Congratulations! biggrin.gif Glad to hear of another stress-free experience in London!
Roselinda
Ooooh! Just wanted to add. There was a little bit of stress on my part. wacko.gif

I made the mistake of paying £1.50 for a drink whilst in the Embassy.

I swear it was the worst £1.50 ever spent.

Bought a Gatorade Fierce or something. Grape flavour.

Seriously was the worst thing I've ever tasted. lol

Avoid at all costs! Be warned!
BexandAlan
Congratulations!!

CONGRATULATIONS Roselinda.

Congratulations on the approval!!!

Hello! My packet 3 was received by the embassy on june 6th, so it shouldn't be long now till the interview. Reading all your stories has helped a lot! I'll let you know when my interview is so it can be added to the list. I'll also be updating my timeline this evening :-)

Hi all,

Myself and daughter just had medical at Bentwick Mansions. Everything went more or less ok pending blood and x-ray results and a report from my daughter's school.......Report from my daughter's school? Well I had read that the Asian doctor was scary, but she seems to have scared my daughter to death....and when asked my daughter was not able to give her name or date of birth.....so now doctor think she has some kind of mental impairement and want a report from the school. Asian doctor gave me a letter (private & confidential all over it) to give to the school explaining what she wants. I don't think it will be a problem...My daughter is a bit late in school process especially in maths but there is nothing wrong with her mentally or intellectually.

Apart from that the nurse was very nice...she gave a waiver for my daughter HPV vaccin explaining that it will be cheaper to get it done in the States the X-ray man was a sweetie, as well as all the rest of the staff.

I am just glad this part is over......Just have to wait for packet 4 now whistling.gif

Um, we need some more interview dates, guys!

We have a date for the list: Nick & Nich 2008-07-29.

I know, I know, it's a long way off, but we requested (in a cover letter) something after July 15 since Nick already had a ticket to the USA July 4-12. The trip was scheduled months ago because it's his birthday. Didn't want the visa before that, didn't want it scheduled during the trip, didn't want to cancel the non-refundable ticket...so July 29 works. good.gif

conrgratulations on the interview date biggrin.gif
Nich-Nick
Thanks Crissy and Pandora. We three have very similar filing times. Sadly, the Cambridge folks have out-rowed the Oxford team and we need to concede the race to you. We rowed really fast, so maybe you just caught the lucky current. LOL

Good luck on the interview. I booked a free frequent flyer ticket to the UK so I can be there for the interview and go over the stuff with Nick one more time.

The current does seem a bit random! I took ages to gather my supporing documents but the Oxford / Cambridge race isn't over yet - I am hoping to fly mid August all being well so you can still win with a last minute sprint! Virgin Atlantic allow one way reward flights so I think I will be treating myself to upper class which lets me take a total of 5 suitcases (3 x 32kg + 2 in the cabin!) - that a lot of Yorkshire Tea, Branston Pickle and Heinz salad cream! biggrin.gif

I am really impressed there is an orange comma before my name in the list biggrin.gif

No sprints from Oxford. He's been planning around October 1 for a while now. He's not going to give notice at his job until after the whole approval. He's got a lot of stuff to go through and decide what to bring, but he's only working on it in his mind...hahaha...as far as I see. (I know he will read this and think I'm nagging.) Actually he's sold two cars recently and last weekend took a bunch of stuff to the tip or skip...forgot what's British for the dump. Nick is the person that when somebody says, "I need a cable for an XYZ" or "I need some memory for my ABC" or "I need Windows Caveman edition", he can open a drawer or box and produce it. So it's going to be a chore for him to pull up stakes. I do feel sorry for all of you moving and having to go through those decisions.

Nick plans to come first class too if he can work out a frequent flyer ticket. A friend of mine wanted a one-way and the lady at Continental told her to book round trip, and she could redeposit her miles after she didn't make the return. We'll have to look into that. I brought a big box of tea bags back with me last time I was over. Kroger has the essential Coleman's and Branston, although it's not minced just right. He can give up the Marmite for some jalapeno peppers and salsa.

There's a t-shirt I suggested he wear to his last day at work. The quote on it:
"You may all go to hell and I will go to Texas."---Davy Crockett

StillThePrettiest

Well, Milena and I have an interview on Tuesday afternoon. While it is related to the I-130 and not the immigrant visa (they want to establish that we have a bona fide relationship, apparently), I thought we would join this thread that I been watching enviously since February. Wish us well!

Oh, and who performs the regular interviews? The immigrant visa unit? I'm just wondering if it is the same people who will be performing our interview, the US citizenship and immigration services.

He said it to the somebody like the Tennessee legislature after they failed to re-elect him. There's more than t-shirts available.

The people who do the I-130 are separate from the visa unit. I know, if she is still there, the lady that runs the I-130 office and she is very fair and a real nice person.

That's a slight comfort. We are trying to gather as much evidence as we can before Tuesday. In mid-May they requested signed affadavits (legalized by a solicitor) from three colleagues and myself, vouching for our bona fide relationship. We also sent our joint bank statements and bills from our apt in London. This time we are taking pictures from the wedding and and invitation and pictures from all over the world over the past nine months, samples from nine months of emails/messenger chats...plus flights that we took together. I suppose this should all have been sent in in May, but I thought the affadavits and joint bank account statements would be enough.

I don't mean to hijack this threat. We just feel this is not going well for us, and I'm really glad to hear the person in charge of I-130 is fair and nice. Maybe she can get us a DS-230 interview soon, ie forward our application right away, because we have waited a very long time, have all our police certificates ready, and would love to get on the road...

... but at least we have a date (July18th). I could go on and on whining about how we are just about the last filers from our month to have their interview, which we are, but what good would that do at this point. Grrrrr.

We do have one question. In the interview letter, the $130 fee is quoted in american dollars (versus pounds for the courier). What type of funds should he bring to pay the interview fee with... dollars or pounds? blink.gif
