hey there!

i'm an October filer, and unfortunately more than a little obssessed with checking processing times.

anyhow, i've just seen that the previous filing dates (april 2007 or thereabouts) has now been changed to 6 months.

what i want to know is, if that's a good thing?

deep down i'm hoping it is.

also, how annoying is the fact that everytime you check your timeline, it goes up a day.......grrr mad.gif

anyway. best wishes to all you guys for the New Year and may all our wishes come true.

Their target date is 6 months. If they are at or BELOW (and they have been averaging below target) then they just put "6 months" instead of an actual date.

um.............just a note...........their website reporting is less than accurate, it's much better to watch the timeline dates on VJ than to depend on the agency that is processing the petitions.

I agree with D&N. Ever since I started using Immi timeline stats. I can what trends are going on with the processing. The processing is closer to 4-5 months, but thats my 2 cents because there are always outliers on the board.

To answer the question, the fact that they changed it to "6 months" is a good thing. smile.gif It means they are at or below their target of 6 months, whereas before they were not meeting the goal. So as frustrating as the wait is, we can at least take a little heart in the fact that things *are* getting better.

Well maybe the 1500 new employees they said they hired is actually helping the process. Hope the July increase was for a good reason.

I applied on the end of july, but I have no noa2. I check my case online everyday, but no touches. My fiance called up, but no answer. What is the accurate processing time? Did those may filers or june filers who recently got approved call up USCIS? The website said 6 months, but it seems that some folks got approved after more than 6 months. I wonder why they did not process based on the received dates? crying.gif
TinTin and Samby
Yes, It sure is frustrating to see the lack of consistency in processing times. Our NOA1 is July 17 and still no NOA2 or RFE or anything. And I can't get anywhere with an inquiry until after the six months current processing timeline has passed, so that's another 2 weeks of waiting. Ugh!

I would not become "obsessed" with the timelines, it can AND will drive you insane. You have some time to go, obsessing over the timelines is not a healthy way to spend that time. To keep your mind off it, start a hobby or something.

Agreed. good.gif

Oh the timelines drove me nuts! I have a screenie where at one point it said my projected date was the beginning of September - at the time it was about three days after the date on my timeline!! It soon moved back to the end of December for me though!!!

One thing you might like to check out is something weedebz put together for us July Filers:

http://www.editgrid.com/user/julyfilerprog..._filer_progress

When we started getting NOA2s we just added them in and we have been filling it all in bit by bit - because of the averages we can get a more accurate idea of when we were likely to be approved - of course there are always anomalies but that's life smile.gif

@sunshine - remember we have just had Christmas and New Year so they are prolly playing catch up at the moment - I am sure yours will be right around the corner smile.gif It might be worth your OH calling more until he gets a real live person - he might not have had much luck over the holidays because people weren't at work smile.gif *hugs*

How do you do RFE trick? My fiance simply called and got some computerized answer.
