I can only tell you how long mine took... 45 minutes from entering the building to leave it. Other people may have had different experiences though.
guinness1969
Hi all. I have a quick question. My husband had his medical a few weeks ago and we he still has not recieved his packet 4. Should we be worried?

Thanks,
LisaJo
Jeraly
Depends - did he get his packet 3 yet? If so , did you send it back? That is what will determine when you get your packet 4, not the medical smile.gif
guinness1969
Yes he got his packet 3 and sent it in. I thought the info for the interview came with the medical appt.?
Jeraly
No - the packet 4 info is based on when they process your packet 3... lemme check my dates...

Here are my dates:

~ 03/13/08 - Packet 3 mailed to Embassy
~ 03/19/08 - Packet 3 received by Embassy
~ 04/02/08 - Packet 4 received
~ 04/08/08 - Medical
~ 04/09/08 - Interview - APPROVED!!!

Hope this helps a bit! I booked my medical the day I found out my interview date so I could just make one trip to London though smile.gif
guinness1969
OK, so it took about a 3 weeks between sending packet 3 and recieving an interview date. That puts my mind at ease a little. Hopefully we will hear something really soon.

Thank you so much for replying. This is Andy's profile and he is the one who understands most of what is happening with our visa. However, he does not have access to a personal computer and is at the mercy of friends who let him use theirs. So he is depending on me to shuffle through this site to get an idea of where we stand. I have to admit I get a little confused at times. huh.gif
Glyn and Kathy
Hi everyone. Just back from my VERY quick trip back to the States. What a weekend. I went with the intention of seeing my children in their school play and dance recital and missed them both as my flight leaving MAN was three hours late and I didnt land in New Hampshire until 10:30 at night. I have had about 13 hours of sleep since Friday morning and I look like something out of a horror movie.
We are leaving in 40 minutes to the train station so we can head into London for Glyn's interview tomorrow at 9.
I am a mess. I am so afraid that I am going to forget something because I am sooooo tired. I have checked and double checked everything though so we should be all set.
Just wanted to let you all know we were leaving. We will let you know how it goes when we get back.
BexandAlan
Kathy I'm sure everything will go just super tomorrow. Will be thinking of you guys. I can't wait to hear the good news.

Good Luck

WOOOOHOOOOO! APPROVED! What a wonderful thing to be able to say. We just got back about an hour ago...and believe it or not, we have already received a text message from SMS that the visa will be delivered tomorrow. kicking.gif
It was a long trip into London and a rainy day today walking to the Embassy (we're too cheap for a taxi) but so worth it. I cannot believe how easy it was and how much we worried.
Thanks for all your help everyone.

Great news martin, London is a breeze, ask if you need anything.
Martin&Nat
Hey Sally

Well, seeing as you asked!

It doesn't look like I have been requested to show any evidence of a continued relationship. Will I be asked for this at the interview? I only ask because it would be a pain having to go into town to print off some photos if they aren't needed. I have her boarding card from when she visited in April which I will take along anyway.

Also, what documents do I need to have photocopied for them? Is it just my birth certificate, police certificate and the I-134 (which I already have three notarised copies of anyway).

Thanks!

They didnt ask me for any proof of relationship although I had about 6 photos with me, emails and stuff like that to show if asked. But I would advise to take it with you, would be sods law if you dont take it they will want to see it.

I photocopied, my birth certificate, police certificate and divorce papers. Personally id rather them keep photocopies than certified copies that you may need later.

Good luck hon

Photocopy everything that is on the check list that you need to keep the original off. If you don't have photocopies the Embassy keeps the original document.

Congratulations to everyone who has been successful over the last few days.

Not been on the list much recently as I decided to find out if bronchitis in the US was as bad as the UK strain. It is and you get a medical bill as well. sad.gif

It is amazing that everyone is so convinced that somehow, in the absence of any issues, they will be different and be denied. I was exactly the same way!

kicking.gif Had my interview this morning. Passed kicking.gif

Oh my goodness. I swear I slept for only 2 hours. I kept waking up and looking at the clock. I was convinced I was going to sleep through the alarm.

Anyway. It was so easy and not the least bit as stressful as I thought it would be.

My interview was at 8am. I got there around 7.40am. Went through the relatively short security line. Took off my ever so huge earrings and watch. I've around the Embassy area before and I have now found that Marble Arch station is by far the closest. Trust me! I'm not a great walker.

Checked in with the receptionist and got ticket number 5004. Nice number as the first one was 5000 (immigrant visas). They whizz through the non-immigrant applicants (1000's). But I only waited for around 40 mins to be called first. Went loo twice before being called. lol

Got called to the window. Handed over my documents to a really nice lady who smiled throughout after she informed me her petticoat was twisted under her skirt and annoying her.

She took all my documents. Asked me to go to another window to pay the fee. I was actually worried as I hadn't changed cash to dollars, but that was no problem and I actually got $262 dollars for both visas for the amount of only £132. Great rate! Wonder if they'll change some currency for me at that rate? whistling.gif She took copy of his tax form, I134 and copy of letter from his employer. That was it. Including of course my Police Report, Birth Certificates etc.

Had my fingerprints taken and then was sent back to wait in the seating area. Which by the way, was standing room only by the time I got through the whole process. ohmy.gif

Was called back to another window after only 20 minutes. Another nice lady asked how we met, how I get on with his children, etc.

Had to then retake my fingerprints. Only left hand this time. By the way! How hard is it to get the darn two thumbs together? lol

Then did the whole '' I swear this is the truth'' statement and was told bar anything coming back on my fingerprints I'll have my visas in the next 3-5 days. kicking.gif Woohoo!

***** On a separate note. My son is in his father's name. We never married but thanks to L&P (many thanks) and some of the posts on here I got a couple of copies of letters from both my local HMCS and the Family Division of the HMCS stating that I have full parental responsibility and his father has not now or ever had (requested) or earned that right. I was asked if I was ever married. No! She looked over the document and handed it back.)*****

Thanks again to everyone for all the help and support. I can now look forward to the future. good.gif
