he leaves for work at 6:30am. so not looking good for the morning. He had a cricket game last night and wanted the day off anyways. 1st cricket game of the season. means i gotta listen to him complain he's sore!! so he'll be happy for more than one reason.
StillThePrettiest
oh, I didn't mean before he left, just that he may get the rest of the day actually OFF, and be able to go out and do something fun, if it arrives in a timely fashion smile.gif
Poiteen
Not only did I not get a text, but they actually attempted delivery to my workplace and didn't even tell me. I was worrying that something had gone wrong with the visa issuance. (serves me right for being so blase about the actual interview wink.gif ).

Sent off my passport on a Friday, the following Wednesday I called the courier company - no, they had no doc's for me, Thursday I called the extortion line, the last info they had on my was the interview!!! - panic. Friday I give in and call the courier again. They had tried to deliver to me on Thursday!!! But wait, where was the text, the phone call, the card to say they had been there - nothing!!! How long were they going to hold on to my passport without telling me????? Asked them to deliver to me that day - that would be an additional £25 on top of the original charge. Had it delivered on the following Monday instead for no additional charge. They warned me that if they weren't able to deliver it this time, I would have to pay for a further attempt, however they refused to guarantee that the courier would call my mobile if he was stuck outside (our reception isn't always manned). GRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! SMS couriers are SH!!!!!!!!!TTT ranting33va.gif

Wow, I've been saving up that rant. Over now. Hope you're all having a lovely sunny day.
Damian&Kelly

Goodluck with those who have interviews upcoming.

The dealings I've has with sms in past have been dreadful. But that was with concert tickets. I'm hoping to get better service with the visa.

I've just started the ball rolling for sms to pick up my notarized letter of intent/passport for pick up tomorrow. Hopefully not too long before I get the return delivery. smile.gif

Now if they don't turn up before midday tomorrow, like I've paid for, there will be hell on! headbonk.gif

We have an interview date of June 3rd, but will not be in England at that time. We are both currently in the States - does anyone know how to request a change in interview date from inside the US?

We called the US Embassy and they said they couldn't help us.....any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Others have been in your same situation and have written a letter to the embassy, requesting an alternate interview date. All were successful. Good luck!
NickyMcMillan
Yeah just write them a nice letter. Thats what I did a couple months back. Got a new date within a few days.

All the best.

Thanks to you both - did you ask for a specific date? We will be in England for a week in June and are hoping to have the interview then. THanks!

No I didn't ask for a specific date. I just stated I was available for an interview anytime after April 21st. So they gave me one for the 30th.

Let them know when your available. London are usually pretty good that way. Tho you may have to be prepared to stay in the UK abit longer? Could be possible they have no interview slots left that week.

Hope it works out for you.

Nope - I got nothing formal to say I was approved - I took the lady at the window telling to pay for the courier as all the proof I needed laughing.gif
Poiteen
I got a blue sheet of paper - but that was cos it had on it the stuff I was missing sad.gif

they still took payment for the visa regardless, not for the courier though
NickyMcMillan
Goodluck! My IO didn't say flat out that I was approved. Just that I was "good to go" once I sent in the notarized letter of intent.

All the best.
Poiteen
On the blue slip of paper that I got, it had 'You weren't approved because of the following reason:' and then it had a list of possible problems with a box beside them. They ticked the box 'documents required' for me. But if you were actually denied then they tick the piece of law that applies to you - that is the reason (fraud, not eligible etc.) that you were denied.

So - If you don't get the blue piece of paper with one of the 'bad' boxes ticked, you're approved!!!

I still can't believe Kris' is in less than a week. He is going to ask them if he is approved if they don't say. He wants to try and book the tickets when he gets home LOL.. Btw.. looking at the history of approvals to visa receipt.. it seems it varies anywhere from 2-4 days.. is that about right? I'm just hoping he gets his by Friday or Saturday.. (do they deliver on saturday?) Also.. how does it work if you pay for expidited? is there any mark difference?

I don't believe they deliver on Saturdays. If you pay for expedited delivery all it does is guarantee that they will deliver before a certain time of day (say 6am if you go to work early). You won't get the visa on an earlier day, just an earlier time of the day they are delivering it anyway.

that's kind of what i was thinking. What about how long (day wise) is what I've noticed as the trend pretty accurate? I fear him making his flight for the following Wed as being too quick but I can't see there being problems realistically unsure.gif

We are both nervous wrecks at the moment
the medical was a bit of a nightmare and I had to pay an additional 150 for some blood screens to check my immunization due to rather lax NHS records, unfortunately they wont be prepared until Friday so if anything good happens it will be 'pending medical' lol

Hopefully that won't change anything
hope I can get some sleep tonight lol

My fiance had her Interview on Tuesday May 13th and just received her visa this morning. She paid for the expedited service so that it would arrive before 8am, before she left for work. We have her ticket booked for May 21st. We had called before we sent in Packet 4 to make sure we were sending in all the right documents.

Well it seems like ages since yesterday, my blood pressure is down apparently as well

Unfortunately we did not get approved on the spot, our medical results had not come in and a slight complication in the I-864 cropped up
Our sponsor filed joint returns so he needed to send us his W2 to prove his individual income was still high enough to meet the guidelines, he emailed it over to us yesterday and we printed it out (which the CO said was fine if the quality was high)

SMS are scheduled to come pick up that and my passport again today

All the things I was worried about were no big deals, it really was the anti climax! smile.gif
and why is it the COs are so much more chirpy than the consular staff? lol

There was a fair bit of waiting around, it seemed like it was 'Camp America day' at the embassy so all the potential CA wannabes were getting NI visas.. while waiting for my ticket to be called (I was 5009) they saw over 100 NI apps lol (1086 - 1224)

Anyway based on what the CO said we are pretty sure I am good to go, just need those forms in
