Congrats to those who have had interviews and to those that have moved.
Am still sorting my paperwork (bleh) and have a formal apology from the HPA.gov over the mess they made with my bloodtest <-- thats Just one of many things that could go wrong that have done ( lol )
Well I decided that i was gonna be stubborn and try and see the process through to the end - cause i am hopeless at starting something and not being able to finish it - guess i am like a dog with a bone now

which is kinda ironic as i am now stuck waiting as they have my passport and information and seem to have gone on holiday for 2 weeks from lookin at the interview dates in August.
Anyways Hello and congrats people

Two interesting things happened, one guy started screaming because he got refused again everyne just watched with morbid fascinatin as he was escorted away and a car that i kept seeing on the trip to london had RFE on the number plate

Hi all.

He got his interview date for September 15!
It makes me kinda sad though, because I am jetting off to see him the week before that. I can't even change my ticket, because of the Monday the interview lands on. The 13-14th weekend is when I have to work (mandatory). :/ Sucks. Oh well. I will hand the papers over to him, pat him on the butt & wish him the best of luck!

What a shame you'll miss him by just a week! He'll be fine, though.

Congratulations on getting an interview date at last!

Thanks

I am getting really nervous now though. my income is right under the requirement (22,000) ... my friend finally agreed to do it since her last year return came in at 25,000...but she's working less this year at one of her jobs so I dont know if they will actually calculate & find that out or what
She's the only one willing to help (everyone from family either couldn't or didn't want to help).
My friend has already brought to my attention all these white hairs I've been sprouting on my head lately...think it's going to get worse. :S

I've seen the answer somewhere but -- what is he NOT allowed to take to the interview? No phone, no watch, no what else? Does he have to PAY to put those things into security?
Thanks, he's wondering.

Anything electronic. that includes usb thumb drives. you have to go to the pharmacy across the street & pay them £10 to hold your stuff

Thank you SO much! Knowing him, he'll hate to pay anything to store things. But he'll have to have at least his watch and phone with him. I'll pass your information along and again, knowing him, he'll try to figure out a way to avoid this.

Does airport passport control really care about what sort of airline ticket a K1 holder has? We were looking up tickets to see their prices & one-way cost $1500, while a round trip uis only $818! We're going to get a round trip ticket then! But, I want to be sure they won't give him poo for it when he's at the airport...
Alex & Rachel
Aug 25 2008, 05:55 PM
No! A round trip ticket is absolutely fine. They understand it's cheaper and many people do book them.

I am September 5th, seems London has quite alot of September slots.
My Folder of 'stuff' has grown and grown, I have tonnes of evidence and required forms like police certificate etc;. I think it may be overkill so I put in tabs so if they asked for anything I would have it!. I would rather over prepare than get there and be missing something silly.

Good luck with your interview, I had a big folder also and they only asked for 3 Docs, I think the folder scared them lol.

LOL yeah I think Gareth will go with quite a large folder as well as like you all said better to be over prepared then missing one little thing that could hold it all up even longer! We have waited long enough!!!

Good to know I am not the only one, I was starting to feel like an eejit!
Since they go threw alot of cases per day hopefully they will ask for the required forms, and think "her folder is so big lets not chance having to sit and watch her show us everything in it, approve her"

I can hope!

We both were allowed to wear our watches inside the embassy. Nick had to put his in a plastic bag with his belt and everything else in his pockets (wallet, coins) to ride through the x-ray machine. She told me I could just stick mine inside my handbag to go through the machine.

So whats the odds of them asking for bank statements? My co-sponsor kept putting it off until this past Saturday & they have to "request" them & it's going to take a week. I go to see my fiance on Friday to give him all his papers & spend one last time in England (it'll be a long while before we go back!).
I'm super paranoid about it. She managed to gather everything else though (pay stubs, bank letter, employment letters, w2, transcripts). Need I say, she did drag her feet until I told her (last week) about my upcoming trip ! Sheesh!

I reckon you will be fine, we are using everything you mentioned for ours to and you have more than enough.
I have a possibly silly question, they accept GBP at the Embassy right? for the Visa?, I have had trouble spending notes that say Bank of Scotland on them in England and Vice Versa, am I better off going to the travel agent and getting dollars? if so how much do I need?

Yes they accept GBP at the embassy. You shouldn't have problems spending Scottish notes in England! Its legal tender. I know how it is though, I had a few places not wanting to take my money in London. The same people would expect to be able to use the bank of England notes north of the border though...

Nicoxcx - if you want to play save you should be able to walk into any High Street bank and simply exchange Bank of Scotland notes for Bank of England, especially if you bank with them. There's a Lloyds TSB two minutes from Bond Street tube on Oxford Street.

Woohoo!. took 3 hours mind you, and most of that was waiting in line, the interview was pretty much a doddle the lady I got was very nice and having a laugh with me, trying to catch me out but asking me the same question about a date or year later on in the conversation. She said its approved pending Medical results and said to me if I am as healthy as she thinks I am I will be absolutely fine

Good luck on your interview. Glad you got it all sorted out...the missing I-130 file and all.
