Actually four months now, but please post your timeline for other members to help you. Cheers and Happy Holidays.

Read carefully. It has been OVER 4 months for us. We are now going into 5th month. I don't know how long it will take 2 months from now but if you filed during August, September or October, you have a long wait.
We filed 8/14 and still nothing yet. Hoping for something soon.

168 days.
Actually no one knows exactly, but I can tell you how to find the approximate length of time.
As far as I can tell most petitions go from noa1 to noa2 in the same amount of time, reguardless of the type (k1, k3, i-130).
That length of time was shorter in the past, but the huge flood of petitions that came in right before the price increases has mad the time longer.
I filed May 30, 1 month before the flood, and my noa1 - noa2 time was 134 days.
I know someone who filed after the flood, and he is at 154 days and still waiting.
thus I gave you the 168 number.
It is no more or less accurate than any other, but I think it is a good approximation.
I would urge you to fill in your timeline, read up on the next phase of your petition, and fill in the forms you will need.
You will certainly need irs transcripts for your past income taxes, so go ahead and request those now so you dont get caught in the irs income tax rush next year.
best of luck.

It depends, if you had a timeline and where you sent the app others could compare it to their own timeline. If it was received after 7-30 at VSC or
8-30 at CSC it has been transfered to the Chicago lockbox and they are now showing processing apps received 8-26.

So, for people that are filing well after August, (saaaay, January...) can we expect to wait about that long for a NOA1 also?

I dont think so january applicants have to wait that long. Possibly the longest wait is over. Because after July 30, 2007 most VSC and august 30, 2007 california, the issuing was halted. Now it resume and looks most of the backlog in N400 (naturalization) is getting back on track. The problem started by N400 applicants. SO we are hoping a faster finish. Anyway the time line will overall be affected comparing with pre-July 2007.
