Good Morning Everyone.......Merry Christmas. You guys know how I worry......so just a copule questions to make sure:

1] I read where the visa application fee is going up on January 1 2008 to $131 from $100 and even if you pay the $100 before the date but did not interview until after the date you will not be allowed to interview until you pay the difference. Our Packet 3 said $100 but since I saw this should we pay $131 to CIB or wait until they request us to pay the difference?

2] Packet 3 says passport....it does not say a copy of passport. Everything else says copy. So we include his actual passport for a K1 Packet 3?

Okay I guess that covers my questions for now.

We are just trying to finish all of Packet 3 so we can mail it back on the 26th or 27th at the latest we want it there before the New Year Holidays.

You are doing K-1 NON Immigrant visa, NOT CR-1 immigrant visa, so question should be posted in the K-1 forum.

1) If visa interview is after Jan 1 You need to pay the higher fee.

2) Foreign Citizen's passport is brought to the visa interview.

Packet 3 for most consulates has a list of items needed for the interview, these items are NOT sent back to them, only a checklist indicating that you have them (DS-2001 or OF-169), and DS-230 part 1 gets returned to the consulate.

With luck your interview will be before the Jan. 31st cut off date if you pay the $100 before Jan. 1st. Here is the quote from the USCIS fee page:

Sorry that is where I started I didn't notice it changed when I was following links and decided to Post until after I already posted.

Thanks for your help even though I ended up under wrong Topic Title. I had read that before and that was what I was going by it says passport not copy as one of the items to be sent to the consulate. Thanks Again,

Do mail the COPY of the passport back with P 3. When Ahmed has his interview, he will bring his original passport with him.

I sure hope we didn't goof up big time. When Ashraf went to mail his packet 3 at DHL the guy at DHL INSISTED that he mail his original passport with the packet. I guess we will find out!! LOL Merry Christmas everyone!!

I do not think you messed up......everything says copy except the passport so we are mailing the original too . Ahmed said he can get another one in one day if he needs to. But I read the instructions several times and it does not say copy of passport it says passport. Than the embassy site says passprt also and not copy of passport. So I agree it should be the original. Good Luck to you.
