Hello all,

I know this questions must have been asked a million times already.

Though and seing the time both process take, do you really think the k-3 is worth it anymore when you look at the AOS and all the fees you have to pay afterwards?

Can anyone tell me from experience if nowadays the K-3 is really faster and if not, how much longer do the IF-1 / CR-1 take compared to the K-3 to be approved?

Our lawyer swcrewed up and sent the I-130 almost three months before the I-129F. Now I think it is taking so long for the I-130 to be approved because of the I-129F pending.

Should I go for the K-3 or the IR-1 / CR-1?

Please advise i'm lost...

Hi christinejohn, I know how you feel. I have searched also this answer. Before 30 july the K3 was faster.... and I believe today it is faster. Some say IR-1/Cr-1 is mabey less expensive in $ but really is it less expensive in time apart....... naaaaa Money is not the answer. I believe that the K3 is best even if it cost for now more... but I desire to be with my wife much more than to be without money.... Life is to short... I hope this helps a little... Merry Christmas

Both your I-130 and I-129F (K3) should be paired together by now and getting close to approval, so you probably do not have a choice of which to follow. Since last year the normal procedure is for USCIS to hold the I-130 application for AOS and forward the K3. It may be possible to stop the K3 with a letter, but I am not that familiar with the process

So far the K3 is faster by 2 to 4 months on average, but each visa petition has its own timeline.
