Maggie, that is exactly where I'm getting my info from. I'm going to get notarised copies sent to me but try not to sweat about it too much based on other peoples experience. I'm just one of life's stresser that thinks "well if I don't do it they'll ask" I'm still convinced I'm gonna get declined anyway as Nick still not found work and not related to co-sponsor so stressing enough without the extra.
Saffyre
My fiance only just filed the I-129F so we have a LONg wait before we're at the interview stage but this thread is SO encouraging!
i can't wait to get my interview so we can be together. I miss him everyday......
weedebz
congrats to todays approvals!

@Janaus- congrats on a romantic interview date. What a great valentines gift!

I know what you mean Debz
I'm one of life's stressers too. You won't be declined, damn I thought I would be -
At my medical I was still half way through my treatment, they asked for further evidence after my op which was faxed to them, but i still had to go through 4 weeks of radiotherapy which wasnt mentioned. I finished all treatment on xmas eve. I was so sure that they would ask for further evidence at the interview. So sure that I even put my surgeons phone number on my mobile so I could call and ask for the information straight away.
At work I thrive on stress, can cope with any situation, but on a personal level I find it hard to cope. I know what I want and if anything possibly gets in the way then I panic.
I know that you are thinking that all sorts of things are going to lead to denial but believe me, you will be approved. All the stress I was going through was for nothing, it was so easy. I kept telling myself, these people have my life in their hands. Maybe I was right but they weren't out to give me the hard time I thought they were, they were friendly and gave me the approval I needed with the minimum of stress.

thanks maggie. I guess I'll know in 12 days. All going to plan if I do get approved I'm hoping to fly over 11th-13th march.

Yes they are.
100% so far, makes you wonder what things they would deny on. They must trust us uk people. I have read other country threads and their stories are horrendous. The 60 second, 4 or 5 question interview we get in London is a breeze compared with other countries. Lets hope that they keep it up and thats the norm.
snowfrostedlashes
Have just been reading through this thread and feeling encouraged that at least one part of the process should be straight-forward and that when we get to that point it will hopefully just be a formality.

Congratulations to all the people approved so far this year and good luck to those with interviews coming up!

Defo - I am going to be nervous enough without having some kind of brutal interrogation wacko.gif
Gwen666
They can and do deny. Drug use, criminal convictions (for sometimes seemingly harmless and/or spent convictions)...the denials do happen. We're at 100% now, but pop over to the waiver forum, there's a London-specific thread in there.

I remember a few years ago a couple that went just ahead of us got denied...I think they live in the UK now.
weedebz
I'm still convinced that will be me. I'm even starting to look into what we can do afterwards to either sort things out or as an alternative.

Also, to anyone wondering if having your fiancé(e) present at the interview helps, in my case I think it definitely DID. They didn't ask to see any proof of the relationship whatsoever despite us bringing loads of photos and other ####. They didn't even ask to see the letters of intent, oddly. This whole process, medical aside, has been strangely effortless for us. We filed the original I-129F at the end of September, and four months to the day later we've got the visa.

Woah, that is speedy! ohmy.gif

Congrats to you and DD2004!

Debz - it's always best to be prepared but I still maintain you will be 100% fine smile.gif

Scottsvisa was asking about form ds 2001 with packet 3...do any of u guys know anything about this?

That's the checklist, which has to be sent back so that your interview can be scheduled.

WAY too many codes and abbreviations in this process!!!

yeah, i agree, what's wrong with just calling it checklist....sounds nicer than evil form name ds 2001

Debz, you sound just like Bruce before his interview. If you don't believe me, go digging through some of my old posts in May and June 2007! He was convinced he was going to be denied because even though he passed the medical and had no criminal record, they wouldn't like the cut of his jib, or some such nonsense. I kept saying, we fulfill all the requirements. You're healthy and law-abiding. We were able to convince them we have a real marriage (I kept thinking, when we got the RFE for proof of a bona fide relationship, you, Mr Consular Officer, come over to our place when we're having a barney and you say we don't bicker like a couple that's been together for years laughing.gif ). I even dealt with the red flag which was the 12 days between my decree absolute and my wedding to Bruce by producing evidence we were living together well before the divorce. But Bruce was sure something, anything would go wrong. We even looked into moving to Canada (his grandparents live there).

Nothing did go wrong, and Debz, you have nothing to worry about either. It's natural to pre-disaster life-changing events like these and assume the worst is going to happen. And when you're on VJ like you and I and a lot of others are, you see some awful, heart-breaking tales and think: hey, that could happen to me. As Gwen says, it's not all sunshine and roses at London every day, and people can and do get put into AP or need a waiver or get a denial. But for common or garden tales of love and happiness like yours and mine, the outcome is usually -- not always, but usually -- a pleasant, anticlimactic one.

Hope that helps! heart.gif
DD2004
Hi Debz reading your posts boy do you sound like me LOL right up until 9-30am 30 mins before the interview time i was like you convinced that i was gonna get denied in fact id prepared myself to expect the worst and you know what IT DIDNT HAPPEN, id never been arrested or convicted no hidden past but i did have medical issues that need resolved and i was convinced that they'd look at that and just plain deny me . But honestly there was no spanish inquisition no brutal interrogation nothing like the other post it was a bit of an anticlimax a nice and pleasant one i may add. So don't tear yourself up about it do as someone here told me be yourself and you'll be alright .

