Hello! Well it's been an exhausting few days. I got "blue-slipped" as we failed to fill out an affidavit of support for my son....don't ask me how I managed to over look that but I did...I KNEW something was missing

Anyway, the courier is picking up the document and as soon as they get it at the embassy they will send out our passports with visas attached. Apart from that it was very simple and we were only there for an hour.

My computer has to be packed away tonight as the removal blokes turn up tomorrow

My wife phoned me today to tell me my interview date is September 30th. I am doing IR1 and she said there was no information regarding the medical appointment? Does this come separately or do I arrange that?

Hi Kirsten....my son is 12. I had in my mind the whole time "2 separate visa applications..2 of everything" the Affidavit of Support just slipped me by I guess....but yeh, if she has her own visa application you will need to fill one out for her too.

Is there an updated London interview list/tracking sheet? Im trying to approximate when my interview may be scheduled based on current wait times as I have to give 2 months notice to leave work (ridiculous I know!) .

I tried using the search function but didnt get far, Im probably being dumb lol

If you look at the timetimes for IR-1/CR-1 you can filter it for the diferent service centres, dates etc which can give you an idea of when peoples interviews are being scheduled.

Ahhh as the day gets nearer, I feel like I am about to be sick from being so paranoid! I just got back from visiting my fiance yesterday & discovered my BANK LETTER laying on the desk...I was so upset at myself! I had been so anal about getting everything together & forget that damn thing. So all that is missing from the folders are my co-sponsor's bank statements & my bank letter...feel like i am about to puke. lol

Oh, my fiance is all paranoid about his chest xray results, since he is a smoker & all. Poor boy...I have been telling him to quit. - He's going cold turkey whenever he gets here. I am pretty sure our daughter wouldn't approve of his nasty habit. But, don't know how we'll handle him being irritable since he's going the turky route!

He seemed a little startled when I gave him the folder with our papers...the flap couldn't exactly close all the way.

Boobah, why no patches? I know people who found the inhalers that are shaped like cigarettes really helpful, you know when your having a cup of tea, or some other time when the habit is strongest?

My Dad quit cigaretts with the patches and was plenty irratible, I would have hated to see him quit without!

Finally !!! we have been given an interview date of October 2nd 2008!!! We are so excited and can not believe this part of the journey is finally coming to an end!!! Unfortunately Barry will have to stay in a hotel the night before though because the interview time is 8:30 in the morning! Does anybody know of any cheap hotels in the area? Any way can't complain because so many people are in a far worse situation than us.

Weeeee! So he called me at 2.14am (7.14 for him) to tell me he just got to the embassy. He was a bit scared about all the guys with big weapons walking around the area...lol...guess he's not used to seeing security guards like that.

Then, at 5.10 (10.10) he called again. He sounded a little worried & quiet...then said "Babe...I am coming to america! OH YEAH OH YEAH OH YEAH..."...here's my half sleepy self, being all "what? weeeee! ah hell you're really out of the embassy that quick?!". His appointment was at 9am. We were expecting him to be there for 2 hours, at least!

They just asked him 3 questions. Then, they said that all the papers were perfect, they couldn't ask for more. I gave myself a pat on the back, since I went through hell organizing that financial folder & obviously had thought the few missing things would screw everything up. ;p

They didn't ask for any proof of ongoing relationship.

When it came to the i-134 crap, the person wanted EVERYTHING. That should of taken quite a bit of load off his back. lol

So happy & tired! I'm going back to sleep. Will fill out my review thingie at some point.

