday, completed the N-400 application for my wife, as they first thing they wanted was illegal to make copies of her green card, I also with further thought send copies of her I-797C one year extension and biometrics.
I mean the N-400 states to show proof of legal permanent residence and it is their way of showing legal permanent residence with all these extra pieces of paper and not my way of doing things, I have shown this proof. In the next 86 or so days, depending upon what they do, will either send a copy of her I-551 stamp or hopefully an updated green card.
Now I am using the term green card as listed on the N-400 form, even though that card ain't green.
Quite a stack of papers, again, I used 24# paper to prevent bleed through and printed on both sides to reduce the height of the stack from over an inch to a bit over a half an inch, not only her proof, but mine as well that I am a US citizen, then all that proof that we are living together. I thought I already have done this for the I-130's, I-485's, G-325A's and the I-864's and again for the I-751, but no, I must have been dreaming.
We made an appointment at the Venezuelan Consulate and are forced by the USCIS to get valid foreign passports, we still own property in Venezuela, and hey, Chavez is a great guy so have to wear a dual face. But hey, again, I don't make the rules, just have to abide by them. On one hand the USCIS expects an immigrant to show allegiance to this country, on the other, force you to show allegiance to the old country one came from, wonder if they ever even considered what they are doing?
Both my wife and daughter want to become US citizens and could be now if it wasn't for these extensive USCIS delays. As I mentioned, my daughter even considered joining the NG, but is afraid to death of being sent to Iraq, instant US citizenship by joining. She is deathly afraid of guns, as an ex-military and a WI resident, seem to have a couple. I took them both out to a firing range, wife let off a couple of rounds and got a black and blue shoulder, daughter wouldn't even go near one.
Now I am snowed about my daughter's N-400, she was part of the I-751, did turn 18 since then, I didn't marry her and see no provisions for children in the N-400, so does she follow the five year rule? I looked all over the net and couldn't find anything addressing this circumstance. Anyone have a similar experience?

Ha, now we have two things to wait for, still have to figure out what to do with my daughter's N-400 application. Always problems. The video card on my slightly over one year old computer blew yesterday, good thing I have more than one computer with backups, not easy to copy files if you can't see what you are doing.
Do you have any idea if the USCIS is going to use the new civil test or the old one? I still enjoy reading about the purity of the formation of this country, but listening to the news spoils all those thoughts. But the seven articles of the constitution with the 27 amendments seem simple when you have to read hundreds of thousands of pages with the 1,525 agencies we now have. Don't feel anyone could pass that test.

I'm not sure of the date that they are changing the test, October of this year rings a bell? You can pick to do the old test (the current one) when you have your interview though, based on when you applied. My husband will pick the old/current test when he goes (if the new test is offered at that time), since that is what he is studying for.
NickD
Mar 31 2008, 08:29 AM
Tammi, is this the test your husband is studying?
"1. What are the colors of our flag?
Red, White, and Blue.
2. How many stars are there in our flag?
50
3. What color are the stars on our flag?
White.
4. What do the stars on the flag mean?
One for each state in the Union.
5. How many stripes are there in the flag?
13
6. What color are the stripes?
Red and White.
7. What do the stripes on the flag mean?
They represent the original 13 states.
8. How many states are there in the Union?
50
9. What is the 4th of July?
Independence Day.
10. What is the date of Independence Day?
July 4th"
Ha, wonder how many USA citizens could pass this test? Understand out of the 100 total questions, the interviewer may only ask about ten, which ten? LOL.
Ha, I love this question...24. What are the three branches of our government? Legislative, Executive, and Judiciary
Legislative goes along with anything the Executive branch says while the Executive branch selects the supreme court justices, so in reality, how many branches do we really have in our government? Better answer three if you want to pass the test.

Yes, this is the test. You have to get 6 out of 10 correct. I took the test myself and got a 90%, and my brother and sister-in-law took it and got about 85% each. I always grew up learning that there are three branches of government.
Ps. My husband made flashcards to study the 96 questions (they dropped 4 of them).

Our governors office called today and left a message on the machine. The message said to call back that they have all our answers. Ha, I bet it's just the same old.

Almost the same here. My senator's office emailed me saying they sent a inquiry to NSC. I haven't heard back yet. I am gonna wait one more week and then contact them again. Now I am addicted to checking the online case status.

Yay, congrats to Sandeep, you are finally done with NSC! Here is the response NSC sent to my senator's office. It confirms the transfer to CSC. The person with my senator's office said he will send an inquiry to CSC, too. Now let's just hope CSC is better.

I thought I had my info on there. If someone wants to add me to the list here is my info.
Sent: 01/13/2007
NOA: 01/27/2007
Biometrics: 03/14/2007
Service Request, congressman, N-400, I-551 stamp for 12 months
I also decided to take a new approach. I sent more information to add to my file today with a letter reminding them that I have not had my case looked at since 3/31/2007. I sent my 2007 tax returns and our new home loan which we got after I had sent the original application. Just trying to stir the pot. Ill let you know if anything happens here.
Here is an update. My case now states this information. I do not know if it was since I sent an update to my file and a request for it to be transferred to the CSC if possible.... or if its just my turn for something to happen. My case also shows updated 4/1/2008.
Application Type: CRI89, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED
Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.

Hi!
I JUST got an email from CRIS with the EXACT same information! For the first time since 3/9/2007 my case was updated today. Now - "transferred" - but where? California? They're still keeping that a secret I guess.
I'm just glad my file did not deteriorate and someone was able to pick it up to do
something with it. Whatever that may be
@sandeep: CONGRATS on the approval. Somebody
is still working those 751s in Nebraska then..!