Hi

Please can someone help me. I am currently waiting for my packet 3 to be sent out from the London Embassy. I know they received my case from NVC on Jan 17th. I called the visa info line this morning and was told it would be ok to send back my packet 3 documents downloaded from the internet before i'd received the packet through.

Do you think this is a good idea? Since i've been waiting since June I don't want to mess anything up but I'm getting so impatient and would love a Feb interview. The only thing i'm concerned about is will I get the packet 3 info on how to book my medical if they receive the forms before sending out packet 3?

Any advice would be appreciated!
Gwen666
Yes, you're fine to do that.
DonnaB
Thanks -thats good news!

Do you know if they'll still send packet 3 and the medical details?
weedebz
I have a clean medical, no convictions. My worry is the fact nick doesn't yet have a job but he is looking. I do have a co-sponsor who has no other dependants and makes over $90K but he is just a very close friend of the familywhich is also a worry. I have evidence of £9K of my own money to take with me.

Debz
Wish I could tell you something that will make it easier, but you are just like me. I had obvious worries and was convinced it would be an issue despite all the reassurance I got both off here and from family and friends and even medical people.
I only really relaxed when I heard the words "I'm pleased to tell you that you've been approved". I was so relieved and wanted to tell the world, the 10-15 minutes I had to spend in the courier queue were the hardest ever, I was stood there just bursting. laughing.gif
From what I see it takes an awful lot to be denied, so long as you dont have a criminal past and/or a communicable disease then the most they can ask for is further evidence. That is what I was expecting from them and was ready for it, had loads of numbers I put in my phone so I could ask in any eventuality.
You will be fine, just try and relax, I know its hard!!! In less than 2 weeks this will all be behind you smile.gif
Jeraly
Oh I can't wait to be at that point - at the forefront of my mind is the wedding though so I am chilled about everything else... of course when I get back I am expecting to be a neurotic mess!!! laughing.gif You guys are gonna have to scrape me up off the floor!!

Believe me, you will be at that point soon. Just get your packet 3 sorted and sent off. We will gladly scrape you off the floor, we are all in this together smile.gif
Jeraly
Haha!!

*hands around spatulas in preparation*

Yeah - I just want to get my forms up together before I go, then I will send them off when I get back smile.gif Have told Jeremy to get his act together on the I-134 (something he can do while I juggle everything else!) and while I was hoping to go through packet three this weekend... who knows!! I've spent all day on my dad's 50th birthday present and my wedding vows and tomorrow I need to make my jewellery and adapt my hairpiece... (makes it sound like I am going to wear a toupee laughing.gif)

Ok - maybe tomorrow I will look through the forms properly at the very least even if I don't get to filling them out!!!

It won't take you long to fill out the forms. Only took me half an hour or so (oh and at least 4 hours to check them over 10 times laughing.gif )
Jeraly
Hehe!! Is it really as simple as filling in forms? I don't need to have anything to go with them? Do I need to send the I-134 with them as well or do I bring that to interview? Does that need supporting documentation? Jeremy is in charge of that anyway but it can't help to know!!

In the meantime I have to make myself look like a Turkish woman for my dad's 50th birthday murder mystery party wink.gif

Forms and checklist, thats all at this stage. But make sure timewise that you will have all the items on the checklist before the interview. You can just send in the forms at this stage and forward the checklist once you have everything together. I sent it all together but they lost my checklist huh.gif , had to send that in again!!!!
Have fun at he party, will you be belly dancing? smile.gif
Jeraly
So I don't need to send the affidavit? Or do I have to send the I-134 and then bring any supporting evidence with me? Other than that isn't it just proof of ongoing relationship? What did you use?

No belly dancing for me - I think I would scare away all the guests!! Although then I could eat the curry all on my own... devil.gif

All you need to send in is the forms requested and the check list, everything else you take to the interview. All I needed at the interview was -
- The I-134 plus supporting evidence (notarized tax returns, letter from employer, copy of wage slips)
- My birth certificate + a copy
- My divorce certificate + a copy
- Police certificate + a copy
(got the originals back from the above 3)
- Recent notarized letter from Randy to say he is still going to marry me
- Passport photos

That was it, I had a big file of other evidence that I didn't need. Ended up carting it all round London for the day which was a pain.
j4k
i've been noticing everyone has been saying they got their forms notarized, is this definitely necessary? sorry if this sounds incredibly stupid...but that's gonna get kinda costly getting everything notarized! huh.gif

Randy got forms notarized at his local bank, didn't cost him a penny.
I-134, tax return and letter of intent. Just the 3 forms.
RosemarieL
I just had the I-134 notarised and we were approved.

They didn't give Griff any of our original or certified docs back, but we'd ordered extras so weren't counting on getting them back.

So when we file the I-129f and send all that stuff to them... what happens to it?!?!?! Is this why they say make a copy of the packt you send?!

All the stuff you sent in with the I-129f and for the interview goes into the Mysterious Brown Envelope, which you hand in to Immigrations when you enter the US on your K1 visa.
