what size bed do you share with your SO? and are you happy with that choice or would you prefer another (name which)?

i currently have a queen but ever since my SO arrived it seems quite tight (he is about 6'5" and i'm no shrimp either at 5'8").
we went mattress shopping tonight and i reaaaaaaaaaally wanted to buy a king but it seems so huge (but really comfy looking)! if we move to a place with a smaller bedroom (like apartments in NYC) i feel like we would regret that decision. we took a queen but i could easily cancel and take the king. i'm just worried its a mistake! do you think most places could accomodate a king?
help!

we have a Queen sized bed...

it is just right for us but I sometimes have to remind hubby to move over because sometimes he crowds me all the way over until I am right on the edge of the bed

Queen 100%. Neither of us are very big and there is the snuggle factor. Not too small and not too big. It's JUST right!

Queen. In theory, a full can fit my 6'1" frame (so long as I don't use a pillow).

Pras oft likes the last sleep of the morning to be leaning her head on my shoulder (which obviously means both of us wind up on the same side).

We currently have a full bed.. usually we fit pretty well, unless one of us moves in the night... but then a poke or two and its all good again... However, if we ever get a new bed it would likely be a queen...

LOL Sounds like your hubby and my hubby are twins! I have fallen off the bed in the middle of the night because of him!

Queen. It works just fine.

We have a double. Sometimes I think a queen would be nice, but we don't feel crowded, and a queen would be too big for our apartment right now.

I have a queen but will definitely get a king later.

I have a full. We'll see how that works. lol

I have a Queen. My SO has not arrived yet....but in Egypt we share a full size and the Queen will be much better.

a queen is good with a king size comforter.

However, if I had a bigger room, I would get a King size.

I like a king flat sheet and comforter too but still on my queen bad. All this bed talk is going to get me missing my fiancée tonight. I love feeling her next to me. Sighhhhh...

We have a king, and sometimes thats not even big enough. Gary is a very restless sleeper and i end up getting pushed, and poked with an elbow during the night.

I loooong time ago, I slept in a king bed at a hotel suite. Hated it. I lost my S/O in there.

We have a queen - we're also 5'8" and 6'4". We used to sleep on a full and that was a little tight, so the queen seems luxurious now.

Here is my personal experience. As you know I live in NY - Queens to be exact, in a rather spacious studio apt with a separate kitchen. I recently bought a king size bed and was worried that it wouldn't fit with the rest of the furniture that I already have including a queen size sofa bed sectional. It actually is not that bad - I love the comfort of the sleeping space and can't complain about the overall fit. What I noticed about NY housing - most of the time if you rent in the older multifamily apartment buildings the bedrooms tend to be larger than the newer housing and the private houses - I guess that could be one other factor to consider if you are relocating back to NY.

I got a king about 6 months ago - I wouldn't trade it for the world!

I'm "the crowder" in our marriage I like leaning towards him...I'm always cold at night and he's always so warm and cuddly

We have a Queen and I love it!
We just went shopping and hubby really wanted a King, but I was able to talk him out of it. I don't want to have a problem when we move this summer with fitting it in our bedroom. The Queen is perfect with our other furniture - a King would be tight fitting.

Another plus is that we have room, but can easily cuddle. Hubby always complained (when we had a smaller bed) that I crowd the bed - which I often do. But he hasn't made any complaints and we've had the new bed for about a month. It's great!

I'm the same way nessa. we started out with a full, then a queen and now we have a california king which is luxurious. I hated my feet hanging off the end of the bed (I'm 5'11") and Neil hated having no room to sleep because I was all spread out. Now we don't even touch and it's lovely. Sometimes we even sleep with separate blankets because Neil comes in after I've went to sleep and I have made a cocoon around myself with the blanket.

We currently have a Queen, but I have a hankering for a King size bed now. maybe when we buy our new house....

I LOVE our king size bed and wouldn't go smaller even if I was single At 5' 4" I can flop any way I like and it's perfect.
Even better is that it doesn't get crowded even with babies co sleeping. <- The selling point for my husband.

We have a king bed and with my size ( I am 4'9 ,he is 6'2) , I can tell theres plenty of room , but he is a restless sleeper like your Gary..I can tell when he dream like someone fight with him, he talk and his arms and hands up in the air .., sometimes I wake up in the morning as if its our first night , tired and exhausted!

Full/Dbl for sure.. We are both med. height/weight and enjoy sleeping really close together. This is enough room for our comfort. Theres also alot more room to walk around in the room.. less clutter the better for us. In Jordan, we had our futon (bedding on the floor) approx. full size. Here in the states we have a regular full size thats so high from the floor. I think when he gets here he may get a nose bleed..lol..

We have a queen and we always fight for space. I'm 5'10, and he's 6'2" so if we both want to spread out, we have to wrestle for space. Now sometimes the wrestling is good but sometimes I hog the bed and my hubby is sleeping on 2 inches of the bed . King size here we come!

I had a queen bed before he came to the US, now we have a king.

we have always slept with separate blanket, not because we don't like to touch or cuddle, it's just.. I went live with my dad when I was 7 and he didn't have a single's bed, so I slept in a couple's bed (not with my dad, he would sleep in another room with my stepmom) I got used to it. I could never sleep in a single bed, ever. I prefer to sleep on the floor than on a single's bed.
And I was never married, never lived with a bf, so I never shared my bed, and even thought we have a king size, it is still too small for both of us And I move a lot during the night, so trust me, it is better if you have your own blanket, cuz mine is mine, yes I am very selfish when it comes to sleep well.

yeah I'm selfish when it comes to sleeping well too. Neil sleeps bad some nights cos I move a lot and I'm always like well I slept good stop complaining

Queen, I'm 5'7" and he's 5'8½" and it's just the right size.

We actually have a Tempur-Pedic, when his grandparents' house was sold we did responsible things with most of the money, but did splurge on the mattress since we needed a new one anyway (he really hated the mattress I had when he came to the US).

We have a queen, but we're always fightin over who's taking up the most room, not me thats for sure..... hubby forgets that he has to share it with me..... i wake up during the night to find him sprawled every which way but loose, his head on my pillow his feet in my bottom corner of the bed with just enough covers over me to cover my azz *SIGH* this morning i woke up to find his pillows on my head grrrrrrrrrrrrr........... we need a california king size at this rate

A king really takes up a lot of space. I had one for a while but traded it for a queen. I just didn't like giving up that much space in the room.

I agree - - We slept on a full sized bed and it was quite comfy but when he gets here, I have a queen sized bed for us = lots of cuddling I think king sized beds are too large - you can't get to each other..........just my 2 cents.

have had queen beds in hotels and they were fine. We are both about 5 feet 7. He moves around more though - (I get often get pinned under a leg!) I have a queen bed here but I really need a new one and may get a king bed... I have a new king comforter that I am saving for when he gets here but I guess I can use it on a queen sized bed too. Just have to wait and see..

We have a king but it seems like we don't need it. Since my wife got here in the states 5 months ago we only use about 1/3 of the bed.

I want the bed from the Sofitel Hotel.. that's what I slept on when I visited him.. most comfortable mattress I ever slept on. They sell the mattress on-line.

We have a queen and it's fairly new so we won't be changing anytime soon. Anytime it gets to feeling too small, I remind myself that in Jamaica I slept in a twin with Andre and sometimes a BIL, SIL, nieces and nephews.

oh wow I tried to sleep in a twin bed for 3 nights with Neil. I went out and bought him an air mattress and made him sleep on the floor! I NEED MY SLEEP!