Does the sponsor have to collect all the same finanical stuff for the 864 form? If so, then damn it, here we go again. D: haha

Ok so I am new to this website and have alot to say:

I have been married for over four years now and am Active Duty US Air Force. I will try and give you the short story of my problem. In 2004 when my stepson was born I filed for a perminate visa to the U.S. along with his mother, my wife . After years of paperwork being sent back and forth and hand carried to the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo I move to the UK with my family for a new Job. The U.S. Embassy in Tokyo required an amended report of birth which says the father of stepson is unknown. At the time of his birth it was thought that I was his father. After a DNA test which was requested by the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo came back negative, we applied for his Philippine citizenship (they used his base birth certificate and registered me as the father). When we completed all the documents for Immigration and scheduled an appointment with the Embassy we were told we needed a new report of birth. We have since moved to England due to a forced Military move and our paperwork is now at the U.S. Embassy in london. This literally took an act of congress to transfer my case. We have spent all of our savings on this process making trips to Tokyo from our former base in Misawa, costing us thousands of dollars each time, trips to the Philippines costing us thousands of dollars each time. We have also cost the U.S. government thousands of dollars when we PCS’d (moved) from Japan to England. We had to fly via a foreign flag carrier which cost the government five thousand dollars for each of my family members, four in all. We have done everything asked of us and have been put to the test but I am under the impression that my wife and stepson will never see my family in the states. I was told that for the amendment to the report of birth my wife and I will have to go back to the Philippines. I do not have any leave left or money for that matter. The Philippine government process for an amendment to a report of Birth will cost me anywhere from 5 to 10k U.S. dollars. Now we finally have a visa appointment for 2 Oct at 0830 and I am worried that we do not have a good birth certificate for my stepson. I talked to the embassy months ago and they said just to bring what we have. What do you think they will say???

Wow. That's a tough one.

Its too bad that you just didn't leave your name on your stepson's birth cert as you could have avoided all these problems. I'd try to hire an attorney who could likely take care of all this remotely for you. Good luck.

Well on the philippine birth certificate and the batisml certificate I am the father. On the new paperwork issued by the miliary hospital he was born at in Japan it says father unknown.

Why would you present anything other than the birth certificate?

I'm puzzled as to why new "paperwork" was issued. Were you trying to register his birth to obtain a US passport for him?

Congratulations on getting an interview date, Rebecca. That is great news. It seemed to happen so smoothly for you two with the turnaround time of sending packet 3 and getting packet 4. We are on two weeks and two days now, and getting concerned.

Hey guys just a quick question, I was wondering if anyone could tell me when I should expect my Visa, keeping in mind that I had my medical after I was approved and Knightsbridge said they wouldnt send my medical results until 4-5 business days later, I figured some time this coming week?.

Also the only Jazz I paid for with the postage was before 12 delivery nothing else.

Hi Everyone. I've been a regular poster in the CSC Feb 2008 filers forum, but not here - sorry to join the party late!!

I had my K1 interview 3 days ago (Thurs 18th Sept) in London. Like the recent postings I was greeted at the 2nd interview to the opening words..."your paperwork is perfect...which is unusual" so that calms the nerves straight away.

Similarly, it was the basic Q's of "how did you meet" (answer), " what happened next" (answer). "What was your longest stay in US?" (Answer). "What do you do for a living?" (Answer), "Have you given up your job yet" (NO!!), "Does your employer know about this though?" (Yes).....""I'm pleased to say you are approved....take pink slip to front desk to courier"....a big grin on my face, I say thank you, and then off I go to the courier, pay them and leave.

Here's my question for those who have recently had their K1 visa approved and passport returned:

I walked away from the consular officer with my Original police certificate, original birth certificate, my xrays (I had medical 2 weeks before interview) and of course my own wallets of supporting info (which they never asked for).
I am aware that when you enter the USA, you also have with you the famous sealed yellow envelope (and of course your passport).......so my question is.....does the yellow envelope come in the same delivery as the passport?

yes the famous brown envelope comes with your passport/visa.

you could call Knightsbridge doctors to see if they have sent it to the embassy, thats what I did.

For those of us/you who have recently been approved at the interview, I was wondering if you have come across some sensibly priced shipping options, that will allow us UK based people to ship a lot of our belongings out to the US. Surely this can't be the first time this has been asked but I have searched a lot on the internet for UK companies that ship to the USA but as yet my instinct is telling me I have not looked in the right areas....anyone know of good uk shipping companies to take my possessions out to the USA???
