I got approved too woo hoo kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

where in the waiting room were you stevo? what was your number lol i was 5019! Congratulations good.gif

Congrats Stuart! I was number 5003.. I got there at 7:30am this morning. The whole process only took around 1.5 hours, did you have to wait a long time? By the time I left, the embassy was pretty crowded.

what time was your actuall appointment? mine was 10am so I got there at 9am and didn't leave til about 2pm lol although they did have problems with the computer when they were doing me! so to speak.

I don't care tho if it took all day, I wasn't leaving til they said the magic words "you're approved" rofl.gif

Congratulations again

Stuart smile.gif

My appointment was at 8am! I had to leave my house at 6:30am, which I haven't done since I was 17.. haha. I got in to the embassy at around 8am, and left just before 10am. At the first part of my appointment, the computer wouldn't work as well. Had to grab everything and go from cubical 01 to 14, stopping of at 12 to pay the fees. What did you think of the giant envelope with the x-rays? It raised a few eyebrows when I sat down to wait for the interview. Maybe the onlookers thought I was a special agent? Well, probably not lol. I was trying to look out for you, but I couldn't recognise you from your forum picture. Congrats too, I agree, the words "you're approved" are worth any amount of time.

Steve biggrin.gif

wow that was early. i was cubical 1 too when it broke so must have just been that computer. how dumb are they that they continue to use a broken computer hours later after first discovering it was broken then looked shocked as if they didn't know lol Yeah I had to stand at cubical 1 for an hour whilst they tried to fix the computer with everyone looking at me carrying the brown envelope with my xrays. Must have looked very official and important. I was sitting up next to the courier service whilst I was waiting. How quiet was the place? nobody wanted to talk or make any noise, so many nervous people in the same room was really funny. Thankfully thats over for us now biggrin.gif

SMS delivered my visa this morning, it was issued on the same day as my interview, the 10th of November. Also got a giant envelope that's to only be opened by an Immigration Officer or a Public Health Officer.

We're STILL waiting. crying.gif

I think I have my timeline messed up on here but we started in Feb 2008, he was given the wrong papers for the police report -- took two months to get that straightened out, he got the medical in mid August (delayed a little bit because he was sent to his own doctor for a back up check on the blood pressure), but on Sept. 9th he sent his checklist and it was received and signed for by London on August 12th.

He spoke many times with a man in the embassy who said everything was received and okay -- just wait for the interview date. Nothing since then and that line doesn't lead to that nice man anymore, it leads to the helpline.

He spoke with the helpline last week -- they had no record of him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've emailed the embassy with the code they gave him -- nothing back from them. Maybe HE has to be the one to do the emailing, not ME? Would that make any difference? It's been one week.

Somebody can add us to the still waiting list if they want to. I hope to not be there for very long. I wish we didn't need such a list.

Did you get the auto reply?
As long as you are the filer - you can email inquires to the consulate (according to DOS/NVC).
I mailed an inquiry on 11/15/08 and according to the auto mail they are taking 3 to 4 days to reply to emails. Hopefully I will hear something by thursday!
8 months and counting since NOA1.

I just heard from my congressman's office that Pete's interview will be January 9th at 9am. (unless we can get it sooner so he can be here for Christmas.) He should receive the letter in a few days telling him that it's the 9th.

Just spoke with DOS today, and Sarah's interview is January 13th, at 8am.

Good luck to everyone!!!!!!

NEWSFLASH!!!!!!!

Pete finally got an interview for Jan. 9th but we wanted to try for something before CHRISTMAS. We called and got a code number and I emailed and within 24 hours I got an email back with his new interview date of DECEMBER 9!!!!!

I didn't even know you could get your interview date moved up until I read it on here. We're going to be practicing the questions and he's going to be getting all the documents in order -- F-A-S-T. Thanks for all the help along the way, it's been since mid-February when we filed and said good bye. This is exciting and scary at the same time.

Yay, that's great.

Good luck lsma for tomorrow!!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY for all of you and good luck.
We've spent tonight on the phone rehearsing the questions and making sure he has all the documents. This is nervewracking but ours will soon be over. Whatever happens, I'll come back here and post about it -- anyone still waiting can use all the information they can get.

To think that I had to call my congressman's office and THEY were the ones who first told me the interview date.

Then I emailed the embassy and got it moved up to Dec. 9th--instead of taking 8 days to answer like they did before, they answered in TWO days. Furthermore they said that his interview would now be on Dec. 9th instead of January.

In addition to THAT, it only took TWO days for him to receive the interview letter from them. It didn't even get lost in the mail like everything else has.

(I can't believe that I returned the embassy email and said I LOVED THEM!) (or is it my congressman's office that I should be loving??) good.gif

And that's a yes to a visa for us! Will write review later when I come down off this big high!

Lorri, as soon as you get your date I'll add you to the list, hopefully you won't be waiting too long. The still waiting list above is for those stuck in some kind of AP or approval is pending for some other reason. Unfortunately it looks like Sad Eyes has been there a while.

Lorri, I hope they speed things up for you. I know how upsetting and frustrating it is. Can't they just do this ONE thing for you so you can get the interview scheduled??!!!!

star_smile.gif

There's a lucky star for you.

My Pete is heading to London TOMORROW night (my stomach is knotting up, sinking feeling too). He's going by overnight bus from the North, getting off the bus and going by tube to the embassy for 8:30. He should be called at 9 and he just HAS to get approved. Assuming he does get approved, he's going to wait around and get the visa that same day.

He's going to call me tomorrow night just before he gets on that bus for London. and (since he's too cheap--which is a good thing) he's not going to take his cell/mobile phone with him I don't know how he's going to call me to tell me the results. Oh, he's meeting an old friend in London -- the friend will probably let him use his phone to call me. I'm rambling on like this because I'm nervous.

Thank you for adding us to the December list.

Just to let you know the visa won't be issued the same day. It will be delivered by courier to his home/work address and can take up to a week to arrive.

Maybe so but he's been told that he can pay and then come back at the end of the day and pick it up. No matter really --as long as he gets it! smile.gif
elmcitymaven
That's the first time I've ever heard of someone being told they could pick it up same day -- who told him this? I'm just asking because I wouldn't want him to be disappointed! smile.gif
lsma
Good luck for tomorrow.

My visa was available for delivery the following day from the interview so you probably won't have long to wait even if they don't release it that day
Laura+Tom
Yeah I suppose it would be nice to know if it was the embassy that said that. Especially for those that don't live very close to London. I've never heard of anyone getting theirs the same day in London, every review that I have read they had to pay for delivery and wait between one day and about 7 depending on circumstances.
newenglander
I don't know who told him he could get his visa the same day, I wish I could tell you. I'll be able to tell you more when I get to talk to him.

It couldn't have been the embassy because you can't even speak to them. It could have been his lawyer's assistant (not the one we used) because they do some immigration.

He called to say good bye while he was waiting for the bus and now he's on his way.
